Staff went out of their way to assist with everything we asked. Very helpful Views from the pool are stunning, also the view from our villa was amazing to wake up to each morning Chintakiri is located in the most beautiful bay of Koh Tao

We don't like Ko Tao. Overprized - too many people - taxi mafia. Stay away!

We are avid scuba divers, and chose chintakiri as our home base for diving with the centres in Chalok. The view, the privacy and the amazing staff made our stay unforgettable. We extended our stay from 6 nights to 19, and we will be back for sure.

Staff were lovely, can hire a motor scooter for 150 a day, breakfast was delicious, rooms clean, nice and secluded, such a beautiful view. Totally recommended!!

A lovely small hotel with wonderful views. Clean and spacious rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Certainly a gem in Koh Tao.

We extended our stay an extra four days later, and now are hoping to stay even longer. Need I say more? Yes, there is a hill, and you will have to walk up it, but when you make it to the top the view and the solitude are your reward...

A little bit run off”
I got a room very close to the parking and it was very noisy. Bedrooms doors and windows are old and difficult to lock. The staff is very helpful and friendly, after the first night they offered me another room which was quieter . Chalok bay has a great beach and good diving schools

The place is great, really beautiful but has a hard path to walk until reaching it - we were without scooter which made it really hard for us to go back and forth to the room.

Good Hotel”
We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean with very nice views! It is a different experience as you stay a little far from the beaches but literally in the middle of the jungle. The breakfast is not buffet, you can order one item from their menu. The only downside is the location which is indeed on the top of the hill and for us, a young couple, it was very tiring to go all the way up. It’s recommended to rent a scooter to facilitate this. Overall it was a good stay!

Beat View in South Koh Tao”
Great views ! Very nice room. Staff was fantastic and breakfast every morning was great. Only thing to be aware of is the climb up the road from the beach. It is steep. That did not affect our stay, it is a great place.

room with a view 😍🖒”
At first they pick u up on the pier and bring you to the resort, the staff is really helpful, they bring your luggage to your "house"! :) They also organize tours for you (snorkelling etc.). The accommodation was great, very clean (rommservice cleaning everyday and brought water, new towels..). The view from the balcony is stunning 🤗 Breakfast was also really good! The resort is based on a steep hill (we recommend you to rent a motorcycle) ;) The beautiful freedom beach is not far away. And u can use the pool! I would recommend the resort to everybody! :)

Staff were excellent - offered to make us breakfast sandwiches to take on early morning dives and for early departure. Hill up to location is a workout in the heat, but the gorgeous views are worth the effort.

Best view of chalok bay”
Great spot above chalok bay. Lovely view of the whole bay. Nice and quiet and great big patios on the bungalows. Simple but Well-designed rooms and comfortable bed. Water wasn’t really hot but I didn’t ask to have it checked so can’t really fault the hotel too much for that. Helpful friendly staff.

The place is lovely”
We came to the place after a recommendation from the divers club. The hotel is remote from the city center and it is good to have a shooter in order to come and go. They have good food The stuff are very very nice The Only problem was bad smell fromthe shower that they couldn’t solve but without that the place is perfect for coup,es that want very quite place with beautiful views all over. Be prepare to climb many stairs because the hotel is on the hill which make it steep but beautiful

Awesome place with nice scenery! Recommend to everyone!”
Wow, just realised I forgot to write a review for this wonderful place! Me and my friend went to Koh Tao in last December and we had a wonderful time staying in Chintakiri Resort! We love the swimming pool and the friendly staffs, they are very helpful and friendly. Picked us up in the dock and offered lots of nice advice! And the breakfast was delicious too. Really miss there, wish I could go back soon!

Very good”
The hill this resort is perched on is no joke, even for this San Franciscan, it was steep as hell. Don't slip. But you are rewarded with a wonderful view each morning, so there's that (and the High Bar is conveniently right above the resort!). The facilities are a little tired (the pool cushions are brown plastic and worn and not the white ones you see in the pic, the towels need to be retired) but it was clean and everything worked. The staff is so nice, especially after you're there for a couple days and you get to know each other. Don't miss Yin Yang for lunch and dinner, conveniently just down the hill.

Our favorite hotel in Thailand ”
We highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and clean, with an amazing veranda and beautiful view of the bay. The hill to reach the hotel was actually not so steep as we had expected - two short climbs only, which are perfectly possible for anyone in medium shape! We did not make use of the pool, but it seemed to always be very calm and had a beautiful view as well. We also made use of the hotel restaurant several times, which offered great food. The biggest asset of this hotel is most definitely the staff - a special note to the lady behind the reception and in the restaurant, who were the kindest, most sincere we encountered - and this is a country where almost everybody is very kind and sincere! Everyone of the staff went to great lengths to ensure that every problem or question we were was more than adequately addressed. We wish we had stayed longer!

All-in-all pretty good but with arrival problems”
The only reason I've downrated the Chintakiri is due to the problems we had when we first arrived. The problems (detailed below) really should of been addressed BEFORE the arrival of guests. OK, we were given a very warm welcome at Reception and showed up our bungalow (I now call it a bungahigh), and I do mean "UP" in every sense of the word as Chintakiri Resort is built on a near vertical cliff face with steps not for the faint-hearted. However, once in the bunga'high' several things were either broken, missing or not functioning properly:- 1. The air-con in the bedroom simply blew out hot air with the temperature in there an incredible 41ºC. 2.The shower squirted water everywhere except downwards. 3.No kettle or tea/coffee making. 4. Missing chairs for sitting at the table on the verandah. 5. Lights not working. Complaints made to reception resulted in pretty immediate attention and, I have to say, I was impressed that each and every one of the above problems were repaired or sorted within the hour which is impressive. Th point I'm making here is that I cannot understand why these rooms aren't checked out before guests arrive. They knew to the minute almost when we were to arrive and it would have been a simple thing to switch on the air-con so the room isn't stiflingly hot and to check that fittings are present and that they work. The whole place needs a coat of varnish and a lot more TLC. That's the negative part, On the positive side our bungalow(high) had a stupendous view of Chalok Baan Kao Bay. Once one has walked from the main road up the 30º plus steep access road and then up numerous flights of steps and stairs... and that's before one gets to the bungalow(high); it really is a climb and a half and definitely not for young children or the infirm. The staff are, simply, wonderful. Most are Burmese and are very smiling, helpful and caring. Breakfasts are simple but adequate and, again, served with charm and helpfulness. Once the air-con has been off for a f

Beautiful views, good breakfast, would recommend”
Fantastic value for money at this resort. The views are great and the swimming pool is just as it looks in photos. The complementary breakfast is the best I've had (they let you choose from their entire menu), and room was kept very clean. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Yes, it's at the top of a hill but you wouldn't have the amazing views otherwise. Only minor complaint is that the shower seemed to run out of hot water if you didn't shower very early. Stay here!

Not worth it! ”
Pros: The view and the pool was awesome and the resturant was fine. The bed was good. Cons: Location was poor, you have to get a motorbike to do everything! The hill to the hotel was HARD. Our room was full of spiders and we saw a lizard there when we arrived. Bad smell and too hot in the room. Not worth the money, we were supposed to stay 7 nights but we got an early check out after 2 nights.
