Excellent”
I was there for 2 nights on 18-20 of May 2019. I was with my boyfriend and for the first time of me to be at Koh Tao and this place is really great of every kind! I chose this place cause of the view which is shown on agoda app. And that isn’t disappoint me at all. The view of this place is so beautiful but the way of coming here is quite tough and steep so the best way to come here is to ride a motorbike and please be careful of it. Staffs are fluent to speak english and very kind. About the room, i love it! Room is comfortable and wide and really looking good it’s like the bathroom is on upstair and bedroom is downstair and also the balcony you can see all the view of the sea here at your room. Breakfast is fine it is not buffet thing but you can choose ABF or others on the menu. The location of this hotel is super close to Chalok Bankao Bay, which would give you just a step to the beach and enjoy the tanning things! Most importantly the John suwan viewpoint is not far from here tho!

Perfect stay for Koh Tao”
We stayed 7 days in chintakiri and it was perfect. The room was always clean, same as the total hotel. The room is exactly as described with the pictures. The hotel itself is located in my eyes at the best area on the island. You reach the busy and loud habor area in 5-10 min with a scooter. Around the hotel you have lot of restaurants and shops were you can go by foot. The freedom beach you reach without a scooter in 2min. The hotel is located on a hill. So if have have no scooter you have to walk upwards every time which is for me the only small benefit. The breakfast was included and realy great. Lot of different options you can chose every mornig. I would recommend definetly the hotel and the loveful service staff. Good job!!!

We Extended Our Stay by 5 Days”
We loved this place. The view from the pool area and our villa was incredible. It made for some relaxing evenings watching the sunset. Breakfast was huge and kept us full for a days or snorkeling and exploring the surrounding area. The coffee is great and we appreciate the refills. Our place was clean, air conditioning worked great, and the villa was spacious - a nice change from the sized rooms we had experienced throughout Thailand. This place seemed like the most bang for our buck after hours of research. We originally only planned on staying 5 days, but we extended our stay for another 5 for a total of 10 - THAT'S how much we liked it.

Love this place!”
This was our favorite place that we stayed during our 2 1/2 week stay in Thailand! Gorgeous views of Chalok Bay. The staff members were so sweet and helpful, and our room was so beautiful with a big balcony. Would definitely recommend this place, especially to those wanting peace and solitude, slightly away from the main drag. Still only a two minute walk down the hill to the main road with bars, restaurants and shops.

Excellent stay, enjoyed every second ”
This place is beautiful, with gorgeous views from the pool/rooms overlooking the beaches and trees. The staff is very attentive and nice, the breakfast was good, the rooms are very nice as well. You get fresh towels and water every day which is awesome. Only “downside” is that it is located on a very steep hill, so to get up there is a little bit of a hike but it didn’t bother us at all and the view is totally worth it. It isn’t located in the “busy” part of town, but since Koh Tao is very small everything is a short distance. Would 100% stay here again!

Really nice view, nice staff/friendly, good breakfast, and little nice pool side ”
Steep hill! Not for people who can walk bad. Or you can rent a scooter then it's easy!

fabulous! Only big hike with kids!”
We had a fantastic time at Chintakiri Resort. The staff is super sweet and professional. The room and view: just amazing! Quiet and beautiful. The only thing that you have to keep in mind with children is that it is up hill and it is impossible to go up with a buggy. It is really steep, so you don't go up and down to the beach twice a day in the heat.

Beautiful quiet place on Koh Tao”
Beautiful property with nice staff, beautiful view, great pool and nice neighbourhood. The bungalows and the restaurant were fine but not special; the plants around the bungalows were especially beautiful! So also compliments to the gardener.

We had a fabulous stay at Chintakiri. The place is extremely well kept, clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. On the days that we had to leave early and could not have the complimentary breakfast, they would pack sandwiches for us. The view is gorgeous. The swimming pool is sparkling clean. The only recommendation I have is that they allow the pool to be open later in the evening as well. April was humid and hot and we would have loved to end the day with a dip in the pool.

A nice stay”
The best thing about this place is the view from the bungalow. The room is fairly simple but clean, comfortable and has everything you need - good value for money. There is a steep hill to the resort (hence the nice view), but shouldn't be an issue as long as you don't have mobility issues. As the resort isn't near the main beaches , you'll probably end up getting a taxi back, so wouldn't need to walk anyway!

