Best staff ever and superb location”
I didn't think hotel staff would make much of a difference until I experienced Cintra Heritage. They went out of their way to meet my needs and treated me like family. Imran even attended to my private needs without a hint of wanting anything in return, and with an incredulous memory, did everything he said he would. This was more like a second warm home, and my trip to Penang was enriched by staying here. Though Cintra is not a luxury hotel, they have all the basics for the traveler such as strong Wi-Fi connection, hot and ample water from the shower, free bottled water, kettle, coffee&tea, and even slippers. Breakfast in the small yet relaxing courtyard was truly refreshing. Upon stepping outside, a few minutes by foot will take you to all the major tourist spots in George Town, as well as to the big bus terminal near the Komtar building (10 minutes by foot) from where you can go to the other "must-see" spots such as the Kek Lok Si Temple. What is more, you can enjoy the delicious Penang food in abundance as there are so many places to eat nearby, and sp inexpensive too. The rooms tend to be rather dark, but there is a bright lounge-like room on the second floor with wooden furniture in colonial-style where you can surf the Internet with your feet stretched out. I also enjoyed talking to other guests, as conversation seemed to come easily due to the cozy atmosphere created by the most wonderful staff. They were great!
Very beautiful house”
cintra heritage house is located in the center of georgetown, penang, next to lively lebuh chulia. it's a very beautiful, wooden building which is kept very well. the staff seems really interested in the wellbeing of their clients, as they greeted me every time by name and organized a taxi without any problems and so on... there is a beautiful courtyard inside the house where you can relax. ac on the room is working good, the shower was good as well and i slept fine. there's really nothing i could complain about, if not the lack of windows which made it somehow noisy, especially if you got a room facing the street.
Wonderful, A Home far away from home”
Cintra Heritage House is a wonderful Breakfast & Bed lodging located at the junction of Lebuh Chulia (Chulia Street) and Lebuh Cintra (Cintra Sreet). Walking distance to KOMTAR, Chowrasta Market, street food and various heritage sites. Staff were attentive to our needs and feels like home. Beds and Aircon were in good conditions. Love the room which is big and comfy, with place to put luggage on. Furniture is great and makes me feel like going back to the good old days. Also thank all the staff who sent us to the jetty and airport. As it was on a weekday, staff gladly allowed us to stay till 5pm as our flight was at 9pm as there were no guests staying in the room. With some tips, the staff gladly allowed us to "borrow" space from their fridge to store the Teochew beancurd in their fridge prior departure. I will definitely come back to have a stay at Cintra again. It's a home away from home. Value for money!
I fell in love with this charming heritage hotel”
We stayed here for two nights and I really felt sorry that I had to leave to our next destination. The cintra heritage house is a charming bed and breakfast in a more quiet side street of Chulia street (a very busy street in the center of Georgetown). The rooms are beautifully furnished and painted and have cute wooden window panels for windows. The small cafe (where breakfast is also served) is very cosy and me and my friends spent quite some time there after our ventures into the city center. The staff is extremely helpful and charming as well. The only reason why I don't give this place a five star rating is because of the potential street noise, due to only wooden panels for windows (I slept with ear plugs, so it was fine) and the shower which will make eveything wet in the small bathroom because it lacks a screen or curtian. If i would ever return to georgetown i would stay here again!
