Asahikawa hotels & accommodations

Would like to show my appreciation to JR INN asahikawa hotel staff. They are very very helpful to help us solve problem. We have a urgent document sent from Singapore to Hokkaido. Unfortunately, my friend wrote the hotel address without unit number. DHL was not able to deliver our document in time. Thanks god JR inn asahikawa staff were very very helpful and help us ca...

We stayed at Premier hotel cabin Asahikawa for 2 nights from 29th Oct to 31st Oct. The hotel situates in a very convenient location, only few minutes walk from Asahikawa JR train station. There was also Aeon mall right next to the train station, which has many restaurant and also food court. The hotel room was clean and cozy and comes with all amenities needed. They al...

I stayed for 1 night in October when we drove through Asahikawa towards Sounkyo Gorge. It was very special as it's rare to have a hotel with natural hot spring in the city centre. And the onsen is very nice and definitely worth a try. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Their English was a bit broken, but just enough to communicate. One of the h...

+ Location is on mountain, Sounkyo, Kamikawa.. Clean atmosphere + you can request Free shuttle bus from/to Sapporo and from/to Asahikawa Schedule from Sapporo to Choyo is 11.30 at JR Sapporo north exit. Schedule from Choyo to Sapporo or Asahikawa is 09.30 + Outdoor Onsen + Excellent buffet (dinner and breakfast) - No wifi at room - Location is far away from city, need...

Stayed 3 nights at Hotel Route Inn Grand Asahikawa. Hotel is directly opposite to the JR station and walking distance to the shopping street and nearly eateries, best location in town. Hotel is new and so are the rooms, which is clean but still smell of renovation. Had a double room with 2 pax occupancy, room is rather smallish and packed with luggage with basically no...

The location of the hotel is just a few blocks away from the JR station and it is easy to find the way to it with google map! The staffs are super friendly and willing to help! Thanks to them we found good restaurants nearby. (Special thanks to Erika!) The rooms (twin room and four-people Japanese western style room) are large and comfortable! The toilet and the ba...

Last spring break, I stayed two night at Court Hotel Asahikawa. Based my opinion, this hotel is located very near from JR Asahikawa Station. Around 5 minutes by walking. The receptionist could speak little English but they need to improve their English skill. The room is very pleasurable. There is a big window inside. But the room is little bit small. The king bed and ...

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights from 6-11 October 2019, and we'd happily recommend this hotel to overseas guests for reasons of good location, great service and comfort. The hotel is located right next to the bus terminal and the Asahikawa JR station, hence, location is not an issue if you are coming to Asahikawa by train or bus. The hotel is also right next to t...

Easily accessible, we boarded the bus from bus station outside JR asahikawa. Can purchase bus tickets from Lawson which is 3 steps away from the bus stop. Nice 2-hr journey up to Asahidake and alight at last stop outside ropeway station. 3-5 mins walk to bear monte onsen Hotel. Hotel is nice and cosy.

We booked japanese room no smoking with private bathroom. Room is ok but you have to make futon beds by yourself. The mattress is a bit harder but for 1 night is ok. The toilet is cold and pretty small (smaller than any hotel I stayed in Japan), toilet bowl is not electric ones so it's not warm when you sit on. Need to pay additional 300 yen for bath tax even we don't...

We visited Furano and spent the day at the flower farms. Arrived at Asahikawa around 7pm. Checking in was fast and efficient and the counter staff suggested the local favourite for dinner - Asahikawa Ramen. Gave us detailed directions to the restaurant. The ramen was excellent. We checked out early next day and continued to Kitami.

It takes you 4~5 minutes walking from Asahikawa station to this hotel. The service of this hotel is awesome. You can see the smile faces as the hotel's name. The room is very clean. There are many restaurants nearby. This might be the best choice for budget traveler to have a trip in Asahikawa.

One of the cheapest rates I found at time of booking so great value for money. About 5 to 10 minutes walk from JR Asahikawa, longer if the road and sidewalk are icy like what I've experienced. Room is clean and the interior is nice. The bathroom is just small. I am not really a fan of the foam memory pillow but the bed is comfortably soft. I noticed the rooms have di...

We chose this hotel because they have mixed gender outdoor onsen (no nude of course). They also have several indoor onsen with different temperatures, and sauna. Just follow the guide and instruction, and you'll love dipping yourself in the onsen during winter. The breakfast is just so-so. The dinner, we can cook nabe, and grab a plate of crab. Other than that, just n...

Staff is helpful and able to communicate in English. Japanese Western Style room is much more spacious than modern room, we had a comfortable stay. The breakfast and dinner were mediocre though. but due to limited restaurants (like two) nearby so we have to book our room with meals in the hotel. kurodake ropeway is just beside the hotel and it was closed due to weather...

Love the breakfast as it is one of the best breakfast that I had in hokkaido with the reasonable price. The room is well designed and equipped with good facilities. The lobby is very comfortable with lots of seats and table available , the design of the lobby is the good spot of photo shooting

Booked the night before check in, great environment, with lots of information about the current condition of asahidake ropeway and the asahi-dake. The onsen is comparatively small, but still comfortable to use. That's no lift in the hotel, you got to walk up with luggage by staircases. Wifi is only available at lobby, no reception in room. But i still love my stay h...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. The rooms are adequately spacious for the price and are very clean and comfortable. The facilities are excellent with self-service laundry available via their numerous washing machines at the lobby. They also seem to have an excellent food spread at the restaurant downstairs with reasonable prices though we did not have the ...

Pros: friendly and extremely helpful staff. Value for money. Bed was comfy. Cons: toilet is quite small. Probably can add an English signboard saying “Hotel Tetora Asahikawa” at the entrance. It was only available is Japanese - Katakana. It’s just a small entrance between 2 buildings. Lobby is at 3rd floor.

