A beautiful hut in a quiet part of Phi Phi”
We booked into Chunut House for 2 nights either side of a tour to Maya Bay, however the owner of Chunut informed us on the morning of our tour that they had over-booked and would be moving us to their sister hotel Sunwaree Resort. We were perfectly happy with this and they offered to take our bags to Sunwaree for us when we returned from the tour the next day. Sunwaree is beautiful and the manager Wut is fantastic, he was very welcoming and chatted to us while we waited for our lunch. All in all our stay at Chunut and Sunwaree was wonderful and we would recommend them to anyone that wants to stay in a beach/mountain style hut in a quiet and secluded part of Phi Phi.

Great staff and location!”
I had an excellent two night stay at the Chunut House Resort. It's located just off the main drag of Koh Phi Phi, so it was quiet enough to sleep at night but a quick 5 minute walk to the beach and many shops/restaurants. Wut, the manager, was extremely helpful and accommodating the entire time we were there. He was always available to give advice on where to go and made sure he had someone ready to take our bags when we had to catch the ferry. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Villa in the Trees”
I loves staying at Chunut house. I was a great experience especially as the staff is really friendly and helpful. When I left they help me charge my camera battery(which took 4 hours) and held my bags indefinitely throughout the day at the reception. It is a little bit of a walk but not too bad at all. Bfast is tasty and inexpensive. I hope to one return to this little oasis in the treetops of Phi Phi

great huts & friendly service”
I stayed at Chunut House Resort for 3 nights & loved it there the guy who runs the place called Wood was so friendly & i enjoyed my breakfast there where we chatted about loads of different stuff which was really interesting he definately made my stay there more enjoyable. The location of the place is down a dirt track & when it rains its abit of a nightmare getting past without covering yourself in mud they need a proper path but it is well lit & i was on my own & felt safe at all times.

Great place with great staff”
we stayed 3 nights at chunut house and had a great time on koh phi phi. chunut house has nothing to offer as a resort but as a place to stay it is great value for money. it is 5 minute walk from the centre of town so it doesn't suffer from the noise of the continuous party atmosphere of the island. our room had a great comfy bed and was cleaned and remade every morning without need to ask. the staff are really friendly and will go out of their way to help with any request.

Unique and nice place, friendly people”
We stayed 4 nights in March 2012. We were pleasantly surprised that when we got off the boat at the Ton Sai pier there was a member of staff to pick us up and carried all our rucksacks and stuff to the hotel, that was very helpful that we did not have to wander around with heavy baggage looking for the place. The houses are in a very good location, close to everything (bazaar, beach, pier, viewpoint), although the road leading there passes next to a sewage "plantation" (a nice lake with beautiful flowers but stinky as made of sewage water) but you cannot smell anything at the hotel and to be honest, if you come to Thailand you will smell something everywhere more or less, it's normal. The houses are made of bamboo so you can expect some bugs, we had a huge spider in one night and some cockroaches but these you will find everywhere so really not the hotels fault but if you freak out because of spiders, bugs etc then you will sleap with the light and the telly on, like I did :-) The bamboo houses are just charming and the garden looks amazing especially at night. You get towels, bathroom supplies, the place is clean, fridge and safety box in the room, nice large beds and aircon and telly working fine. Very good value for money, recommend this place, we will go back next year for sure!

Nice and quiet next to Phi Phi's busy center”
We had a very nice 1 week stay at Chunut House. *The staff is friendly and helpful (will carry your luggage from/to the pier). *The AC room are basic but nice, big enough and clean. They have TV and fridge. They could be even better if they had more furniture (1 desk and 1 chair or 1 more cupboard would be perfect). *The breakfast is served at the bakery next to the hotel. Nothing big but it's tasty and freshly made. *The "tropical garden" around the bungalow is awesome. *the funny design of the bathroom gives access to mosquitos, make sure to keep doors closed and don't forget your repellent. *the hotel is located 3 min away from the center of the village, which is loud is busy at night, however the hotel is very quiet, which is priceless if you want to stay in Tonsai and sleep at night. Chunut House was for us definitely a good value.

Beautiful Guesthouse. Wonderful & Friendly Staff”
loved this place! the staff was very friendly and helpful. breakfast was included and was a very nice spread. this is the perfect getaway spot. off the beaten path, secluded in its own little space, chunut house has beautiful spacious bungalows with hot/cold showers, tv, mini fridge, and in-room wifi. the only drawback is the weak wifi signal, but i was there to get away from it all, so i didn't really mind too much.

