A real city garden”
Makati is one of the nice places in Metro Manila. It has lots of expensive hotels and never mind cheapos. City Garden Hotel is neither. It is priced just right but has all the amenities even free bottled water supplied everyday. It is very clean and linens are fresh and not worn out. Try to book with buffet breakfast included. Breakfast can be lunch or dinner. It serves food good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I enjoy most the chocolate beverage. There are lots of affordable restaurants, banks, and malls around. I enjoyed my facial and massage at the spa. If your flight is late in the day it is safe to leave luggages with front desk. City Garden is my hotel when I go to Manila. You get more for your money.
During my three-week-long stay in the Philippines I was travelling to different parts of the country but City Garden Hotel Makati was my base in Manila. I loved the two times that I stayed there, with the hotel's excellent staff from reception to restaurant to phone operator to housekeeping! They were all personable, efficient, and responsive to my needs. When I had a wifi problem in my room the first time I stayed there, they were quick to install an access point, and even offered to change my room if the problem had persisted. The second time I checked in, the hotel gave me a room upgrade to compensate for the wifi problem I had had on my first stay. I will definitely stay at City Garden on my next trip to Manila.
This was my first time staying in City Garden Hotel. Check in was quick, except that the smoking room i requested for was unavailable, so i had to wait, but nevertheless the hotel manage to get me the room before 2pm. Staff was responsive n friendly, everything that i requested for was attended to immediately. Location of the hotel was excellent, right in the middle of the busy Makati Ave, with lots of restaurants on either side of it. Century Mall n the A venue mall is just a 5 mins walk. Room size was perfect, and if there was any issue, it would be with the shower head. If only they could have a extended shower head instead of it being mounted onto the wall. But size of the bath tub was great, not to high, so easy to climb in n out of the bath tub ! Wanted to have a late check as my flight back was in the evening, but unfortunately the hotel was fully book on the day. Will definitely be back in City Garden, or may just try their other branch just across the road, City Garden Grand
Good value in good location”
We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly, it was a pleasant change to have a room with hardwood floors (I am always a little leery about what has crept into a hotel's carpeting over time), and a window that could be opened. The breakfast buffet was quite extensive and tasty, we got a room on the penthouse floor with a nice view over the city. The hotel does show show a few signs of age but not enough to be a distraction. The location is on the edge of the business sector of Makati and the part of town where typical big city life connect (there are many restaurants around but also some nightclubs). We would definitely return to the City Garden Hotel. By the way, it is very, very confusing that kitty-corner form the City Garden Hotel there is a brand new hotel called the Garden City Grand Hotel.
Room with a view.”
1st time we have tried this hotel, there are 2 hotels this 1s city garden hotel and city garden grand hotel. don't get mixed the grand is newer @x3 the price. This 1s great for a few nights, staff very friendly always willing to help plenty taxis, roof pool great clean, pool staff great, plenty low priced philippino eat in or out places, to the right of front entrance 300Mtr walk outdoor nite market stage band, drinks and food bbk, fish, pizza takeway or sit for top up. The only negative was our room 922 only had 1 window that didn't let much natural light to the room, the other window well seemed to be looking into a black hole no practical reason for this inner window to be there at all,I can give a suggestion to the property fit lcd screens over these windows, with a sky, beach, sun anything bright to light the room, so apart from that we will come again but will request a room with a view.
Thank you Rob for your insights and we really appreciate your time in sharing to us your valuable feedback. We will arrange an Executive Deluxe room for you on your next visit as these rooms have a bigger window directly facing the panoramic city of Makati. Nevertheless your suggestions are duly noted and we shall do our best to look into these. We are all looking forward in welcoming you back with us soon.
Nice hotel in convenient location”
this was my third stay at city garden. the hotel is centrally located in makati with the sm mall just a short cab ride away. the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated but, make sure you ask for a room with a view because there are are few claustrophobic rooms with no windows. the free breakfast has improved over my last stay. there is a nice variety of food and the servers are attendant. be sure to stop by the rooftop open air restaurant and swimming pool. i will stay again at city garden on my next visit to makati.
In the heart of makati only couple minute cab ride from anything. several bars, restauraunts and night clubs within easy walking distance less than a block. This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in! we stayed at the shangri la in november the room at city garden was nicer!! the rooftop pool and bar were beautiful. they were out of standard room so i was upgraded i will never stay anywhere else when im in manila from now on.
Great Restaurant/Staff & Awesome Roof-Top Pool!”
Our family of 4 stayed for 6 nights. The staff was super-friendly. The buffet breakfast was a great way to start out each day. The roof-top pool was a bit small, but our kids had a blast each day visiting the pool in the late morning and late afternoon. The pool workers were always very friendly and always offered us towels for each person swimming. The pool area also had a nice area to change and to shower off. The views from the roof-top were also a great perk. The bathroom in our room was a bit small, but it was CLEAN and the shower had exceptional pressure. Whenever we needed some towels or toilet paper or anything else, there was super-quick service to bring it to us. If we ever have to stay in the Makati area again, we will definitely be returning to The City Garden Hotel!
