Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

"We came the first time to bangkok with our little 2 children and we loved it. For our first time in Thailand it was perfect because we could easy take boot taxis to all famous attractions in Bangkok. To downtown for the shopping malls we used the Sky Train which was right next to the pier. The Hotel has a great view, the staff was amazing and friendly. For my children who came here the first time the got to see ancient and traditional costumes that the staff people wear. The concierge was brilliant and absolutly helpful. The hotel is located directly on the River. After sightseeing in bangkok (which can be very hectic especially with children) The Oriental Hotel was a perfect Oasis for relaxing. Although it is a high class Hotel, you got so see local Thais having wedding which was for me very interesting also to see the upper class thai people. The Food was a bit expensive but we stayed only for 3 nights. We went to the Thai restaurant with the boat service to got to see the traditional thai temple show and my family loved it. The Pool service and the BBQ Restaurant on the Peer with live music was absolutely romantic. For first time arriving and doing a lot of sightseeings in Thailand, this is a perfect stay with high standards if you are looking for something really special. The Kids club was a bit disappointing though for my kids (5,7) it is a small room with some toddler toys, a computer a tv BUT with a very friendly staff. But they would charge you for each child which was a bit expensive...and my children wouldn't like to stay..."

The Okura Prestige Bangkok
Sukhumvit,Bangkok - View on map
"This is my 3rd stay at this hotel and I can say with confidence that this is the best hotel in Bangkok. I had several needs that this hotel quickly accomodated. We needed to book some tickets to Siam Niramit and I inquired at the front desk, next thing I know we were booked and they wanted to give us directions which I already had. This is a soup to nuts hotel, if you need anything it will be done. The suite is a wonderfully decorated and functional room. It will not disappoint. Love the bidet toilet seats by Toto and the quality fixtures. The bar is a great place to grab a drink and enjoy the city view outside. The breakfast has just about everything you could want, but I try not to indulge too much and everything is just so tempting. I enjoyed the wonderful pool with a view. The internet always worked. The keycards never had a problem. I had numerous packages delivered here. I had several VIPs in Bangkok visit me here. Never a problem with them handling very expensive packages nor taking care of my friends who were always impressed when they came to visit. I didn't have to worry about them being rudely treated. So after all is said and done, don't even think twice about staying here. This should be your first choice, you will not be disappointed. I've traveled to Bangkok so many times and stayed at so many hotels here and this is at the top of the list."

"i think this is one of the best hotels in bangkok in the very affordable range. the rooms are very spacious, even with kitchennette facilities. sauna, steamer and pool are simply great. massage facilities have very professional people working there (probably the best massage we had in thailand). and, most importantly, there buffet breakfast is absolutely delicious and we really liked there attention to detail. the staff speaks english and is very professional. the hotel located 50 m from ratchasima train station and 10 min walk from siam square and siam paragon shopping centre."

Millennium Hilton Bangkok

"Excellent hotel and service but one of the worst Club Lounges I have seen in Bangkok. Not to say it wasn't good but in comparison to what other 5 star hotels in Bangkok have on offer this Club Lounge felt like it was lacking a lot. The service is excellent and food was a very high standard and the Sunday Brunch was the best I have seen in Bangkok. But everything else seemed very expensive, drinks, food, room service etc..... in comparison with other 5 star hotels in Bangkok it is not value for money. "

Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok
Siam,Bangkok - View on map
"Having stayed previously at most of the top hotels in Bangkok we decided to take a chance on the Siam Kempinski. Yes, it is quite expensive being near the top for price in Bangkok but after 4 nights I can assure you it is well worth it. Being only newly opened, everything as one would expect is in pristine condition. But service has been taken to a new level and the ambience and facilities are first class. We ate in the hotels Thai restaurant (sorry, can't remember it's name) and was initially disappointed with menu which was in essence a set menu with some limited options. I could not have been more wrong. It turned out to be one of the best and most innovative restaurant meals we have had anywhere in the world. And to top it all it's central location is also great with one of the best Bangkok shoppings malls only steps away - so no Taxi's!!. In short first class."

More about Bangkok

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, and serves as a gateway for this region. Bangkok is served by Suvarnabhumi International Airport , which is one of the busiest and most important travel hubs in Asia, as well as the regional Don Muang Airport, which serves many of the regional airlines. Hotels in Bang Na are popular with travelers making quick stopovers as the area is within close proximity of the international airport.

Bangkok is a diverse and sprawling city without a dedicated central district. Instead, the major activity follows the major roads of Sukhumvit and Silom through the length of the metropolis. Visitors to this city will have endless options for accommodations, shopping, and some of the most exciting nightlife in Southeast Asia.

Getting around Bangkok used to be tricky, but modern infrastructure changes and the use of sky trains continues to make transportation easier.

The cosmopolitan energy in Bangkok is exhilarating, but it's easy to see that this city also plays an integral role in Thai culture and history. No sooner do tourists round the corner of a brand-new skyscraper than they come face-to-face with a centuries-old temple or an eclectic open-air market. The city features many unforgettable sites such as the Temple of Dawn, the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, which is known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Bangkok remains endlessly fascinating and surprising even to its residents. There’s much more to see and learn about Bangkok, and the interactive map on this page is a great way to continue uncovering all the important landmarks, hotels, and attractions of this vibrant city.
