In this budget, this is definitely best hotel I can find. Deluxe hotel is new one so it is well maintained, hardly see the mosquito.. You can see few but it is really normal in Island. There is new big supermarket opened right below the hotel so you can purchase anything you urgently need, it opens until 2 am. This only thing you have to think is you cannot carry towel to the beach, so you should prepare your own extra beach towel for your snorkeling. I specially recommend this hotel to single traveler. A bit small and not private to family travelers.

I stayed in this hotel with my husband in January, 2015. The hotel is new (built in 2014). We liked it in general. Rooms are clean and comfy, fresh linen, good breakfast (two choices – European and Asian). Located in the center of the island but as Koh Lipe is a tiny island it is very easy to get to any beach on foot. Very close to the Walking Street. What we didn’t like: 1. Very poor noise isolation. There was a group of Thai students during our stay, they were very noisy until 3 am every day, we couldn’t sleep well. 2. The hotel is located next to the trash dump so there is not nice view (if you take room looking at the pool on the second floor) and some flies got into our room when we opened the balcony door. 3. There is a strict rule in this hotel that all guests should take shoes off which was very annoying for us as Europeans. We respect Thai traditions but when we stay in a quite expensive hotel which considered to be modern and provide good service we expect it to be of one’s own free will but not a strict rule. 4. The hotel doesn’t provide beach towels (all other hotels in Thailand that we stayed in provided them). 5. Only one lady on reception speaks English (but they all are very friendly and helpful).

I stayed in deluxe balcony room for two nights around the end of November. The room was clean and come with wifi,air-cond,water heater,hair dryer,safe box,and mini bar. This hotel is located at center of walking street so it was easy to get around whether you going to the beach,restaurant,bars,7-eleven,or clinic,or dive centre . The boss and staffs are very helpful and friendly too . Just one problem is that sometime the wifi is quite hard to connect only . The price for rooms are reasonable and I definitely would come back to stay in this hotel when I come back to Koh Lipe.

Our stay at The Noi guesthouse was great, the staff is incredible and go out of their way to help you, from taxi ride to anywhere on the island, to helping us with our multiple questions and requests - and we had the best Thai food on the island at Noi. Location is perfect as you are in the center of the island and every beach is accessible so you're not limited to one of them - made our stay more fun since Koh Lipe is a very small island. The staff is always smiling, warm and welcoming - the rooms are clean and there is a cosy "chilling area" upstairs - we wouldn't stay anywhere else on Koh Lipe!

Traveled during 11 - 12 Oct 2016. This hotel has great location. In city center, a few minutes walk to walking street. Clean and the price is unbelievable. Staff was not proficient enough because he was confused with my booking. It took more than 30 minutes to sort out. I understand that things like this could happen. Everything was good until the last day when they started to do some repairing in a room next door at 7:45 AM. There was loud noise and I was still on bed and could't continue sleeping. Maybe because it was low season, and they though not many people stay there. Fixing something at 7:45 AM it too early. Hope only happen one time. Everything else is good. With the price as low as this, it is good to stay.

I would highly recommend San Pita due to its fantastic location which is just walking distance to the beach and Walking street where all the food and shopping is located in this island. If you're coming by ferry from Langkawi, wait for their hotel transport service after clearing immigration. They will take you to the hotel on a complimentary service. No need to book a motorbike taxi!

Spacious space, big bathroom and large double bed plus a day bed in the room. Suitable for family with children as they can sleep at the day bed. Verandah with a day bed, 2 chairs, a hammock and a wall fan, best for spending an afternoon if you don’t like sunlight and heat at the beach. Located in the center of island, at the end of walking street, within walking distance to 3 beaches. 7-eleven just around the corner.

I was afraid because there are so many bad reviews... but actually it wasn’t bad at all. I stayed at the room woth air conditioning. Room was correctly clean. But I can see the bathroom is old and not in good condition. So it’s not about cleaning. I met cleaning ladies almost every morning, thankfully they were working hard. :-) Staff was kind and helpful. They don’t offer breakfast. But there are so many restaurants and supermarkets just right next to the hotel. Location is center of walking street which is very convenient. Near Pattaya beach and sunrise beach both. I enjoyed much staying at Baan Karisin2.

