Where to stay in City Center
City Center hotels & accommodations
Very good stay. Can only recommend it. Very big and good breakfast. Easy to get into the city center. Very quiet rooms
the staff was very helpful with us. they helped us book all our connections to koh samui. in addition, they where very helpful in other aspects. the decor is a bit outdated, but beautiful and clean and i must say that this is probably the best hotel in surat thani!
Stayed here for a night en route to Samui. From the airport, we took the Phantip bus to town for 100 baht and got off the last stop at Phantip bus station at town center. The hotel was just a 3 min walk down the street from there. Easy to find! During the night, we walked to the night market just around the corner which serves great local food for cheap! Hotel was in t...
Mixed feelings about this hotel. The room was very nice for Thailand -- first place I've stayed in with carpet. I paid extra for the deluxe room. Everything seemed to be very clean and modern. The hotel is located about halfway between the city center and the airport so if you're in transit between the 2, it's a good location. There is nothing near the hotel besides a...
The location is not really in the city center but you can get grab or easily walk out of the alley to Tesco Lotus (5 minutes walk). The room is perfect, it has everything you need during the stay. They also has breakfast between 7 till 10 AM.
We were staying at this nice and clean hotel for 2 separate nights on our way to and from Koh Samui. The rooms were clean and spacious. It had everything we needed. Check-in was fast and seamless. We were greeted politely by all staff, except for one staff on our first night's check-in. There were some tissues missing in one of our rooms on the second stay. Staff were ...
Famous hotel in city, with river view, hotel is clean, even open since 30 yrs ago, but all facility still be good. Hot water , air con, TV, swimming pool. Located in city center, BF is good taste, but no warm.
good hotel just over the bridge from city center . we rented a motorbike so was easy to get around ..it as a nice swimming pool .the rooms are clean and big ...breakfast as i sayd ok if you eat thai food too ..otherwise you will find only fried eggs ( cold) sausagges and ham ...same every day but i would come back
Cheap and valuable place but quite far from city center (5 km.), the room is not spundproofed but overall is exellent
I was trying to book train ticket online but was not able to do it. The staff of the hotel helped to buy the tickets for us. She was also showing us where to go and ear even she was away in Laos.
Hotel is excellent at this cost. Good location (city center with food area nearby), big & clean room, nice bed, helpful staff, big slot parking. Not modern style hotel, but good renovation, only that air con is a bit loud.
As we arrived late by plane from Bkk, we decided to book a room for a night, instead of taking the night boat. I saw this place already a few times appear in my searches for rooms in Surat, but they were always fully booked. Now I have stayed there, I understand why they were full so often. This place is far out one of the best ones in Surathani. It is located in the...
This residence is excellent for travelers who are passing through, ie, making a connection from Bangkok to the islands. It is clean, professional, new building with very friendly and attentive staff. The location is good, it's mid-way between the airport and the pier (going to the islands of Samui, Phagang, etc) and is in the city center of Suratthani. However, Suratt...
I was really miffed that this hotel list itself as city center, and location location! It is a 6.5 km taxi ride to the city center and bus station. I booked "city center" to be able to catch a early morning bus. They are perpetrating seriously false advertising. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay and the staff were very cordial. It was surprising that a hotel cateri...
Nice hotel, clean and good facilities. Just don't book here thinking it's in the city center, it's quite isolated and you can't walk anywhere - there is nothing around, no 711, no restaurants, no markets. Unless you have transport you're pretty much stuck at the hotel.
we stayed in grand deluxe room, it's very spacious with separated toilet and shower room. the location is good in city center. breakfast is nice especially for you who like local thai food. the only problem we had was we could hear karaoke noise from downstairs restaurant until midnight, there was a party there. also the shower room should have a separated wet area...
After wonderful trip to Koh Samui, we had a transit stay at Surat Thani before leaving for home. Not much mentioned regarding the town. But, the location of the hotel was convenient. Convenient store and restaurant can be found next road. The riverside night market was a bit far from the hotel but still within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. W...
Omg! I did not expect anything from this hotel and the city. I have never been that wrong. The room is more than perfect, like a five star accommodation in anywhere. If you want to see true Thailand and meet with very kind people, please choose this hotel. The owner, she was really kind and I felt this is her masterpiece. Indeed. Will come back as I have the chance and...
Very clean place. Room and bathroom were great. Staff knew a bit of English but were as helpful as they can be. Was quite out the way from the city centre so had to get a taxi down.
