"The people who work there are genuinely friendly and really work to make your experience one worth remembering. I stayed in the camping pods outside and it was cosy and cute. The facilities were always clean no matter what time it was. The self catering kitchen is nice and big so there wasn't a time were we had to wait in a queue to eat. It's great value for money. It's cheaper than staying inside the actual hostel AND you get to use all the hostel facilities for FREE! I would definitely go back there. The peacefulness was definitely my favourite part and waking up to the beautiful lake aswell"

"Had a lovely 5 night stay at this B & B. A great location right in the centre of Ambleside close to shops, pubs and restaurants, traditional and warm atmosphere with friendly and hospitable hosts. Only downside a teeny bit of noise from square at back of the property."

"We had a large room, overlooking the lake, with French doors and Juliet balcony - huge comfortable bed and nice decor. One small niggle, there's very little hanging space in the wardrobe. It was fine for us as we were only there for a short break, but for a longer stay I would want a bit more. Great food in the restaurant, besutifully cooked and presented, and the staff were without exception helpful and friendly. Spa facilities amazing, BUT you need to book in advance for treatments. I was disappointed not to be able to have a massage as they were booked up nearly a week ahead! Overall, a great experience and I would recommend this hotel, nestled in its beautiful setting in Grasmere."
