Value for money accommodation for the solo traveler ”
Now for the cons. Honestly, the boutique resort has seen better days. It was impossible to get the temperature of the water right - it was either too hot or too cold. The internet was frustratingly slow and kept disconnecting. The housekeeping service was sloppy. I would recommend this boutique resort if you're looking for a no-frills accommodation in Chiang Mai with a great location that is value for money. Just don't expect this to be a resort, because it isn't.
Nice hotel inside the cant Mai walls.good location”
The personal is friendly and multilingual. The location is quiet and close to everywhere beside the three kings monument and the museums. Many thai restaurants around.main inside walls road near so easy to take a transport. The hotel is clean, my room was behind the reception at the entrance, no outside. The ceilings were too low. Internet was not working at all inside the rooms. The room I found it a little small. The rest is all fine.
Happy & Enjoy the stay”
Beautiful garden hotel in the heart of old town, easy to visit the town and sunday market. very helpful and friendly staff. But the vila room has the space to be improved. anyway, it is still value for the money and highly recommend
Lovely hotel and friendly staff”
We had a lovely stay at this hotel - the staff were friendly and helpful, everything was clean and the rooms were spacious. Location was great - we were able to walk to a few of the temples & there are plenty of restaurants/hawker stalls close by. Very nicely furnished with traditional Thai furniture Excellent service and great value for money.
perfect quiet location, right in the heart of CM”
This hotel was a complete surprise. It is located in a remote alley in the center of old Chiang Mai. Their garden is very well designed with a small rice field and waterfall. The old style houses suit perfect on this location. It is like turning back the clock. The staff was very helpfull. the only comment is that these old style houses are a bit noisy, but thats accepted well
Brand new Lana style teak house, great location”
This teak house is only 3 months old, very new, clean and great location. It is behind Tamarind village hotel and is a good base of getting around the old city. We upgraded to a suite for 300 baht more...the rooms are spacious, clean, all teak wood with bath and shower, fridge, tv and breakfast. Very charming old world Thailand feel to it. Lots to english channels on TV..definitely value for money!!
Perfect little hotel in Chiangmai”
Hotel only opened 2 months. Grounds of hotel is spacious and beautiful with trees and pond. Consists of 3 2-storey buildings with a total of only 14 rooms. All beautifully decorated Lanna-style with shiny wood floors. Staff was completely attentive to every detail. Always trying to help. Especially Kaan, who seems to be the engine that runs the place. She is absolutely marvelous, as is her staff. This little hotel a little tricky to find. take a google map and print out the address of the hotel in Thai for the taxi driver. this is a great bargain. it is smack in the middle of the old city. if you want a beautiful, quiet, relaxing hotel to stay in, then this is it. to get anywhere, tuktuk rides are inexpensive.
Damp but good location”
The room is quite in pretty good condition and good location if you don't rent a car. It locates near the night market and old town. We stayed a night on the ground floor but inside the room is damp and we couldn't open the windows.
Thank you very much for your review. There was one room without windows, in the meantime we'rel not sell this room anymore. I'm sorry for the inconvenience Best regards June
The staff were super nice. Loved the welcome tea they give at the reception while checking in. You can ask them any questions and they'll try their best to answer them. The breakfast was great and the food they have at the restaurant area was good too. The atmosphere seems very Thai which we loved! And it's within a walking distance to Old Town and Tha Phae Gate. Overall we loved our stay here. We still talk about how we made the best choice of our last hotel at the Thailand trip.
Thank you very much for your review Sungyon. We hope to see you again here. Best regards June
the grounds are very nice but the whole atmosphere is tired and the maintenance on all things is needing a makeover. for the $$ it not worth the cost as opposed to many other hotels in CM. The room above vibrates the wood ceiling trim in my room and I was woken up anytime someone walked upstairs. It was not pleasant. The staff were very kind and pleasant.