We stayed in this hotel for the night before catching ferry to Samui the next day. The staff were very efficient and made our stay as comfortable as possible. There are a few food stalls(fried chicken and bbq fish) which made for a good dinner option as there were hardly any other restaurants near the hotel.
Rooms are really nice, especially the bathrooms. Nice pool. Visited the spa for 90 minute aromatherapy massages based on other reviews. Unfortunately, they were terrible. We were in the same room which was great, but my husband's masseuse must have had a cold and she sniffed NON-STOP. It was disgusting to the point where he really wanted to end it and walk out. The...
We only had one night before catching a ferry to the islands. The location is a bit out from downtown, but catching a grab car to the city center was incredibly quick. 15-20 minutes. After an amazing dinner in town, we came back to Sucholtee to enjoy some wine out of the ornate tea set in the room while enjoying the sounds of the jungle. We did wake up to a cute lit...
We booked the hotel as an overnight stop-over since we arrived in the afternoon and our flight was the next morning. The hotel is a 200 THB ride from the city center. The rooms are big, clean and come with free wifi and complimentary breakfast. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They offer a taxi service to the airport (30 min away) for 600 THB in a real car, not ...
We booked two rooms at this hotel, we had the deluxe and our friends the superior duplex..(we both wanted the superior but there was not enough left). Both rooms for the price to be fair, was spectacular! I think the hotel should be rated higher than 3 stars! I have stopped in "5*" places that where definitely of much lower quality! Our friends room with the gardened b...
This is the best price for stay food was excellent room are cleaned staff will give you all information and helpful as you asked good for spending night before your flight or go to Koh Samui Island. Also limo taxi will cost you about 400 from the airport to hotel.if you want to go to shopping center Taxi meter start 35 THB and Top up totally price 20 THB for service
I stayed 3 times in this hostel and really enjoyed it. The rooms are clean, beds are nice (and big), there is a TV, fridge and AC. The staff don't speak English very well, but always try the help if possible. The hotel is not in the city center, but you can rent a scooter for a fair price. If you go to Surrat Thani I would really recommend this hotel. Also check out th...
One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. I stay in many 5 star luxury hotels in the world but honestly the service and the overall experience. Perfect location, 10 mins away from the center. The hotel room is really clean, staff very friendly and helpful. I will be returning for sure!!!!!
Apart from value for money, nothing else were met expectation, no napkin in restroom nor in the room itself. Good location, poor garage management.
This greenery resort is worth to stay, you can relax here like a home. Room is clean, and large space. Our big family stay in Family room for 6 people, all amenities and room facilities are good. There are 3 bedrooms with living area, and 2 bathrooms. Swimming pool is big too next to the river. Don't forget to try enjoying in cayaking or rolling boat. The restaurant s...
Booked this hotel as a stop over on way home from Koh Phangan to make an early flight and got a lot more than expected. The hotel is situated away from the main town (Which has very little of interest anyway) in a peaceful riverside setting. Very modern and in good condition, the room was well appointed with a decent TV, kettle and mini fridge. Very big comfy bed, ni...
Cheap places to stay in City Center
Very clean and quiet hostel with comfortable beds. Well furnished, near enough to Surat Thani airport but a little far from town centre. Toilets were clean but the drain was smelly. Airport or island transfer bookings available at hostel reception.
I stayed with my spouse and son for a night. Firstly, Hotel is quite popular in city and on the way to city center route of air port service bus. So from airport one can reach the hotel very comfortably. What i liked the most about this hotel is the management understanding of the guest needs, very good wifi coverage, movie CDS, FREE cycles, tour arrangement, Tuk-tuk a...
Everything was excellent except bad smell inside elevator. Inside is perfect clean and modern. There is also free water, hot water, coffee , tea and last two day was bananas. Good location. Near port, bus station, night market, green market and food fest.

Surat Thani is no tourist hotspot which was good as it provided a true Thai experience.. The hostess was incredibly helpful and happy to have us. The room was satisfactory with the bed being pretty uncomfortable but for the cost you can't really complain. Good if you need a place for a night or two
It a nice place to stay for a short time especially for the backpackers. Have a nice view from the room to see the amazing city centre of Surat Thani.
We had no problems here. It's a simple hotel but it was clean and cheap. The staff didn't speak much English but they were very helpful. The owner walked to the street with us to get the bus and told the bus driver where we wanted to be dropped off at (an office for a ferry to the islands wasn't far).
We have been traveling SEA for over a year and this is by far the best value for money. We loved these modern rooms so much we extended for another week in a town not known for much except as a stopover on the way to the Islands. . But the amazing young family showed us great quality local life by taking us on food tours at the local markets eating at the best places...