Homely place with a great location”
Cintra Heritage house is a relatively new place (opened just less than a year ago). Lady (who's stayed in Penang for the past 20? years) was very friendly when I first checked into the place Loved the wooden flooring of the rooms and homes (you've gotta remove your shoes before you go up to the second level to preserve the place though). Complimentary breakfast was provided for me (thanks so much!) and it was awesome having home-cooked breakfast every morning Continental breakfast (with scrambled eggs) and nasi lemak were both very nice I stayed in a single room, with windows into the middle courtyard of sorts. Room was nicely sized for one (the double and VIP rooms are much bigger. I peeked into the open ones and was impressed with the size). No cupboards were available (only wooden drawers were present), but that didn't really bother me. Room was not soundproof (so I could hear music playing when people were using their laptops in the courtyard, but that didn't bother me much.) I felt it kinda added to the homely feel of the place Room was equipped with a large ceiling fan, and aircon, which was really nice. Take note that toiletries are not provided, so do remember to bring your own (or buy them from a supermarket at Komtar, since toiletries are cheap in Malaysia Great location as it was at the corner of Lebuh Cintra into Lebuh Chulia (which is a main road where you can take buses to Batu Ferringhi or to Penang National Park). Either stand at the side of the road facing Love Lane, or opposite Banana hotel (or something along that line), and flag the buses when it comes. It costs and around an hour's ride to Penang National Park. Just ask the driver to let you know when and where to stop. Friendly people around the area. Day stalls usually close by 4-6pm in the afternoon, with night stalls setting up at 7pm. There's good chicken rice down Lebuh Cintra near to Lebuh Kimberley, and good dim sum along that same road. Try Penang Laksa if u can!
Great stay at Georgetown's heritage trail.”
cintra heritage house's location is very strategic especially for travellers who plan to visit the unesco world heritage areas of georgetown in penang. all the heritage sites are within walking distance, say within the radius of 1 to 1.5km from this new yet lovely guesthouse. i simply like the food choices around the guesthouse where i'm able to enjoy the authentic delicious penang food (either the street food or the restaurant food)! it's location off the main road (chulia street) also means less traffic noise. the guesthouse's staff always serve the guests with a smile. they even allow me to extend the check out hour until 2pm since it's a weekday....
Relaxing and comfortable.”
I had a very nice stay at Cintra Heritage House. The hotel is a historical building, but the upkeep is great and the rooms are very clean. The bed was very comfortable, perhaps the most comfortable in any Asian hotel I've been in. The staff members are all friendly, and the breakfast in the morning was great. The only issue with the room was the windows were fixed in a way that I couldn't really see out of them without approaching them and looking down between the blinds. Another thing to consider, if looking to stay in Penang during the month of Ramadan, is this hotel's proximity to a mosque. The call to prayer would begin quite early in the morning, and then again late at night, and would go on for hours at a time at a volume that will definitely make it difficult to sleep. Although I enjoyed listening to it, my girlfriend was quite tired and wasn't so receptive.
A warm and quiet haven in the bustle”
A cozy bed-and-breakfast in the middle of bustling Penang. Cintra is right off a busy street and is fairly quiet. Our room faced the street, so at night we could still hear some traffic (motorbikes/scooters mostly) and pedestrians. Within walking distance for most sights of interest in the Georgetown area. This is a simple but nicely appointed bed-and-breakfast. Clean, comfortable and large rooms, though bathroom was quite small. Very authentic, in the sense that it is not overwhelmed with colonial or Asian decorations as some other more luxurious establishments may be. Staff was superb and very helpful for all our requests regarding common tourist questions (what to see, how to get there, what to eat, etc.). It was a lovely place to come home to at the end of each day. Always smiling and warm. Even offered us breakfast on the last day (though it wasn't part of our nightly rate), simply because it was our last day.
Fantastic location and old world flavour”
We spent 5 nights at Cintra Heritage House for a city/eating vacation in Georgetown. The first night, we stayed in a 2nd floor room in the back of hotel which didn’t have a mini-fridge and had a small queen sized bed so we requested two single beds. Fortunately, a 2nd floor room overlooking the street was available and had two single beds, although on the narrow side, and a mini-fridge. The bathroom isn’t very large but is manageable for two people, but the room was large and spacious, with chairs for each of us. The street noise was manageable except for the last night when someone decided that 1am was the time to start hanging political banners in advance of the national elections. The wooden windows open out to lovely old world shophouses and additional blinds keep the room cool even during mid-day. The furniture used throughout the rooms and hotel are retro or antique, giving the whole place a lovely vintage flavour. The location is fantastic – less than 10 minutes to Kimberly and Campbell Streets for good food, as well as Chulia Street for money changers, 7-11 and bus stop. Breakfast is functional but the fresh juice is a nice touch. The manager was very helpful over email before our visit, and in purchasing bus tickets back to Thailand, as well as preparing a complimentary meal on our last night as I had mentioned it was my birthday. both staff at the hotel, were also extremely lovely.