Cheap and comfortable accommodation ”
This hotel was clean and our bungalow was comfortable and spacious. Chunut's porter picked us up at the pier and guided us through the village to the hotel. This didn't have to be arranged, the porters meet all three of the daily ferries. Breakfast at the Bakery was great. Staff cook a fresh omelette in front of you and there is croissants, toast, fruit, coffee and juice provided. You need to wear mosquito repellent in the bungalows because the walls aren't completely sealed. For the same reason, you can hear everything that is going on outside very clearly and vice versa. My sister is a light sleeper and was woken early in the morning by people moving around outside. You also walk past an unpleasant smelling water garden on the way too and from the hotel which is a bit of a turn off from an otherwise good hotel. The hotel is a 5 min walk to Lo Dalam beach where you can hire kayaks. Slinky's bar where they have beach parties every night is also on Lo Dalam. There is an excellent massage parlour at the end of the road that Chunut House is on. Thai massage is 200 baht. I would recommend going somewhere else for other beauty treatments.

We love phi phi! ”
When arrived to phi phi, we was met by staff from hotel and walked us to the hotel (no vehicles on island) which was unexpected. When arrived we was greeted by kind and polite staff and was given cold bottles of water and a cold wash wipe. Lovely and clean bungalow, only down side, wasn’t given a clean towel every day, which is ok but we use them a couple of times a day. Located about 3-5 min walk from beach, main restaurants and shops, which is good if you don’t want the sound from all the music. We initially booked 3 nights and then stayed for a further 1 night as we loved it so much!

All-around decent hotel”
Chunut house is a perfectly decent option for those looking for something more than a hostel or tiny room and who do not want to break the bank. The room comes with everything one would want - AC, Fan, TV, safe, full outdoor bathroom. The staff is also very nice and quite helpful. It is, however, a bit rough around the edges: Sometimes the staff is not at the front desk. Only one staff member spoke decent English. The blinds don't quite cover the windows all the way. Little things like that keep it from getting a better review. All in all, it is exactly what I would expect given the price. Would recommend it!

Away from all the noise”
Koh Phi Phi can be incredibly busy and noisy, especially when the parties get started at night. Staying at this hotel you avoid all of that. It's still only a 5 minute walk to the bars, restaurants and shops though so it's easy enough to get in the thick of it whenever you like. Some hotels on the island only offer electricity between certain hours, usually at night, but at this one you can blast the air conditioning to your hearts content! Some reviews have commented negatively on the bathroom, but we thought it was great.

Nice cabins”
The Chunut House had someone meet us at the port to wheel our bags and show us the way which was really nice as it was a bit of a walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cabins are a good size and very nice inside. We were in one of the higher up cabins which was great as it was quieter. The hotel did have their own restaurant and offered breakfast. Their was wifi which was a bit hit and miss. If you want to use it make sure you do during the day as it seemed like it was shut off after 10pm or so for the night.

Great Service, decent location”
It is not in the middle of the action but the hotel is accessible to most places within 20 minutes walking, all the way to the main jetty. It is certainly better than the average standard but don't expect the best. Be prepared to use lots of insect repellent (its probably the same anywhere else in Koh Phi Phi). The place is located on a slope and probably not too friendly for the disabled or elderly. Breakfast is a little cramped; get it without breakfast and eat elsewhere (many places nearby) seems to be a good option.

nice room, reasonable location”
We booked in at Chunut but on arrival were told they were fully booked. Apparently they have the same owners as Garden View Resort accross the road and we were put up there instead. They offered free breakfast to make up for their mistake which was a nice gesture but the breakfast was very ordinary. The room itself was quite nice and clean with a good bathroom relative to other places I'd seen or stayed at on Phi Phi. Although it was still frustrating getting a standard room when we'd purposely booked a bungalow for something different. The location was decent, far enough from the noise but as village is so small it was still a short walk to all the action.

unique environment hotel”
first time in phuket, arrive at the pier, we walk seashore to find chunut, based on map. it's not really hard to find this hotel. the location and the environment of this hotel is quite like living in a forest or jungle. the house made by woods, it's quite nice for us to experience this kind of things. rooms are spacious, nice to stay.

Excellent”
Great little place in a quiet corner of Phi Phi but only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle. Very clean rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast a bit basic but adequate. Recommended.

I can recommend the Chunut house. The Staff was very friendly and nice. For breakfast we even had croissants and pastry.

Mosquitos are a problem”
Chunut House is located on a wooded hillside. This might be the reason there are a lot of mozzies about, or maybe they are all over Phi Phi. Anyway, even though the staff lit coils, we still got bitten quite a bit - enough to make sleeping difficult. Nets might be a good idea. On the plus side, the rooms are basic but clean, and the staff are friendly and do seem to genuinely want their guests to enjoy their stay. Location is okay too, close to the centre but not on top of it.
