Had a wonderful one night stay at this property with my 10 and 8-year-olds who absolutely enjoyed the loft (bunk) beds, and midnight cup noodles from the lobby vending machine. Despite being a budget hotel, one can pretty find all the amenities needed including bathrobes and in-room slippers, facewash foam, strong water pressure, and even extra masks if you'd forgotten yours, and story books for small kids to read that can be borrowed from the lobby^^ Many things are self-service, but that actually adds to the comfort of this hotel. Breakfast is mostly Japanese style, but enough varieties and quite delicious. The staff both at Check-in and check-out were extremely friendly^^. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all travelers looking for a simple and relaxing stay in Karuizawa if you want to spend more money at the outlets rather than for a hotel room. (Only minor setback for those without cars is the distance from the station. It takes about 10 minutes or 1500JPY on a taxi one way, but I think price per night here is cheap enough to cover for the costs).

Great Inn to stay for a Visit to Karuizawa”
We stayed here because our friends recommended it as they stayed here previously while visiting the Karuizawa area. And we were indeed thankful that we stayed here as it is a nice Inn to stay in. The rooms were a but small but it is expected, but they were very clean. It is a bit out of the way from the main Karuizawa shopping area so will need a car to drive around. Overall a good place and reasonable price to Rest after a long day out skiing, shopping, etc.

It's a 3-minute drive away from Prince shopping outlet. This budget hotel has a spacious bath compared to other business hotels in Japan. We also liked the amenities provided at the hotel such as the humidifier and phone charger.

My brother and his family had a wonderful stay here. His only comment was it is a bit far from Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza (might be because it was winter) but still accessible via Taxi / private vehicle

Excellent budget option in Karuizawa ”
The Chisun Inn is a Japanese budget hotel chain, but this is little hotel, nearly hidden away in the woods, provides one of the best lodging options in overpriced, snobby but beautiful Karuizawa. This hotel is relatively new and is in good condition. Its rooms are above average in size for a Japanese hotel, and the bathroom and shower is surprisingly big and offers great water pressure. Breakfast is included in many rates, but it is 600 yen otherwise. It is a fine value. Location is excellent near the city center, Shinkansen station, and major highways. It’s best to have a car here, but you could probably take a taxi here for less than 2000 yen from Karuizawa Station, and given that the Marriott and the vast number of 60 year old Prince hotels nearby will be happy to charge you 50,000 yen per night, you’ll be glad you stayed at the Chisun Inn instead.

Chisun Inn was intuitive to the needs of its guests. Our room made use of space well with a loft for our 2 kids. The breakfast was filling and affordable. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely consider staying here again.

Although the hotel is not located in the centre of Karuizawa, it is not a problem if you drive. the sound insulation is quite bad.
