Fantastic hotel”
We were very impressed with the Citadines Shinjuku hotel. We had stayed at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel at the beginning of our trip before going to Kyoto. We stayed at the Citadines Shinjuku for 1 night after returning from Kyoto and just before flying out from Tokyo. The room was very new and quite large by Tokyo standards. The room was a LOT bigger than the tiny Shinjuku Prince room we had. An in-room kitchenette was a plus. The room we got had a double-bed and a sofa-bed, so it could accommodate the 3 of us comfortably. It felt more like a mini-apartment than a typical hotel room. A coin-operated laundry/dryer is available downstairs, which is handy. Free internet is available in the room, but you need to ask for a LAN cable from the front desk since wi-fi is not available. The location wasn't as good as the Shinjuku Prince, as it is a decent walk to the Shinjuku Station and where all the action is. On the plus side, it's more quiet and not so busy on this side of Shinjuku. It is also pretty close to a couple of subway stations. I'd recommend taking a taxi to Shinjuku Station if you have a lot of luggage. The front desk staff are friendly and can hail the taxi for you and tell the taxi driver where to drop you off. Overall, a very pleasant and comfortable stay. For longer stays, you can't get much better than this since you can cook/heat your own food in your room and wash clothes in the laundry.

Shinjuku Stay Dec'09”
My family of five truly enjoyed our stay at Citadines Shunjuku; booked two adjoining rooms. Easy access to Shinjuku station via walk, bus or taxi and to rest of Tokyo sights. By walk also accessible to all shopping convenience. English speaking courteous staff and comfortable room amenities plus ccoking possibilities, including cable TV with English programs availability. I like particularly the adjustable room temperature to meet all seasons requirement; do not have to consider option to open window when the heater is on. Easy to get to Narita airport via the Tokyo Express bus with station in Shinjuku, just a short and inexpensive taxi ride away. Particularly when you have to lug your big baggage after a Tokyo stay. From Citadines Shinjuku, we had the chance to also make it to the Tokyo Wholesale Fish market in the early morning to catch the auction and then feast on the fresh seafood there. All in all, a memorable and enjoyable stay at the Citadines Shinjuku.

Value for money away from the busy city”
Citadines Shinjuku was a gem of a hotel and made our first trip to Tokyo (and Japan for that matter) very comfortable and enjoyable. It is not centrally located to the more popular sights of Tokyo but a good location nonetheless in a quiet part of town. The Tokyo Metro is a 5 minute walk away, there is a 7-11 beside the hotel and plenty of hole in the wall restaurants and cafes in the surrounding area. The hotel is also a short walk away from the Shinjuku Gyoen gardens. The room was spotless! We stayed in a studio room and it did not feel cramped at all. The room had all the amenities you will possibly need (cable TV, hair dryer, microwave, iron, kettle, steamer, free wi-fi). The staff spoke English and were all very helpful and friendly. There are coin operated laundry facilities on the ground floor. There is a buffet breakfast for ¥750. It was not much but it was sufficient for the price.

Excellent Hotel, Great Value in Shinjuku”
We visited Tokyo in Nov. 2009, and we'll go back to Citadines Shinjuku in our next trip. Absolutely fantastic hotel. Minimalist/modern decor. Helpful Staff. Rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. Every detail is well planned. Rooms do not smell like smoke. Internet is free, and cables are provided free of charge at the reception (no Wi-Fi). The kitchenette was nice (microwave, sink, refrigerator, water kettle, electric range). Shinjuku is a fun neighborhood, and the hotel is a short 15 minute walk from everything. Definitely recommend the buffet breakfast (additional cost), with bread/pastries, cereal, yogurt, cheese - an ample feast. We recommend this hotel heartily.

Good hotel in a fantastic location.”
Citadines Shinjuku Horel suited us perfectly for our city break to Tokyo. The rooms are comfortable, good size for Japan and very clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We didn't eat in the hotel as there are so many great options in the area or the surrounding suburbs. We usually opt for more luxurious 4 or 5 star rated hotels but on city breaks we don't spend much time in our hotel so this 3 star hotel was ample. The location was excellent, 4 minute walk from the Shinjuku-Gyoenmae metro station in a lovely area. Beautiful park nearby and plenty of little bars and restaurants around. We did our sightseeing during the day and were happy to return to our quieter suburb at night for dinner, drinks and entertainment. Locals don't speak much English but are very friendly and we still managed to communicate and have a laugh with them. Highly recommend Tokyo Cuisine, Vector Beer Bar and especially newly opened One's House run by the lovely Yumi. We used the Metro to get around because it was so hot and humid but it's only a 20 minute walk to the main shopping and central area of Shinjuku. We will definitely stay at Citadines Shinjuku Hotel on our next trip to Tokyo.