Thank you very much for your review Michael. In the meantime things have changed here and after a makeover we hope to fulfill all the expectations. Best regards June
Clean, friendly and green!”
We found Chompor to be an oasis of green in the Old City of Chiang Mai, - very restful and relaxing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the food we had was delicious and the included breakfast was generous. The whole area was really clean and our whole stay was a pleasure!
Thank you very much for your review Lakshmi We hope to see you again here in Chiang Mai Best regards June
Excellent location next to beautiful temple and Lanna Folk Museum”
We had a very pleasant stay, enjoyed the excellent location which made wandering around the city convenient. The only drawback is the breakfast which was quite bad. You're better off having a noodle soup in the street. Kanjana restaurant is not very far and worth a visit.
Thank you very much for your review Stephane We changed our offer for breakfast as well as the kitchen staff. Now you can choose from a veriety of different breakfast-style, like Continental, American, English, Thai, Chinese or even egg benedict, all comes with fresh bread, seasonal fruits, coffee and fruit juice. We hope to see you again here at Chompor Best regards
A Hotel Matches With Nature”
It is a very pleasant experience to stay in such a comfortable hotel. The hotel staff are very polite and helpful. They are really willing to help customers. The hotel is surrounded by green trees, you can feel cool in the hot days. It is a hotel worth coming back again.
Our stay was amazing. The hotel location, design/atmosphere, staff, and food were all amazing. We were here for Loi Krathong and the staff left a small lantern in our room for the festival- small details like this really made us feel welcome. The staff were all amazing, I will definitely recommend Chompor Lanna in the future. My only recommendation- get better mattresses- it would be great to come back to the hotel after a long day of walking with a comfortable bed! The current mattresses felt a bit like sleeping on a box spring.
This hotel has all the possibility of being a 4 star hotel, but is inconsistent with their service, depending on the staff. It was overall a nice stay, but desired for more considering the price they charge, compared to other quality hotels in the area. It's in a great location, right near a lot of attractions, Sunday Market, and food stalls. I would consider staying here again.
the resort is located near the Sunday night market, only walked few mins. However it need to mention in the booking if u want to have double bed room, we missed out this point. luckily the staff can change for us. and only one brush was provided, it did not make sence. and if u want to relax inside resort, please remember to mention u need to stay away from family guests with kids. so noisey.
Great location, but otherwise disappointing”
Had a meal there before and looked quite nice so decided to stay there this time. The location in the old city is great, but an otherwise unremarkable hotel. The staff did not seem very interested in the guests and there's definitely better options around.
Boutique Hotel right in the heart of Old city”
We selected this hotel because I had stayed there before and we only wanted to stay one night and be close to the weekend market which is almost at the doorstep! The staffs is friendly but food service is slow. This is not an issue as step out into the main street, you will have lots of choices. There is even one function mini rice padi field within the hotel compound - give you a village feeling right in the old city!
Pleasant and tranquil spot in the Old City”
The staff were pleasant, helpful and spoke great English. We reserved the cheapest room at the last minute (Christmas night). The room had a low ceiling as mentioned in other reviews, but we are both tall and did not find it a problem. it was a bit of an odd space, and they did a beautiful job making it stylish and pleasant regardless. During our one night stay, since our room was at the back of the property abutting the temple, someone was hammering on stone during our afternoon nap and 2 hours of recorded prayers being recited) starting at 5am. We managed to ignore the hammering with a pillow over the head and the mostly drown out the prayer recording with the air conditioner. We still found it good value for the price.
Nice garden hotel in the heart of Old City”
We actually booked the Standard room but when we checked in, found the room too small and ceiling was lower than normal height. So we upgraded to the Deluxe room for additional Baht 500 which was acceptable. If you are not not any budget, go for the Deluxe rooms. The resort has enough open space and greenery - even a rice plot for planting rice! Very comvenient located and with ample parking space. If you like to explore the old city of Chiangmai, this resort is highly recomended.
