The nearby Sisowath Quay area is recommended, famed for its restaurants and nightlife along the riverside. Give it a chance”
We had a few teething problems when we checked in, but another guest told us the hotel was worth the chance and he was so right! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were great and it was good to be in the city centre (in both ways). Although it’s near a number of bars it’s actually very quiet and all the main central attractions are walking distance. Thanks again!
Good value for money”
We loved the free breakfast, very accommodating staff, big beds and big toilet in the family room. Only that the location is situated along pubs and bars. but it is OK since we only stayed for one night.
Great staff and location”
Had a few issues with the room the staff take care of everything quickly and professionally. The room was ok good shower and great bed very comfortable. Location is perfect in the heart of the city. Bottom line the 2 key points of this hotel is excellent staff and location.
excellent hotel ”
Excellent hotel. The reason I say that I booked into one first seriously run down . So I left yes 15 dollars but for peace of mind it worth every penny This hotel room clean every day staff are amazing safe in my room.. Lovely breakfast, hot water comfortable bed. 20 dollars a nite.. Worth every penny.. Would recommend to anybody..
this place was awesome. it was close to everything while not being right in the center of everything and the staff were just amazing. they're accommodating and friendly and ready to help out whenever you need something. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever back
Would stay again”
The room is small, and aircon didn't work most the night and was constantly dripping. Staff were nice. It's right outside a big red light district, and I think they cater to it, but it's a block outside so it's not loud and not an issue.
Good location, Small rooms and limited services”
Arrived at hotel slightly earlier than usual check-in time. You'll find couple of receptionist welcoming you. They try their best to help you by speaking in English and offering drinks but funnily enough they forgot to mention my room number or which floor or to give room key. It may be one of the exceptional case but better to keep in mind if you want to avoid hassle of running around a few times. Expect rooms to be smaller than what you see in pictures but good enough for a couple of nights sleep. Surprisingly washrooms are big and good. Breakfast is ala-carte. Taste-wise it is okay but nothing to boast or shout about. You find tuktuk waiting just outside hotel 24/7. Tuk tuk is best way to see around PP. Hotel's best advantage is it's location- Bars, pubs, riverside, central market and Russian market are all within 3$ (max) travel by tuktuk. Enjoy your stay in City Centre, Phnom Penh. This place is good for a no-frills, easy going and clean stay. I recommend it for a short stay.
building noise from 7am”
great location to centre and still quiet UNTILL 7am when some building work starts and the drilling and hammering keeps you from sleep which is not nice when you had a late night, which is sort of why you choose this location
Health hazardous stay ”
We woke up itching and found crawling bedbugs on our bodies. My partner started to have bad rashes in the morning. When informed, the hotel staff didn't offer any assistance, not even for some antiseptic soothing cream, except saying sorry! Stay at your own risk.
Sleepless first night. Bitten by bed bugs on the body, head and face. Caught a few to show to the staffs. Requested for another room. Toilet stink, not clean properly. Staffs are friendly. Management are to be blame for a poorly-run hotel. You have been warned!
before i booked this place, i read reviews and mostly complain about the aircond woes. believing that they would or have already work on it, i confidently booked but i was wrong as the room has aircond issues too, just blowing wind. the staff even told me to wait for 10 minutes and it will get cooler. i dont blame the staffs as they are helpful but the management need to seriously look into this aircond issue. other than this everything fine
Best Value for money hotel in Phnom Penh!”
Love this hotel. I've stayed here a few times now and can't fault it or the staff. It's in a great position, close to the river, eateries, markets and many entertainment venues. It's my place to stay in Phnom Penh. Thanks again for a great stay.
Great Value, Clean, and Friendly Staff”
Centrally located at a couple blocks from the River, walking distance to the Central Market, and Night Market, this hotel is one of my favorites. Every time we visit Phnom Penh, we make a point of staying here. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there are many bars and restaurants nearby.
