Just go elsewhere
There is so much to say about this place. First, an anecdote: when I was a kid my parents sprung for a weekend trip to Cape Cod during peak season. It was our summer trip and we were super pumped. We stayed at a terrible motel and there were mushrooms growing in the bathroom. It was a nightmare scenario at the time. Through the years, though, it became our go to story and our benchmark for all things bad. "Is it better or worse than the Mushroom Motel?" "Well at least there aren't any mushrooms!" Etc. Etc. Hardy Har Har. First the good: staff was mostly Ok. There's a size able language barrier but by no means do I fault them for being a little rough in a second language- I studied French for 5 years and I'm useless. I understand that I am a tourist here and am thankful that people put so much effort into trying to communicate with me. It just made explaining things difficult beyond the basics. This is important. The wifi was good and the water was fine. We checked into our first room (a fan cooled standard room). It was dark and kinda depressing. Looked exactly like the photo so that was fine. It was full of stagnant, hot air. There was a dead lizard on the floor. It wasn't tucked hidden in a corner- it was right there on the floor. I threw it out the window which was easy because there was no screen and huge gaps between the pieces of glass. I went to use the toilet and found out too late that there was no toilet paper and then that there was no water in the toilet bowl or tank. The tank was bone dry and full of sediment. We tried the fan. The rotating function didn't work so it only cooled one spot. It had three modes but 1 was too weak, 2 triggered vibrations that sounded like we were driving in an old station wagon when it hits that magical speed and everything starts shaking, and 3 which was loud but the only real choice. We went down to tell them about the toilet, tp, and other things. I briefly thought about finding the lizard and put

Booked a double bed, was put in room with two singles. One mattress okay. Wi-Fi good. No water in room. Should have been better for price.

Not clean, shower not working. But cheap
Pretty good location
It was very unclean, both the room, bathroom and the general areas. The shower was a joke. But it was cheap, and pretty good location close to everything. The staff hardly looked at me when arrived and it took ten minutes before I even realised he was stuff because he didn't say anything and just played with his phone. If you are looking for a cheap place it's alright. Wouldn't stay more than two nights.

Cannot Argue The Value Chindmay Offers
Helpful Staff, A/C Option, Optimal Value
Wonderful for folks visiting Vientiane on a budget. As long as you can climb some stairs and get to the room everything is just as advertised. Our room was on the top floor (4) with a cool view below, although it was a bit noisy at times cutting off around midnight due to the bar across the way. The sound doesn't carry on the street but it does to the guest house. The room had A/C, TV and a fully functioning bathroom with a warm shower. Food/dining doesn't apply here so much since there's no restaurant attached & no breakfast provided. There is however a convenient mini-mart right next door in addition to one of the more popular Vientiane tourist restaurants "Ray's Grille". Chindmay gets the job done for a couple nights in the capital of Laos.

Hot shower, but nothing else was good
This was the first place we had an actual hot shower in about 3 weeks, that being said it doesn't overrule the other factors. The room was dark and dingy and smelt like it had been smoked in for 10+ years. We had booked a double room but when we arrived they only had a twin room left (this isn't a huge issue but it isn't what we originally booked).

Great location but dreadful facilities
It's centrally located, the staff were great
It looks like it's a family-run business and the guy at check-in counter was very helpful. However, the tiny room had a broken chair, 2 rusty clothes hanger and smelled dank. The sink was leaky and a bad odour was coming out of the toilet that smelled like the sewer.

One end of the town
One end of the town
It looks like a hostel rather than a hotel. There is a bar across the street, but the prices in Laos is too high compared to Thailand, just wondering how are the locals survive

Okay but could do eith a quick clean!
Staff, Location, Price
Good value budget accommodation. Room was a bit small and dirty but have seen worse. Staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a good atmosphere around the place. Location was good with most sights within 15-20 mins walk or a short tuk tuk ride. Would stay again