Great Hotel! ”
We stayed at the Citadines for a full week and it was a wonderful hotel. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were clean and spacious. It is right next door to a 7/11 and it is within walking distance to the subway, train station, and the Kabukicho/Golden Gai area (but not so close that you are in it). The area is safe and a bit quieter than the rest of Shinjuku. At first the walk to Shinjuku station wasn't an issue when we first arrived, but after 4-5 days of heavy walking it was a bit of a trek to get back to the hotel. It is probably about a oh....15-20 minute walk. Not too bad, but can make a difference when you're already tired. We never tried the breakfast because we had the option of the 7/11 next door or could just use the kitchenette in the room. It was very spacious for a hotel in Tokyo! Would definitely recommend :)

Great family hotel”
We chose and stayed at the Citidines Shinjuku primarily because it's an apartment style hotel and it's proximity to Shinjuku centre. The reason being we came with children of varying ages and we need the room space which most hotels in Tokyo are unable to provide. It's facilities include a kitchenette that comes in handy when preparing small meals for the young. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean and I'd say the beds are reasonably comfortable. The hotel apartment comes with a bit of sacrifice though. Many reviews have already mentioned that it takes a full 25mins to reach Shinjuku station but the walk is still a pleasant one nevertheless. Shinjuku geon(garden) is situated between the hotel and the station albeit slightly of the track. We were unfortunately a little early for sakura blossom otherwise it would have perfect. All in we still enjoyed our stay and wouldn't mind coming back to be greeted by the courteous staff.

Very Okay”
They were busy on the day that we arrived. Many visitors were checking-out. They still accommodated us and made us feel welcome. We were told to wait for our room to be readied and would check us in the moment it was available. Fast check-in (and check-out too). The room was spacious for two persons (even a 3rd person too as it has a sofa/pull-out bed for accommodation). The room has a mini kitchen where one can cook, a microwave, personal ref etc.). It also has a comfortable heater to combat the cold wind outside. The location is located in the quiet locale of Shinjuku, easily accessed thru bus 61 to/fro anywhere the major streets of Shinjuku attractions and stations. Very near the Shinjuku Garden, we went for a walk and photo shoot with some of the sakura found in the garden. We stayed at the Hotel for 8 days, and it was cleaned daily by their housekeepers. Very quiet hotel too. But the bed was a bit on the hard side (yet can be comfortable for a tired body after a day of strolling around). That's the only con I can point out maybe. The Hotel has a gym, a beverage vending machine and a coin-operated laundromat. There was unlimited coffee and tea supplies in the lobby (help yourself). Most staff esp the front desk (very accommodating and kind) staff can speak and understand English. We'll stay again if we're going back to Tokyo.

Exceptional”
My friend and I loved staying at the Citadines Shinjuku. The location in a quieter part of Shinjuku (but still only 15-20 minutes walk to the main shopping district and Shinjuku train station) was great. There is a big supermarket across the street which was great for grabbing a lunch to go or hotel dinner. The hotel is also very close to the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, which is a lovely place to explore when you need a break from the busy-ness of Tokyo. Beds were super comfy!

The Best Place to Stay in Tokyo”
Great hotel, great location, great room, great staff. What more could anyone want? My wife and I just spent 5 days in Tokyo. This was our first trip to Japan. We wanted a central location from which we could explore the city. Citadines Shinjuku was ideal. The subway stop is only a block away. A little intimidating at first, the subway is easy to use, inexpensive and always on time. Shopping (both low and high end), nightlife and literally hundreds of restaurants are within a few blocks. The Botanical Gardens are nearby (a five minute walk). Would we stay there again? Definitely.

Tokyo here we come again!”
It was a memorable stay for all of us at Citadines Shinjuku hotel, especially when it is our first trip to Japan. We will all recommend Citadines Shinjuku hotel to our friends and relatives. We for sure will be back again to Tokyo, and Citadines Shinjuku Hotel will be our choice. Thank you all.

Good location and value”
If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Tokyo in a great location, this is a hotel worth considering. The hotel is a 15 min. walk from the east entrance of the Shinjuku station and 5-10 min. to 2 other subway stations; easy to get to from the Narita airport via Narita express train which stops at Shinjuku. The map on the hotel's website is helpful. The location of the hotel is great for going out for dinner and evenings - since taxis are expensive and trains stop at around midnight, we were advised by locals to choose a hotel location with regards to our evening activities. Getting around during the day is easier with the train and subways. We had a room on the 6th floor. The room is small but very modern and very clean with all the necessary amenities. Perfect for two for a short stay - where we were only in the room to sleep and out visiting all day and night. There is a kitchenette with small fridge & small safe is also available. With regards to the smoke - there is a faint cigarette smell in the hallways and also in our room but when the air conditioning was on, everything was fine. Staff is very helpful - even printed out a rebate coupon for us when we asked them about a restaurant we wanted to try. True that internet is not free however, in a costly city like Japan, this is not surprising.