Hotel location is about 7 minutes on foot from central market toward Mekong River. It is about 7 minutes on foot from the hotel to the night market and about 10 minutes on foot to the Mekong River. About 5 minutes on foot to Pub Street, 3 minutes on foot to convenience store (drug store). The first floor has a bar and a reception. On December 31, free meals were offered. (Beer 1 USD) Owner and staff are bright, friendly and helpful. Guests are mainly Westerners. Killing Fields, Toul Sleng Genocide Museum will arrange with 15 USD. (Tuk -tuk) To the airport is 7USD by Tuk-tuk. The room is compact. Air conditioning is perfect. Cleaning of rooms and shower rooms will be done every day carefully. Towels and toothbrushes are available. There is a refrigerator, a security box and a TV.
our stay was good. hotel was clean, but the room was narrow. stayed only for 1 night so it was fine. the male staff from the reception (forgot his name) was very accomodating. he did his best to arrange our bus transfer to siem reap. thanks to him, so im giving it a 5 star for the staffs. eventhough the female staff who assisted us for our food order during the settlement of our bus was a little rude.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are glad that Kasem, male staff, was helpful for you. We apologies for any behavior from staff that was less than excellent. Staff pride themselves on providing the best service. Thanks again for your review Regards Roy Edwards Director Operations
Excellent hotel. Thoroughly recommended ”
Staff at the front of the hotel (check in and bar staff) were kind, welcoming, and always cheerful / on hand to help. Room itself superb for the price. Good bed, nice air con, good shower facilities and plenty of sockets and storage space. Housekeeping staff were excellent also. Very hard working and respectful towards guests. The hotel location was excellent. Close to pretty much anything worth walking to. And also plenty of eating and drinking options only a stone's throw away. Will stay again for sure if / when i visit PP again
Thank you Rich for taking the time to give your feedback. We are always glad when a guest has a great time. I will pass on your comments to staff. Numbers of power sockets is also important to me. Especially in this day and age when we need to charge phones, tablets, laptops etc. As well as sockets that take all manner of plugs from US to European and Australian. Thanks again for your kind words Regards Roy Edwards Director Operations
great budget riverside hotel”
City Centre Hotel is a great centrally located hotel near Phnom Penh's riverside ... every thing works here: air con, elevator, hot water, room cleaned daily, very friendly helpful English speaking staff ... City Centre is close to night life, transport (bus and train stations) ... guest friendly (with ID)
Mike, Thanks for taking the time to provide this review. So glad you enjoyed your stay with us in one of our popular Budget rooms. We do have other rooms available(Queen & King size) for a few dollars more. But seems you had a great time during your visit Regards Roy Edwards Director Operations

I've been staying in this hotel each time I visit. The staff are very helpful. All the staff speak English so whatever information you need will be to your satisfaction. This hotel is pretty central. The City Centre is 12-15mins walk. Two markets are nearby and there's plenty of food around.THe night market is also within walkjing distance. If you need to visit places the tuk tuks are in front of the hotel.
Thank you for taking the time to give this review We appreciate the feedback. Its always interesting to know where exactly the City Centre is? The Original birth place of Phnom Penh is believed to be Wat Phnom, now a Pagoda on a Hill surrounded by a road a 12-15 Minute walk. The new City Centre used by online booking agencies is a new Development out of town on the way to the airport maybe an hours walk. We believe that the City Centre has historically been the area near the Royal Palace and encapsulating the Foreign Correspondents club and other Historic French Colonial buildings. If we use this as the Centre then City Centre Hotel is approximately 500 metres away. We believe we are here to give guests experiences not just a bed to sleep in. so our staff act accordingly to make your stay pleasant. Glad you enjoyed their efforts Thanks again for the review Roy Edwards Director Operations
Value for money and convenient”
Located near to the awesome riverbank, close to night market, cruise port, restaurants, and for those who like night life, it is very near to the bar street. Walking distance to the Royal Palace, Museum, Wat, etc.
Thank you for your feedback Glad you enjoyed your stay. Roy Edwards Director Operations