My family and I are really love this place. We booked a private room which include a private restroom. The staff is very kind and friendly. He give us many suggestion which is very useful. The room is clean and cozy. The hotel location is very very good, which is located in the center of a walking street, near 7/11 and surrounded by many restaurant, easy access to everywhere. Some negative: There is no hot shower, however since the weather is very hot, it is no need. Moreover, room wall is a bit thin, can hear the room next door.

This is surely the best hostel on the island. It's extremely nice, comfortable and has a nice ambiance. The dorms are amazing and the price is fair for lipe. Be sure to book ahead, it's often full especially on weekends. I stayed at 3 places during my 9 nights on lipe (including another hostel and a private room at a budget hotel). Bloom was by far the best (but I'd only booked 4 nights so could not stay). The cafe also makes the best coffee I've had in Asia. And the bar staff are particularly lovely.

The hotel is nice, comfortable and mostly clean, a few spider webs and few ants here and there. Some of the rooms are rather small, but didn't bother us. Hotel is located quite center of the island, so there's nothing right next to it, but everything is at walking distance. Walking street maybe 3min walk, pattaya and sunrise beaches less than 10min. A few nice restaurants are very near. Staff is very nice and willing to help, breakfast is amazing! Fresh eggs just the way you want, fresh waffels and coffee are excellent. Can borrow free beach towels. We got feeling that we were very welcome. Would definetly come again!

We spend in corner resort hotel 5 nights and we felt like home. Tarn and Khemmy, the owner made us feel like if we were in home, both of them they are wonderful people, they help you with everything, thank you girls :-) The room was, fresh, new and the bed is very comfortable double bed. It's located two minutes walking to the walking street but it's quiet. If we ever come back to Koh lipe, definitely this will be our hotel.

We just can't be more satisfied on our decision of booking at Gecko Lipe. We originally booked here for 1 night to freely explore alternatives once in the island, but once there and doing a little research, we didn't think twice and stayed all our time (9 nights) there! The resort is located roughly in the center of the walking street, and from here is a truly short 5 min walk to either Sunrise Beach or Pattaya Beach - important since this allow you to freely explore both "sides" of the island at will, plus having all restaurants and stores at hand. Sunset beach is also easily accessed, 10-15 min walk. The resort opened last Dec so the facilities are brand new. They have just made a TERRIFIC work in the ambiance and decoration of this resort, with well maintained gardens and trees that provide a nice and refreshing spot when the sun hits. We noticed several guests that, just like us, stayed in their bungalow terraces after beach time, to enjoy the tranquility this resort offers. We upgraded to a Deluxe Bungalow; it had a really good mattress, a very large bathroom size plus a really nice terrace overlooking the garden with hammocks. I checked also the standard ones; they are very reasonable, and located (perhaps) in the more secluded and nicer half of the resort - so don't get fooled by their standard status! People at the front desk were really friendly and smiling, and took care of providing you the best time while at their resort. There is beer garden being built at the entrance of the resort as well as the expansion of the "main building" where a nice bar and terrace is projected. I also appreciated much that owners engaged their local workers in English classes and cared a lot about their living conditions, something doesn't occur frequently. I would not hesitate a minute to refer this resort to my friends and anyone. Thanks for making our stay at Gecko Lipe a marvelous time!!

we are 4 people, there's no people come to pick us at immigration even i've request when booking the room. taxi driver request 50 bath per person and told us it need walk about 30 mins from immigration, but the truth is only 10 mins walk from the beachside and taxi driver appointed the far direction way to us and cause us walk a big round about 30 mins only reach hotel. when we reach hotel, the Auntie wonder why we didn't ask for pick up, but i told her i already request and no 1 come pick us, she very angry and scold her male staff. i can't understand what she talking in Thai language but it seems funny :D . Overall the room is small but nice, WIFI very fast, at the walking streets very convenient. Value for money!