My boyfriend and I only stayed here for one night as we were catching a ferry to Samui the next morning, but found it was pretty underwhelming. The room was clean and the staff was helpful and there is plenty of space to socialize, but overall it was unimpressive. The room was very very tiny. Take the word "box" in Hip Box literally as that's exactly what the rooms are...
The only reason we chose this hotel is because it is close tothe Lompraya Sorat-city station in which we had to be early the next morning. Beside that, this place is apparently a rendezvous place for couples looking for discretion.
we stayed here because we had an 8:30am flight out of surat thani airport the next day (we were coming from koh phangan). the owner, ball, is super helpful and picked us up from the ferry free of charge. there are a couple of restaurants around the guesthouse, but mostly it's residential - we got some stares for obviously being tourists. it's a good location if you'...
This is a budget hotel. It is clean, the owner very friendly. She gave us a map and had written the address in Thai, called us a TUk Tuk and had our breakfast ready promptly at 7:30. We had a short layover and this place was perfect. It is in a quiet neighbourhood away from the city center and you have to share a bathroom.
Nice small resort closed to Surat city.
The bed was a wooden board and the rooms looked like you rent them per hour usually.
this place is very clean, has hot water, aircon, big comfy beds, wifi, and was super cheap. it's a little out of the way, but the owner will pick you up; he also dropped us off in the city center for food. and when one of us left an iphone accidentally, he called us immediately to let us know, and held onto it until we passed through surat thani a week later.
First of all, the rooms wasn't ready when we got there. There were no toiletries, no tv nor hot and cold shower. The l Manager kept on telling us that the breakfast was free. When we saw the food there was nothing grand with a few toast and coffee.
my wife and i enjoyed the hotel. i was ther for business, and my wife visited with her daughter at a nearby university. the hotel is pretty centrally located, and good for that. it is, however, hard to find. i recommend you get the telephone number and give it to the taxi driver to help you find the place. it is off the beaten track. the decor is nicely old fashione...
This hotel was really good value for money. We only had one night here as a stopover before catching our boat the next day, but it was definitely a good choice. Although it's located slightly out of the city centre it was easy to find and the taxi was still cheap to get back in the next morning. The room itself was great! very spacious with nice furnishings and also ve...
Place is not far from center of Surathani city. Suitable for who love for quiet place to sleep. Overall is okay in the budget. Staff is nice but cannot answer for local place questions.
If you have car , there's a another place to stay. room is quite new and clean but nothing much. You get what you pay.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Gave suggestions, and answered questions. A good value for the price.
This is the best price for stay food was excellent room are cleaned staff will give you all information and helpful as you asked good for spending night before your flight or go to Koh Samui Island. good
I booked the Lagoon rooms for two nights, on our arrival the staff had made some mistakes in reservations, we ended up having a free upgrade to the Suite for first night, and Deluxe room for second night. The Suite was clean and beautiful, but the small balcony didn't offer a nice view - facing a vacant land (the unpleasant smell from the pond was strong too). There we...
3km from bus station. We stayed here for 2 nights since we had been travelling for 30+h. On our way to Koh Samui. If you are travelling with a friend or a couple this is a great place to stay. 3min to local market for cheap food, 2min to closest 7 eleven and 10mins by foot to closest shopping center. Breakfast was bread, chinese rice porridge with pork and juice, tea, ...
1. Location : In the heart of Surat Thani town centre. Near to the Night Market and Central Plaza. 2. Food : Have not seen any halal restaurant near the hotel. Central Plaza got halal kiosk. 3. Shopping : Night Market near the hotel. 4. Facilities : Internet was good in the room. Lift provided. Room and toilet very clean. Toiletries provided. Big space for car par...
Clean room and friendly staff. Perfect if you take a early morning ferry to koh samui. Asked for a taxi to the pier and the owner braught us there for free!
Pros: Big and clean room with a fridge and kettle. 2 bottles of drinking water and coffee provided. Drinking water machine and laundry next to reception. Cons: The room only had a fluorescent light and no bedside tables. No power points next to the bed. Reception was most of the time unattended. Location a bit far from the city centre (bus station, night market etc....
The hotel was located in some quiet corner of the city. Location is not superb however the room and bed were good. The breakfast was provided with some bread, fruit and coffee.
The location works because it’s across the street from a mall so you can get some food and walk around. There doesn’t seem to be much to do in this city besides wait for your connecting bus, ferry, or flight so it was nice to hang in a hotel room where we didn’t feel gross being in. We stayed a night before our ferry to Koh Samui, and then booked another night on our r...
