Relaxing, comfortable place for very good price”
We enjoyed our time at Chitanun very much and extended our stay. The room was simple, but good quality considering the low price and clean. It is located next to many restaurants, bars and supermarkets and the bus terminal as well as the Kwai Bridge are about 2 km away. We definitely recommend staying there!
Great central location and dirt cheap”
Booked to stay in Kanchanaburi as wanted to see the Bridge (as we assume most will!). The Chitanun was very central and if you know where you're going it will take 10mins from the train station. We were checked in swiftly as we had booked through Agoda and just showed our booking slip. Led through some lovely well kept gardens to our small room toward the back of the complex. Our room was basic but what can you expect for 250 baht. Shower was cold but learning to love them. The rooms location was also good as it avoided the noise from the high street (which can get quite loud on some evenings). Some of the staff cannot speak much English but they were very friendly and with a bit of ingenuity you'll get there. Highly recommended for 250baht!
Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens”
We absolutely loved Kanchanaburi and this hotel was a major factor in this. The room was basic but of a good size and with a comfy bed. We only had cold water as that is what we paid for but it was fine as it was hot outside most days. The rooms all look out onto some sort of garden and the grounds are very pretty. The frogs make a great noise at night and the dogs are very friendly. The hotel is right in the middle of the 'strip' so there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, but the noise from the bars doesn't reach the rooms which is great
A cheap place in a nice location.”
Chitanun is a simple inexpensive place to stay on the main strip in Kanchanaburi. It is good if you are doing a lot of hiking and activities in the area and just need a place to sleep. Close to the bars and the river it provides a great central location to explore all of Kanchanaburi.
Comfortable and peaceful”
Great value for the single, fan room I was in. Property was beautiful and the landscaper is always there maintaining it. The host even let me check in at 8am when I was desperate to move out of my other guest house. Bed was a bit soft but overall a great experience
Great garden stay”
This guesthouse is very welcoming. Good location for sightseeing in Kanchanaburi. Nice clean rooms with fresh sheets overlooking beautiful gardens. Fairly quiet if you get a room near the back of the gardens. Excellent price, some of the best value accommodation in Thailand. We opted for a no frills room with fan and cold water only. This was absolutely fine for us and our budget. Would definitely stay here again. Food only rated low because there was no restaurant and I had to give a rating, there was no n/a option :)
Relly nice to stay there”
We were two backpackers and stayed at Chitanun for 3 nights. It was clean and nice! The ambiance is really nice like you found an oasis in all the city noise! You have good access to restaurants, bars and massages. Only the bus station is about half an hour away by foot. All in all we had a good stay there!
Comfortable stay and good value for money.”
I opted for a basic room for 250 Bahts per day.The room was spacious and clean bathrooms. I would recommend this place for backpackers and budget travellers. The best thing about this place is its gardens. It gives an ideal place for chilling out during the evening. It has no restaurant. But there are plenty of ones just outside the hotel. It is in a convienient place to access all the main attractions of Kanchanaburi. The River Kwai is only minutes walk from the hotel.Just cross the road and take a left and approach towards the Jolly Frog restaurant to get good view of the River Kwai. There are also numerous bike rental shops nearby. All you need is to provide the passport copy and you get a bike for 200 baht/day.Rent it out and explore this beautiful city.
good place for good price”
Nice quiet guest house with lovely gardens. We had a room only with fan and it was too hot so we recommend to everybody to take air conditioning units.
Cheap basic but clean accommodation”
I stayed in chitanun once a week during my volunteer work in kanchanaburi and loved it. Friendly staff, cheap, basic but clean rooms. Only criticism would be no Internet in the rooms
Great location and cheap”
When no one was on reception, the "guard" who sleeps in the tent couldn't understand a word of English. Even a game of charades didn't work. He didn't understand that we were one towel short following all sorts of hand movements towel drying and so on. It's a very basic place, but very cheap and we were more than satisfied as we only slept and washed in the room. The shower was cold, no hot water but we survived as it was hot weather. We booked the place via internet for one more night as we enjoyed staying in Kanchanaburi and visited a few places (Tiger Temple, River Kwai Bridge, Erewan Falls).
Great property atmosphere & location!”
I just needed a place to sleep for a short visit, at a decent price. The staff were very kind and friendly. The location is right in the heart of the tourist area (night-life bars), so you could hear the thumpa-thumpa at night. My room was also a fan room with no shower heater. However, I didn't mind any of that. The beds were very comfortable and I truly enjoyed the bountiful plants enhancing the charming atmosphere of the property, making it feel like you are away from it all. There are many delicious restaurants to choose from just seconds away. Same goes for transportation.
Good accommodation, lovely setting”
Rooms are good, located near to some good bars and restaurants but far enough away so there's no noise although you may have people staying up late and talking outside your room. The railway museum, cemetery, rail station, JEATH museum and Kwai bridge are all walkable from here. The minibus drop is near the jolly frog which is very near.
Comfortable, clean, great budget option ”
We stayed in one of the most basic rooms and It was just what we needed at a very good price. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness and pleased with daily towel change. Staff were friendly and clearly took pride in the place, the garden was immaculately maintained and the hirer end air con rooms also looked forest value for the area. They don't do food but there were plenty of places close by to choose from.
This was absolutely amazing stay. You get your own little private house with bathroom and big comfy bed. great location close.to everything. Only wish the WiFi was available not only in the reception area!
Great value basic room”
No issues with this guest house. I rented the most basic fan room which is good enough just for sleeping and showering. Good value - you get what you pay for.
the guest house is good location , near Kwai bridge, near some restaurant, near train... the host is very kind. He always smiles and help us whenenver we want. the staff is so very impolite. When i checked out lately about 30 minutes, she brow our luggages out of my room, her attitude is so bad. I never stayed here again
Great place to enjoy kanchantaburi!”
The hotel is lovely, lots of nice wooden tables to sit and use the wifi or play cards and it is all surrounded by flowers and plants. The rooms are clean and the beds are super soft and comfortable. The location couldn't be better, great restaurants and bars within a five minute walk. Great value for your money!
Very nice and cozy”
Very centrally located, Nice Bungalows, many Restaurants and Bars in the area. Very good new "aussie" Restaurant and Bar with friendly owner and staff just opposite the Guest House.
Central garden stay”
Lovely place, the garden area is so nice to hang in after a day of exploring. Rooms basic but comfortable. Main Street is quite touristy and over priced but the night market a few minutes walk away is a must for great food!