Very good”
Nice place with amazing view over the ocean and quiet surroundings. For me, the way up was just too steep and too many stairs to climb. But if you don't mind walking up there, I can recommend to stay in their cute cabins!

Wonderful stay”
We had the most amazing time at the Chintakiri Resort. After being picked up at the pier we were welcomed very warmly by the staff. Our bungalow was stunning, even nicer than on the photos, 2 floors with an incredible view from both bed and terrace. We could watch the wonderful and quiet! (no loud longtail boats going in and out) bay and the sunset. Also the view from the pool and the restaurant is amazing. Try to have at least one dinner there, the food is wonderful and not pricey at all. We also loved the breakfast (best one we had on the whole trip), you can choose from different kinds of breakfasts (American, English,…) but actually you can order all the single items you want. The staff is incredibly friendly and nice, internet worked fine and the bungalow was clean. Only the snorkelling equipment we rented there was of poor quality, but they didn’t charge us for it. As stated in the previous reviews, the resort is located on a very steep hill, so walking up the street is not that much fun, but we just rented a scooter and that worked well, we also had the freedom to explore the island. There are also many stairs in the resort, but that’s also quite charming. Carrying around luggage is quite a task, but the staff helps you with it. We would definitely recommend staying there, it was one of the best hotels of our trip and especially because of the quietness (and of course the view and food) that we couldn’t find at the other hotel we stayed in on Koh Tao.

All-in-all pretty good but with arrival problems”
The only reason I've downrated the Chintakiri is due to the problems we had when we first arrived. The problems (detailed below) really should of been addressed BEFORE the arrival of guests. OK, we were given a very warm welcome at Reception and showed up our bungalow (I now call it a bungahigh), and I do mean "UP" in every sense of the word as Chintakiri Resort is built on a near vertical cliff face with steps not for the faint-hearted. However, once in the bunga'high' several things were either broken, missing or not functioning properly:- 1. The air-con in the bedroom simply blew out hot air with the temperature in there an incredible 41ºC. 2.The shower squirted water everywhere except downwards. 3.No kettle or tea/coffee making. 4. Missing chairs for sitting at the table on the verandah. 5. Lights not working. Complaints made to reception resulted in pretty immediate attention and, I have to say, I was impressed that each and every one of the above problems were repaired or sorted within the hour which is impressive. Th point I'm making here is that I cannot understand why these rooms aren't checked out before guests arrive. They knew to the minute almost when we were to arrive and it would have been a simple thing to switch on the air-con so the room isn't stiflingly hot and to check that fittings are present and that they work. The whole place needs a coat of varnish and a lot more TLC. That's the negative part, On the positive side our bungalow(high) had a stupendous view of Chalok Baan Kao Bay. Once one has walked from the main road up the 30º plus steep access road and then up numerous flights of steps and stairs... and that's before one gets to the bungalow(high); it really is a climb and a half and definitely not for young children or the infirm. The staff are, simply, wonderful. Most are Burmese and are very smiling, helpful and caring. Breakfasts are simple but adequate and, again, served with charm and helpfulness. Once the air-con has been off for a f

Friendly staff with a superb view”
We had booked a diving course in Koh Tao but wanted to relax in the evenings, so we decided not to stick to the diving school resort. However, it took us several days to make our decision: the reviews on Chintakiri are scary about its "hilly" condition,,and they have proven to be right! Overall, the Chintakiri is OK, having a very welcoming and friendly staff, who will arrange whatever you need, and a superb view over Chalok Bay. On the con side, the steep hill you have to climb before you enjoy that beer-with-a-view, and the overpriced rooms.

amazing views, friendly staff”
We enjoyed our 4 night stay here, very friendly and helpful staff, particularly the manager who was most helpful in answering any questions we had. the food at the restaurant is reasonably priced and the thai food is superb. the pool is super clean and there are amazing unobstructed views across the chalok Baan Kao beach bay....quite spectacular. the rooms are comfortable and clean enough - separate bungalows with terrace. beds are comfortable and wifi is reliable and strong throughout the hotel. the walk up the road to the hotel is steep, but short, so not good for people who have difficulty walking. but worth it for the views, peace and quite away from the busy main road.
