Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Truly enjoyed my stay at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur Chinatown. This brand spanking new is a gem that was unfortunately opened right before the Covid-19 lockdown. Decor is contemporary with mid-century and vintage Chinatown esthetics. Rooftop bar and pool has a view to behold. Location is right in the heart of cool KL revival. Think interesting restaurants, shops, cocktail bars and arty murals. Highly recommended. "

Arenaa Star Hotel
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"I checked into Arenaa Star on the 21st October and stayed here for 2 nights. It was a very pleasant stay. First and foremost after putting down my luggage, I ventured to the hotel's open air restaurant located on the Mezzanine floor. The seafood olio oglio I ordered was good. I also tried grilled chicken and lamb chop on subsequent days and they are all ridiculously cheap yet extremely tasty. Wow! The friendly and courteous staffs made the ambience all the more better. When it comes to the accomodation, I must say that it has the coziest bed and pillows for you to rest after a long walk tour around KL which you can easiy access via the LRT and is just a walking distance from Chinatown. Not to mention the big and modern bathroom, flat wide screen tv and various themes that represents each floor. For example the 1st Floor represents the Malaysian stars thus you will see the portraits of the local entertainers painted on the wall along the hallways to every hotel room. Not to mention the Hollywood, Bollywood, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Korea etc. You might have a pleasant surprise to see that one of them happens to be your favourite! So in conclusion, Arenaa Stars lives up to its name and is very recommendable for the budget value and comfort. "

Ahyu Hotel
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Ahyu Hotel is a treasure Chinatown KL. Simple yet elegant in its own special way plus super affordable. The owner and staff are super accommodating. The place is very near to most tourist attraction in KL and just walking distance to tourist spots within the Chinatown area. LRT station is just around the corner so getting to places outside Chinatown would not be a hassle (though we chose to use grab service since we have seniors in our group). The hotel provided our group with a nice and comfortable place to rest after a day of exploring the city. And did I say they have awesome staff? Will definitely be my go to hotel when I visit KL. Thanks Ahyu for being part of our great KL experience! "

SEASON POINT HOTEL
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Very good location, exactly at the entrance of Chinatown, but still at the mainroad, so that it is very easy to get transportation. LRT station is only 7 minutes walking through the street market. Bus stop (include the free go-kl bus purple line) is exactly in front of the hotel, connect it to the lrt pasar seni if you don't to walk. Staff is sooo helpful (I forgot his name, sorry Abang...). He upgrade my room, as I said I need windows. I also heard how he manage the other staffs, and it is very logical. Room is lovely... and it is clean, even for me who has quite high standart for it. The only negative thing is, they don't prepare kettle at room (you need to ask, but when I asked it in the evening, I need to wait until the next morning). I think if you just put water dispenser at the aisle, or even at the lobby, it will helps a lot"

Opus Residences by Opus Hospitality
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"What more can I say, this place is too good. Been to dozen of accommodation in KL, yet this is by far one of the best place I've stayed. The developer BinaPuri Properties really did splendid job on the building's exquisite details. Too bad we've stayed on MCO time, didn't get to utilize most facilities here. And thanks to Kaleem being a very welcoming reception. Fully recommended 👍🏻"

Lotus Hotel Masjid India
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"I just left the Lotus Hotel and was very pleasantly surprised. Its a very comfortable new 3* hotel, with a team of very helpful staff on the reception. Travelling as a solo woman, I felt very safe and well looked after, with absolutely no hassle. The location is great. I get lost anywhere, especially KL! But the hotel is just opposite the LRT station for Jamid Majek, and is between Little India (turn left out of hotel) and Chinatown (turn right). There is even a bustling night market right opposite, and several cheap indian eateries on the same road. To get to KLLC/Golden triangle, either take a short LRT journey of 4 stops, or a taxi for 10 ringitt (£2.50). Really, couldn't have been better. "

Big M Hotel
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Holidaying overseas it is important that you get the comfort and convenience. Big M is my regular stay when we need an accommodation near Chinatown. The warm hospitality of the friendly and helpful staffs never ceased to amaze me so far ... Thanks you! Importantly for us is that we have a clean & enough space room for two, comfortable beds, good air con & shower, and fast wifi. The Masjid Jamek LRT interchange station is a few steps away and has two Rapid KL LRT systems which cover a sizable area of places. Taxis are available at the station however getting Grab is cheaper. Walking distance to Chinatown, Central market and Pasar Seni train station (where you can board the Go KL free bus to the Bukit Bintang area). The hotel is close to fast food chain, coffee shop, and restaurants...and even pharmacies for medical supplies. For the service, comfort and location we highly recommend to those looking for a budget hotel near Chinatown."

More about Chinatown

At the center of Kuala Lumpur is lively Chinatown, a district known for its colorful shopping and entertainment scene. The district centers on Jalan Petaling, a bustling commercial avenue. It runs north-to-south through the district where it hosts the best shops and hotels in Chinatown.

Central Market, also called Pasar Seni, lies between Petaling Street and the Kelang River. In the past, it dealt mainly in produce, but the scope is broader now. Tourists come here to pick up handicrafts, replica designer goods and antiques. They can also head to the Annexe on the second floor for anything from cultural exhibitions to book signings. Pasar Seni LRT station adjoins the market.

Other shopping centers in Chinatown include Kota Raya, S & M Warisan and UO Superstore. None of these venues are as popular or glamorous as their rivals in Mid Valley City or the Golden Triangle, but they’re great for bargains. Each of these complexes has been recently renovated.

Most of the accommodation in Chinatown fronts Petaling Street. As the defining attraction, Petaling Street has the best selection of merchandise and restaurants, and it’s one of the likeliest places to find tourists in Kuala Lumpur. Cheap and authentic hawker food is widely available.

Because of its central location, Chinatown is a favorite place for tourists to be based while visiting Kuala Lumpur. It’s especially popular with backpackers and budget travelers, who make use of the Maharajaalela monorail station and Plaza Rakyat LRT station for getting around town. The Puduraya Bus Terminal, operating services to the LCCT airport and to long-distance destinations like Penang, Ipoh and Kuala Kangsar.