A lovely friendly place to stay”
We really loved our stay here, The hotel staff are delightful and so helpful, But in addition, the drinks are cheaper than anywhere else in Georgetown. It is a relaxing place to chill out with fellow guests and outside there is an amazing array of restaurants and bars. We loved the Red Garden food court - the best fish we've had in over a months in Malaysia! The Cintra heritage hotel is the perfect location, The rooms are big - at least ours was huge - and the breakfast is fine for the price you pay. We recommend it very highly!
best of the best heritage hotel in area”
impressive hotel in georgetown ever..I booked other hotel 1 day before moved to this hotel cause in fact I prefer to stay at the 1st hotel more but lucky it's no available room in that hotel so I move to this hotel and it's very impressive till I changed my mind from stay in another hotel after went back from another town to stay here...the stuffs are all helpful and make you feel like home..in fact the day I was at penang was the national festival timing so it's rarely to pick the good hotel to stay but after I went to cameron highlands and be back to stay in this hotel again the owner even offered me the better room(a lot bigger and more comfy)....thx!!!for all kindness and thx 4 take good care btw...thx peter!!!you works real good and care for all guesses.....I'm sure I'll b back to penang soon and of cause I'll surely stay here
Cool, clean, and convenient”
We stayed here for a few days while visiting Penang, and had a good experience with Cintra Heritage House. The building itself has a cool design, and the room was clean and comfortable for a good price. We were also within walking distance to many sightseeing spots and delicious places to eat, which was also wonderful.
the location is the best.It is old be very clean, well maintained. it is near all key night market and local food stall. I had a drink at night until 11 at Champell Street alone, it was totally fine to walk back hotel, Cintra Street is very quiet and safe at night. it is a good deal to stay and experience the live in an heritage house in George Town.
Really heritage ”
The cintra heritage house is really a heritage property and is well kept and maintained by the polite staff members. It is beautifully decorated with plants and other antics. The location is central to all the relevant tourist facilities. The free tourist bus CAT stand and other bus stands to visit places are closeby. The city walk itself reflects it's heritage tag. The comlimentary breakfast is basic but good enough. We stayed there for two days with our child and liked the it so much that we would love visit the play and there again.
Cintra House was great”
Our stay here with two families and three young children was great. The staff are super friendly and it feels like you are staying in their home. The first night we were in the two front rooms which were very close to the road and was very noisy. The next day the staff gladly moved us to a quiet room at the back of the hotel. Well done Cintra House
Great value and location”
The Cintra B&B is a good choice to stay in Georgetown. The locations is great, in the middle of the old town, near bars and restaurants. The house itself is a beautiful heritage house with plenty charms, and the rooms are comfortable and stylish. Breakfast is basic but good, and the staff is very friendly. Value for money is excellent. Highly recommend.
Cintra Heritage House is near by the kimberley street which is full of delicious food and it is within 15 min walking distance to Komtar, the staff quiet helpful and friendly ,we also enjoyed the breakfast. The room is clean, however do not provide hair shampoo and conditional which i have to buy it outside and no room service, wifi a bit slow in our room too .We stayed at ground floor which the room face to the road, we can hear some noise from passer-by.Overall value for money.
Excellent in every way”
The walk up from the jetty gives you a chance to get a feel for the older areas of Penang. You will easily find the Cintra just to the left of Chulia. The Cintra is convenient to good food, local art, and fascinating history.
Great location, large rooms but need ear plugs”
Cintra Heritage House is a newly renovated old heritage building which had a great warm feel. The room we had was on the first floor which was wonderfully large and facilities were extremely clean. Staff are friendly, courteous and although still new to the hotel/hospitality business, are off to a good start. Our room faced the street and we noticed there is a bit of traffic that use Lebuh Cintra late in the evening. The traditional shutters don't offer much sound proofing and with Hari Raya celebrations (ie, fireworks) combined with the cars and scooters, noise levels were high during our stay.