Stayed at this hotel with our 5 year old kid. Our room was very clean and linens were new. I had no issues with the air condition. We were located on a high floor and had no street noise. The pool area is very nice. Our son enjoyed the pool and the Pool Attendant was very friendly. I used the gym which has modern equipment. Wifi was fast. Food was great. We will definitely come back. Thank you City Garden Hotel Makati for the wonderful stay!
Comfortable and Clean”
City Garden hotel is located on Makati Ave., but on a part of Makati Avenue which is more like any typical Manila street and not as you might know Makati Avenue for. The advantage is there are all kinds of restaurants, laundries and supermarkets around in easy reach as well night clubs etc. The rooms are large and clean with useful furniture with a lot of storage space for your belongings. If you in a room on the higher floors then you can enjoy the stunning view over Makati. The view from the roof top pool is breathtaking. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and considering the hotel for my next stay. Internet works very well and is free of charge.
A gem of a Hotel”
We stayed in this Hotel from January 10 to 12 and from January 22 to 24. The rooms have been of absolutely high standard, clean and all amenities you are looking for have been in place. The staff is very helpful and efficient from the reception to the service in the restaurant. The restaurant and pool on the roof top is a fantastic spot with a marvellous view over the whole of Manila. Everything in this Hotel was superb. Perhaps the only thing that we did not like, was the food. But i must admit that the same thing hit me everywhere in the Philippines. They must be all suffering from Diabetes. Everything tasted sweet, even the ham ! After 2 weeks in the Philippines, we have been completely sugared up. We still can highly recommend the City Garden Hotel as it is safe, clean, central and got everything you need.
Excellent hotel in Makati in great location ”
Excellent hotel in Makati. Stayed here just for a might because it was very conveniently located near airport and a lot of restaurants, mall, clubs and bars. The following stood out for me: - for the price paid, room was large - bathroom and amenities are very clean - sauna and swimming pool was an unexpected perk in this price range - staff customer service was exceptionally polite Overall a great place for stay in Makati or Manila.
Great Room and Views”
Despite a mystery cancellation of my initial reservation between Agoda and City Gardens Reservations department. I can't say who is at fault but after about 2 hours of long distance calls between AGODA and CITY GARDEN STAFF we were able to straighten this out. I thought I was in deep trouble with my fiance on this one. My fiance enjoyed her stay and the hotel staff allowed her and her girlfriend to enjoy the room! They allowed her to have a small get together in the room and even Karaoke throughout the night! All in all a great experience except for the reservation snafu that did not seem to be the staff's fault. Thank you for being understand with my anger and frustration while I was dealing with this!
Simply the best”
City Garden Hotel Makati is one of the best hotels in the Philippines. This hotel exceeds my expectations in terms of value for money and professionalism of staff. Unlimited Wifi access was an advantage. Room was spacious with nice bathtub. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives.
wonderful hotel in metro manila”
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the City Gardens Hotel in Makati. We stayed in a room on a high floor that had large windows and a fabulous view of the green space in Makati. Our room was very nice with hardwood floors and comfortable furniture. The hotel staff was polite and they saw to our every need. The location of the hotel was ideal for shopping and sight-seeing.
Value for Makati ”
The hotel is rated as one of the best in Manila for the price and I agree. The price does fluctuate quite a bit in the 2 weeks I was in the area, I saw it vary $20/10,000 pesos in just a day or two. Staff is friendly, rooms are really good. Highlight is the breakfast which is a bargain. They have everything you could possibly want and the omelette chef Anna made me the finest omelette I’ve had in years I quite honestly could stay at City Garden alone just from Anna’s omelette!!!! The entire staff especially those in the restaurant are top notch!
City Garden weekend”
I had high expectations for city garden after reading some good reviews and it being highly recommened. I was a bit let down overall. First of all there is a lack of elevators in the hotel (2) that are shared with the staff. The wait is long and the elevators are always full. The location is great, close to restaurants and nightlife. Not a very family friendly area. The mini-bar was very reasonable, so I didn't mind paying for drinks in the room. Room service was also reasonable and tasty. My room would have been very good but it had a big support beam that took up a lot of the room:) The bathroom was clean and not very fancy, expected at this price point. Overall I was satisfied with my stay but I can't say I was blown away. I thought based on the reviews that it would be nicer.
Best all-around hotel for family or couples in Makati with gym included”
Always enjoyed staying at City Garden. Friendly staff, comfortable beds and a decent gym with a view overlooking Makati. Just wished staff would use a service elevator as it's common to see staff take the elevator and delay me getting into my room asap. Valet parking is always available. Recommended overall though and would stay again.
The location of makati city garden hotel is one of its advantage, being a frequent traveller its really a plus to stay in a hotel near the heart of the city. Although the hotel doesnt have the caliber like the manila peninsula but the value of money isthere. My stay in the hotel wasnt for business trip , thus, i care less in my accommodation but the staff was really attentive. Basic needs are inside the room, and by the way its the first hotel ive ever seen which sells condoms inside your own room, great!
City Garden has become my go to hotel in the Makati area. Their prices are competitive, their location is great and the staff is professional, friendly and helpful. They welcome me and my wife back every time we stay there and they go out of the way to make sure everything is okay during our stay.
