Great location, good price, great air-con”
we weren't in the room much, but we were so thankful for the good air conditioner, clean room, and cable television. fantastic location in georgetown, near the pier and near little india. we loved it and will stay there again when we come back!

Good location but a bit small”
We stay for 2 night on chineese new years 2013, it was a good place for short stay. The location just near by the ferry side. Behind the hotel have a small indian street , just a footstep we can reach there. If you have a car or motorcycle, it should be not a problem to travel in penang

Good basic hotel”
A good basic place when being in penang. We stayed here during chinese new year, which may explain the high price. A breakfast place is opposite the hotel and within penang itself everything can be reached within ten minutes walking.

Going cheap in Penang.”
Our Standard room on the first floor, double bed, was windowless & small. A fitted bench with a rail was the space-saving wardrobe. A wall-mounted tiny LCD TV, 2 bedside lamps & aircon completed the rooms features. The private bathroom was newly tiled with clean toilet bowl, sink & shower heads, this was the deal clincher, also half the size of our room. Free Wifi could only be accessed from the lobby which doubled as the eating area, connection speed was good. The reception desk was manned 24 hrs a day. 2 free bottles of water. Towels were thin. Hotel tooth brushes, soap & shampoo were included. Luggage can be stored in the office for free for late flights or early arrival. No elevator. Reception can arrange for airport transfer with a transfer service. Room was booked via a 3rd party website for under $30USD.

Basic but value for money with great location”
For the money, this provides a clean, basic place to put up for the night with nice cold air conditioning a respite from the blazing heat outside and strong hot shower to cleanse from all that sweaty stickiness). Clean and decent sized bathroom. To top it off, location is great, right next to the Peranakan Museum and a short walk to the Clan Jetties and Esplanade. The Happy Mart convenience store is near by. Downside is that there's hardly any place to hang clothes/towels -- only 2 hangers (I guess you could ask for more) and only two electrical sockets (one taken by TV). No hotel parking, just along side of the streets (which are normally always full) but there's an hourly rate car park just across the road (also always full in the day). They didn't allow any late check out after the normal 12 noon. Wifi is only at the lobby. There's food and drinks served but I didn't try any (so I rated 3) Overall, I'd still stay here again. Would stay here again.

nice room not the price”
this hostel just close to chulia street in heritage trail area. but it will be difficult to find for the first time. i choose private room and a little bit expensive without breakfast. but the room was clean, complete with flat screen tv, water, towel and i got at the second floor. but next time if i'm visiting penang, sure i'll find another place which is in chulia street and cheaper price. the staff was kind but don't try to ask them in the phone to give a direction to their hotel, they won't guide you, so you will find and ask every people on the street

easy to find local food like char kuey teow, rojak, cendol, hokkien mee and many more, good location, generally clean hotel, clean room, reasonable size of room, hotel room clean, easy to get parking if you drive, friendly receptionist. not far from shopping area. public transport in penang is also convienience

Good service and big room.”
Location is ok. There are the oldest Kuan Ying Temple in a walking distance. Little Indian Street is also very near. We enjoyed shopping there with friendly Indians businessman. We did not take any food in the hotel because we did not know if there is a restaurant in the hotel. But opposite the hotel there is the Old Town Cafe. The only poor thing is there is no car park here. Luckily we managed to get parking lot whenever we need it.

Budget hotel within some interesting places”
Budget hotel but the room is nice with a big bathroom. Location wise as near to some interesting places like Indian street, Nyonya & Baba mansion, restaurant & bar & etc. Check foursquare also to find out comments. The only downside which is hard to find parking and the hotel wifi.

A basic place close to the jetty”
It is in a great location being in the heart of Georgetown. Only a short walk into little India, the hotel is a fairly good place to base yourself. Only a 15-20 minute walk to the main attractions like the blue mansion. The price was about the same as all of the hostels in the area, but was much nicer than anything else we looked at. The rooms were small but clean. All rooms have private bathrooms, tvs, and the A/C was very good too.

Clean hotel”
the room is standard size for a budget hotel. the room is cleaner than expected, come with aircond, hot shower and a lcd tv. the curtain is a little too thin, which makes me feel a little uncomfortable. the location is ok, but not suitable for traveler with car as it is very hard to find parking and you need to pay parking fee from 9 am till 6.30pm.

Really really bad. I don't want to visit the Church Street Inn again it really dirty. the bed and towels have been mildewed and staffs don't clear the room if you stay two more days. They also don't put the hair dryer

Great Location”
Very good location for any traveler. Every necessary shop & halal restaurants are near by this hotel. It is also very near markets. Farry Ghatt is one of the great benefit to stay here. Room condition is good.

Worth the money”
First impression of the inn wasn't great especially when the guest toilet on the ground floor was dirty and very poorly maintained. Upon checking in, the room was what we expected from the pictures shown. Nothing wrong with the bed or whatsoever, bathroom was equipped with heater and it was well maintained considering that its a budget inn after all. Overall, it's a great place to stay for a low price accommodation that is within town.