Best room type in Serene Resort. Only 2 units of this room available. The resort had a double booking and 2 of my friends had to downgrade to red cottage but were not happy with the dirty wall and old toilet. They had to move to another hotel managed by the same management. However, i like my room. Simple, clean, with good aircon and great ventilation, outside the room is the common area which usually unutilised and hence my friends and i max it out. Its a small resort. The red cottages r slidely older while the huts are certainly for the adventurous but it looks clean.

very good hotel. and on the center of Koh lipe. very friendly staff. and breakfast very good, but pls don't buy the snorkelling package on immigrate thr. due to (1) I buy short trip on first day and Long trip on second day. but on first day the co let me go Long trip first and not tell me this is Long trip. on second day, the co don't gv change , and want me change 500thai money then can let us go if not cannot go. (2) the co asked us wait on 9.30 but always 10.30 the boat ppl come, (3) one of the othr traveller tell us, they want to buy short trip (550 Thai money) but the company change them Long trip (650). (4) the incharge person always don't at the counter thr, always cannot find him. thus don't buy the snokelling package on immigration thr (Bunga resort one)

For me, the hotel is vey good location for budget trip. I think this hotel is the best hotel in Walking street on Lipe island. Another hotel is far from beach and restaurant or near the beach but looks bad. Staffs was good. Service is OK. If you looking for value hotel I think The box is the best choice. But If you want to stay in front of beach- Castaway resort is the best choice from my opinion. Also Mali resort and Bundahya look fine.

we loved everything about our stay at gipsy 2 rivendell. we had booked for 3 nights but ended up staying a month (until we had to go back home, otherwise we'd stayed longer...), which pretty much says it all. the bungalows are clean and simple and so nice, the whole place is very cozy, and it makes you feel like home - but on lipe, which is better. the couple that has the place are really sweet and they and their wonderful dogs made our stay the best. the location is good because it's in the middle of the walking street, but still quiet, so it's close to everything but also very calm and relaxing. we definitely recommend gipsy 2 and we want to return as soon as possible!

This hotel is just super awesome. I am a very experienced tourist, but I meet such lovely place and staff for the first time. The bungalow is super great. Clean. New. Fresh. People who work here is just super cool. They treated us better than we deserve :) Free transfer to ferry. Good laundry. Good breakfasts. When we were alone, instead of buffet for breakfast they just let us to order anything we want from their restaurant. For free! They guy on the reception is a very nice man. I have broken couple of glasses. No charges. So kind. The resort is situated in the center of the island. I think it is much better than to leave on the beach. 5 mins and you could get everywhere. Minuses: Wi-Fi is slow, but it is doesn't matter - buy 4G SIM card for 5$ and you will have fast and stable connection. No frige. This is really sad. And sometime (once a week) there is a noisy restaurant with loud music, BUT, other parts of the island even worse in this case. And they stop at midnight.

cool concept. noise from the bar isn't really a problem especially if you're staying at the farest row from it. MOSQUITOS. in the shower - be quick or be dead. repellent is a must. location on the map is inaccurate - hostel is located right on the street, so keep going 30m after home bar and you're there. for breakfast i recommend going back to the village (sunrise direction), turn right to where the end of walking street is located and use the first "restaurant" at the left where all school students get their food in the morning. for beach access - use the "private" road uphill to mountain resort - it will lead your to an end of a sunrise beach - best spot on the island imo. beach from their associated purithra hotel isn't any special really. i brought my own teabags and it was a wise decision - their common area only had coffee. wi-fi nearly dies if your room is located away from common area

We spent 1 night here in between Ko Lanta and Langkawi. PROS Centrally located within walking distance to the three major beaches Clean, hot showers and shared bathroom not far from rooms Clean room with fan (it's not during day so get air con if you can't handle warmth) Super friendly staff, especially Nikki, who was gracious and spoke excellent English Nice balcony and downstairs lounges to hangout Right next to main grocery store for all your needs Good W-fi

It is located in walking street just beside an ATM. But if you go there from the pier i would not recommend you to take the main walking street, coz on the one hand, it is too croweded, and the other if you are carrying a suicase it will be tiring to go throught the beach. There is a road just beside the pier which leads to the middle party of walking street. As for the hostel itself, it is ok. One thing that drives me crazy is the wifi, even worse than my data(actually my data didnt work well in the room as well). There is free water you can drink and a locker(no lock offered). The bunks is not so steady, i was afraid to wake the guy under my bed up during night when i turned around. There is no aircon but the fan works well. Simple place to stay with small budget