I used Asahikawa as a station to explore Furano and Biei. The small hotel is located not far away from the Asahikawa station, and the shopping area is just a few steps away. The breakfast is either japanese or american style. The room is clean but small, the window face a wall of the building next door so basically there is no view at all. The check in and out is fast. ...

Originally we booked 3days 2 night at this hotel. At the end I extended one more night. This ryokan is much better than I expected, I could say that this is one of the best ryokan I had ever stay. The room are big with good view, I can see the starry night from my room. The chef are prepare the dinner and breakfast with using very good quality and fresh ingredients. Th...

when asked to review the crescent hotel in asahikawa norhtern hokkaido prefuncture japan i would have to say that the location is the best feature. very near the main shopping street and other urban area features. staff are nice but speak no english. overall the hotel rooms are a bit dated. they need a change of carpet and some new higher grade sheets and beds would he...

This hotel is our first hotel during our 6 days road trip around Hokkaido. We didn't put much expectation at first but surprised with outcome. The check in was smooth. Our room's view was excellent, facing mountain during winter was magical. The hotel located just across the road from Sounkyo Ice Waterfall Festival. The staff is friendly even though speak little Englis...

Unexpected grat surprise for us. There were 2 hotels to choose from in Sounkyo. So we selected this hotel since it was larger than the other. Room rate included dinner and breakfast (did not appeared anywhere in our booking - just breakfast). The Japanese-styled room was spacious enough for 4 people. Dinner was buffet style and we enjoyed it tremendously. The most m...

For the price I pay, I find that the hotel provided very good amenities and convenience... simple breakfast provided and amenities kit for ladies during check in. There’s also a public bath available for our use and washing machines/dryers provided much convenience for our stay in Asahikawa. We stayed at Taisetsu for its proximity to the Sounkyo ice festival. Although we only spent 1 night at the hotel, we enjoyed the hot spring facility and the amazing choices and generous portions made available at the buffet restaurant. The gift shop also offers a tremendous number of gift choices to suit all tastes! The staffs were friendly and helpful and it was a bo...

The cons: It was a little far from Asahikawa station (about 10 min walk) and it wasn't easy walking in the snow with luggage. But other than that, everything was perfect! Please, please pay the 500 JPY for the breakfast. I had it on two days and they were the culinary highlights of my trip despite them being home-cooked fare! Every dish was well executed. I was so happ...

Cheap places to stay in Asahikawa

My friend and I stayed here for three nights and were very comfortable. The hostel is not large but still felt spacious enough to be social in the communal area. It hostel is kept very clean and has everything you need, although there is only one shower, this did not prove to be a problem and both my friend and I were able to shower when we needed. The Location was great, good decision to move to this city. The room was nice and my bed was comfy. Walking distance to JR and bus terminall, and cafes, Japanese Cheese, library shopping arcade. Owner Tetsu is friendly very nice willing to spend time with guest to answer all question. I would definitely stay again If I will go back to Asahikawa one day

We have a wonderful and comfortable stay here, room is clean with very good temperature control. WiFi internet very stable. Staff are friendly and check out process very fast but a bit early at 10 AM. Also check in time is afternoon 4 PM, but you can temporary keep your luggage at hotel reception. Overall we were happy satisfied.

Pro: room is larger than typical Jap room. Con: room is pretty rundown. Do need some refurbishment esp the bathroom. Be mindful that this is a smoking hotel and offers non-smoking room based as availability. Had booked through Agoda and though the default booking pop up as for non smoking room (which allows as an option of choice) hotel does not reserve it as priority...

This is a standard business hotel in Asahikawa. The rooms are the standard small size that you will find in Japan. The hotel and rooms are kept clean and the hotel does not seem too old. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Asahikawa.

Did not get to see much more than Sounkyo gorge area. Never had the change to go to Asahikawa city however Sounkyo was a lovely getaway from the city.
it is hot in summr.but in winter it is cold but so beautiful early in the morning you can see the beauiful thing in the park and on the riverbank
We went to two parks - the Asahiyama park which is on a hill next to the zoo; and the Tokiwa park which is in the city.
Asahikawa is thee jumping off point for Asahi dake and Daisetsusan Park. The zoo is small, but not tiny.
Small town with friendly people around. A zoo with Hokkaido's animal which i think is better to visit in Winter.
Nice place to visit. I'd say, stay for 2-3 nights to visit the surroundings like Beie, furano and other places close by.
It is pretty much like a city specially created for tourist, as it is centrally located at Hokkaido. It is not suitable for solo traveller like me, who prefer not to see too touristic places.

use locker to travel light JR and tourist information center is the first place u should stop wherever u travel should have the minimum of 5 days
Although it is not as crowded as Sapporo & the pace of life is very much slower, I like it as I felt very relax & comfortable there.
Asahikawa doesn't have a lot compared to Sapporo, but it is certainly a nice place to visit. A lot of beautiful parks, a great zoo and the Ainu museum is worth a look too!
the highway and street signage is exceptionally good with lots of dual language signs at almost every intersection.
LOTS of great skiing close by! This hotel is great for the first and/or last night in the area, when you don't want to have to make the long haul from the ski resort.
As it is the centre of Hokkaido, you can plan here's as the base, then, take JR or travel by car to Furano, Biei, Sounkyo or even Abashiri.
The price of food and accommodations are reasonable. If you'd like to go see lavender, this is the place to stay, since it's not so far away.
This is almost Sapporo-lite. It was urban enough, but not congested like Tokyo. We would have like to spend more time there exploring the restaurants and eateries.
