"Mountain Chalet was built in 1954, so it has a certain dated feel to it, but there are also modern touches here and there that show the owners have worked to take care of it. The rooms are rather small, but functional, and the outdoor pool is large enough to swim (short) laps (and quite warm when we were there in August). The hot tub is also large and hot. Breakfast was limited due to COVID, but they did offer a hot meal (different each day) that was quite good. The hotel would benefit from some brighter colors (the dominant dark brown color scheme makes it look a bit dingy, even though it's not), but it was also a lot cheaper than other options, especially for its location (two blocks from the gondola). On the whole, a decent choice for a summer stay."

"No one could break a $20 dollar bill. That is the dumbest thing Ive seen in all my travels. I was paying in 50's and 20's and no change.... Because of this I will not be staying here again, ever. I'm no drama queen, but this was weird."

"At $500 per night, to be charged $14.95 for WIFI (really, $14.95?) and find the premises not secure (you can enter from a gate on the pool level and have access to the entire hotel after a "third degree showing of photo ID at reception to check in) was disconcerting and disappointing. Water bottles and coffee capsules are impossible to open, making a solo stay for an older woman more than inconvenient. The rooms are beautifully appointed but sound proofing is minimal and TV sound leaks between rooms. The value for the price is simply missing."

"We arrived early but were able to check-in. There was a bit of confusion about the name on check-in but the manager dealt with it all quickly and nicely. We managed to park in 2 spaces!!! were asked very nicely to move - fair enough - it was our fault!. The location is great, short walk to good cafes and restaurants. The hotel was clean enough, good for overnight stay and very reasonably priced. We would stay here again if we return to Aspen"
