“Significant advantages that can cover the shortcomings.”
The biggest reason I was considering this accommodation was the location. I wondered if it would be dangerous or noisy since it is on Kabukicho Street, but it turned out to be better than I expected. However, I did think it might be scary for a woman walking alone. The surroundings are entirely entertainment districts, and there were quite a few people sleeping on the street in the morning. Still, I think it would be a decent place for couples or groups of two or more. First of all, it's only a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku station, which isn't far. There are many restaurants and several convenience stores nearby. Don Quijote is about a 7-8 minute walk away, and places like Uniqlo, GU, and Lumine department store can all be reached within 10 minutes for shopping. The size of the accommodation is quite spacious for this level. In Japanese hotels, there's often no space to walk when you open a suitcase, but here, even with one suitcase open, it's easy to walk around. The bathroom is also relatively spacious. One downside was that the window in the room couldn't be opened, making the air dry and a bit irritating. Still, they clean every day and keep it tidy, so the overall condition is really good. Each floor has a water dispenser and ice maker, and I think it was the 3rd, 5th, and 7th floors that had microwaves, making it convenient to heat up food purchased from the convenience store right below. It was nice not to have to buy water separately. There are definitely significant downsides, but there are also enough advantages that I think this is a pretty decent hotel overall.