Big Room!”
Enjoyed stay with citadines shinjuku hotel with good deal! Hotel rooms in Japan usually quiet small and not so much facility. Love they have a gym room in the ground floor, even is only a basis one but good for me to have a morning joy to start my day. As for the location is a bit far, we took lots of bus ride from the station to hotel, the bus stop is just right outside of the main door if you don't mind to spend a bit more on transportation fee; away from the crowd, nice to have goodnight sleep. Staff are very friendly, good English. Would stay here again when i visit Tokyo again

Bigger room with kitchenette”
We usually stay in Shinjuku and every time we stay somewhere different. We actually booked another hotel that is just outside the train station but only 15m square big. We have 2 28” luggage and to have them both open and walk around in the room is mighty difficult, so this time we opted to stay at Citadines Shinjuku. And most reviews are true, coming out of the train station, walking with your luggage and other carry-ons to the hotel might make the walk seem longer and tiresome. But 15 min is about a fair amount of time to walk. The hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. We kinda like that but it’s not unsafe by any means. We didn’t cook but I’m sure the kitchenette will come in handy for some and the room is big enough that we had both luggage open on the floor and could still walk around with no problem. The hotel also has a gym. This hotel met our needs, but if I really have to name one thing, it would be the location. But a little walk is good for you anyway.

A little Gem of a hotel ”
Small hotel in a quiet part of Shinjuku, it is a 10minute walk to the Shinjuku-Gyoemmae Station so it's very convenient as long as you don't have heavy luggage with you. The rooms are of adequate size, There is a mini kitchenette, a couch that turns into a sofa bed, and there's a double bed, 3 adults can fit in this room comfortably, or 2 adults and 2 kids. The Free internet is good. the rooms are very clean as well. The breakfast which is practically the same everyday is nothing special, it's around 850Yen per person. Not so worth it. There are lots of cafes and restaurants around the hotel especially in the side street on the way to the metro. There is also a 7/11 by the left side of the hotel, so close so very easy to grab breakfast from there too. There is also a park nearby the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden which is really a lovely place to relax from the hussle and bustle of the city. The concierge 'Sai' was very helpful in booking us a Taxi Van "MK Taxi" to the next hotel we were booked at as we were moving to the Tokyo Bay area for Disneyland. The other concierge Maiko or Miko the lady was not helpful at all.

Citadines: Comfortable & Affordable”
The Citadines hotel in the Shinjuku neighborhood of Tokyo was super clean, with a room slightly larger than I expected from online photos. The staff spoke English well. This was a good deal for an expensive city. However, be sure to ask for directions and a specific address; even our taxi driver could not find the hotel. (I did not eat there; rating below should really be "n/a.")

Citadines experience”
Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Citadines Hotel in east Shinjuku. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were clean with a comfortable bed and a minikitchen with small refigerator and stove. The elevator was secured by using your room key for operation. The location was quiet but convenient for travel in Tokyo. All together a great value!! Will definitely use this hotel in the future!!

Stylish Tokyo living”
We arrived in Tokyo in the middle of July, which is very hot and humid. It was my wife's first time in Tokyo, so it was important to impress her with an apartment hotel like Citadines Shinjuku. It is a short walk to Shinjuku station and everything you need is in the vicinity. I would definately suggest this hotel for anybody doing business or with family. The staff was very friendly and spoke English.

Spacious”
Citadines locates bit away from the center of Shinjuku, more residential area than Shinjuku's well known commercial and entertainment area which may be a disadvantage for a first time Tokyo visitor, but it offers spacious room including kitchen and extra living area, ideal for mid to long term stay for a couple or family. Staffs are fluent in English and very professional. Decent buffet style breakfast. And great accommodation for the price.

Wonderful boutique hotel”
A 3-4 minute walk from the Shinjuku Gyeonmae station, and so many food options along the way. Tokyo's champion Hinoya curry is also en-route - a definite must try! It is a little bit of a hassle if you have many luggages, but otherwise a very convenient location in a nice quiet neighborhood. Take a taxi from Shinjuku - it's only about 1000 Yen. The hotel is modern and very clean, and rooms are much more spacious than any other hotel in Tokyo I've stayed in so far (and at a fraction of the price). Wonderful staff as well - they happily helped us make restaurant reservations amongst other things. Will definitely come back during our next trip!
