A couple of minutes' walk from Paddington station, this classic Edwardian building in central London is handy to shopping, pubs, and restaurants. In a quiet spot between Paddington and Lancaster Gate tube stations, the Chrysos Hotel is the quintessential European hotel with cozy little rooms, peaceful, grassy aspects, and a location within walking distance of scores of pubs and cafes. Wireless Internet access is offered in the lobby, and all the 24-hour conveniences of the inner city is practically on the doorstep, including a net cafe and late-night mini-mart. While proximity to Paddington makes the entire city readily accessible, guests need only walk down the road to enjoy one of London's most iconic landmarks - Hyde Park.

Good for one night”
It’s super close to the Paddington Station so the location is convenient, especially if you’re coming from Heathrow. The room was tiny but I was traveling alone so I didn’t mind the limited space. My TV didn’t work. The bed was very uncomfortable. The shower and sink were okay and the tea kettle could have used some descaling. There was a lot of hard water built up inside of it. Free breakfast was a nice touch. You also have the option to leave your luggage in the lobby for free if you’re planning on doing some sightseeing. I didn’t have issues but I would have felt more comfortable if they kept luggage in a more secure area than the lobby.
Old but nice clean hotel. The staffs were very friendly & helpful. Great location, stones throw from Paddington station/underground (3 min) and in from of Norfolk Square. However the wifi is not connecting very well, maybe due to the room location (4th floor and the corner room).
great budget hotel closed Paddington London”
Clean and nice budget hotel near Paddington station in London. A nice British style breakfast is included. Also can easily get any type of restaurants near there.
This Hotel is walking distance to Paddington Station and is opposite a lovely park, with great choices of food close by. The rooms are large enough for 2 suitcases and have a great shower. The beds were a little hard but overall comfortable enough. The breakfast was full English and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
beds were a bit small for a double and not a great mattress. breakfast limited but ok. very clean and the location was brilliant.
breakfast included, close to bus stops and Paddington station, no complains really
The staff is helpful and let us store our luggage after we checked out. The location is excellent--very close to Paddington Station.
Perfect location, adecuate hotel”
This is not a luxurious accomodation, for the price you pay and the location this hotel is almost perfect. Comfortable bed, clean sheets. Facilities are a bit outdated but, reflects in the price you pay
Worth to stay and will be back”
Room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is quite good and it's included. Location is excellent and the staff are nice. I have to say Thank you to the staff. I get injured in the hotel by cutting myself accidentally, when I went down with my bloody fingers to the ground floor to reach the reception, the staff is calm and get the first aid kit to me to stop bleeding and he taught me which direction to the hospital. After 2 hours back, he concerned how's about my fingers. When his shift is over, another receptionist came and he also asked about my fingers, i would say they briefed each other so well because they care about their guests. Also, they are very helpful, each time when we showed them the place we would like to visit, they told us how to get there, their information is better than the travel guide book. Thanks again and we will be back definitely.
This should be a 2-star hotel”
The room was small and old, the duvets were old and smelly. The lift operates slowly and we use the staircase most of the times, which creaked upon walking. The toilet and shower facilities were in a depressing state, with an extremely tiny basin which leaves you no room to put any toiletries and the shower tap either provides hot boiling water that is misfit of bathing or cold water. We stayed for 2 nights and were more than happy to leave the place. It is definitely not value for money as we managed to pay a much lower price for a much more enjoyable stay in another accommodation in the next block thereafter.
The room is clean, but very small. I guess this is the size you get for staying in central London. Location is excellent, very near to Paddington station. Breakfast is standard English breakfast. Front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. Hotel is nicely kept and very clean. Overall a wonderful hotel. If only the room size is a little bigger.
Clean hotel with great location”
Clean hotel with very friendly staff at the reception. Location is good as its 5 mins walk to nearest Paddington Underground.Restaurants and pubs are easily available, with supermarkets located just opposite the hotel. Nice little garden just at the doorstep of the hotel. Easy to flag a cab from the side of the road.
Clean, simple & good location”
I was staying at the Chrysos Hotel for one night in between my stop over international travel. It's a 3 mins walk to the Paddington station, which allow me to catch the Heathrow express to the airport; but also central enough to shops and other close by stations (Notting Hill Gate). The hotel staff were ok, friendly enough to help; but with limited English (well, the one that I was check in with has limited English). Limited wifi in the room, but you can always take your laptop to the reception area - which wasn't ideal for me when this was a work trip. Overall, for the cost and great location - and cleanness. I am happy with the Hotel and would recommend others to stay there, if it's for a short work stay.
Great location and a good welcome”
i enjoyed my stay and i would be very keen to use the hotel again...except for one thing. the hotel had advertised that wifi was available. technically, it was available....just not in my room. which was a shame. i was very pleasantly surprised by the good ambience of the area.
Very nice hotel at a cheap cost”
The Hotel is at a very good location 1 min walk from Paddington, but in a alley with a small park, so there are no noise from cars. The rooms are clean with a nice bathroom and at an adequate size. The Staff is very nice and polite, and it was a nice surprise that we could get a nice full breakfast with out additional cost. We will for sure be back another time, hopefully in the summertime.
Just basic facilities are provided”
The hotel is convenient to Paddington railway station however the facilities of this hotel is really limited and basic. There were only towel and shampoo provided. You have to bring your own necessities. Room cleaning was only done once in two days. If you are looking for a quick stay without further request that would be fine. The hotel also looks very old and deteriorated. I feel that I have been back to 80's. That said, the staff are very nice.
A night at Kerobokan prison probably more enjoyable ”
Small sweaty hot box, no air in rooms, bathroom is tiny & nowhere to put your clothes so they don’t get wet. Springs poking out of the mattress that are so uncomfortable no chance of sleeping on them anyway. Don’t be fooled by ad that’s says they have a lift, as it stops on the middle of the floor and you need to drag your bags either up or down the stairs, that’s if you have half a day to wait for the lift to come. Wifi is also non existent and does not work in your room only at reception, that’s where everyone hangs out to make calls. Breakfast is discussing & you don’t get to choose as your portion is delivered to you, heaven forbid if you wanted 2 sausages and no bacon, if you’re vegetarian your choice is cereal that’s all you can help yourself to. It may be close to Paddington Station but with train and busses it’s easy to get around anywhere so save some money and treat yourself to somewhere nice this place is disappointing.
Great location, friendly staff, clean but very poor breakfast. Could be improved.
Best value for money!”
This is by far the best hotel in this area: the biggest rooms with nice bathroom and central heating. Been there more than few times and it is always my first choice in this price range!
Very good location though you still need to walk for 3 min from the rail station. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby
