"This spontaneous trip to Batangas was indeed a great escape from the urban life. The Farm is located at Lipa. It was clearly a short drive from Manila but getting inside is like being in an alternate universe where birds are chirping, peacocks are walking around, and green is the dominant color. We arrived earlier than the check-in time and we huddled at the Alive! Restaurant for lunch. They serve the "good" in the food. The menu is mainly comprised of vegan recipes yet the taste is satisfying, it will make you forget about meat. It's the only restaurant inside The Farm and there are no nearby restaurants in the area. Price is actually steep but ingredients are guaranteed freshly-picked. I appreciated that the staff are courteous and friendly despite the slow pacing of service. Our stay includes a free afternoon snack and breakfast. The Farm also offers detox packages depending on personal needs."

"8/10 Stars overall. We just got home from a nice 2 night stay at the Matabungkay Beach Hotel in Lian, Batangas. The hotel itself is quite old but fairly maintained. But what really gave us a pleasant stay were the staffs. They were polite and proactive. Service was quick although given that we went during off peak season. You can get a 60 minute massage for Php600. The spa itself is quite old and has that smell when a place has not been used for some time. Massage was ok, nothing special. The food was ok but a little pricey. You have food options outside the resort which is good. They have 3 pools, 2 of which can be enjoyed by kids. Clean and well maintained. Not sure though how it would look like during peak seasons. I am not a fan of their balsas which block the view of the beach and makes it look like a “Palaisdaan”. The beach in front of the hotel is not very suitable for swimming. Although you can walk for 10 minutes where there is a good spot for swimming."

"I stayed with my wheelchair bound mom and dad and my wife. Check in: I made a big mistake i by mistake had the booking in wrong date and arrived a day early. the lady simply said, "Don't worry, we will take care of it". So helpful..... The rooms were not the best for price. But then again it i felt you will not really stay in that room if you are in that resort. So much to do out side. The aircon was leaking water in the veranda area. So there was a little puddle of water on the corner. (but not in the way). I felt they can improve one their cleaning up. But acceptable. One thing i really disliked that they don't have "hand shower" on the toilet. They should all hotels in Philippines has it. People are very very friendly and accommodating. When they saw my mom struggling to get down because of her feet problem. 3 wonderful ladies came running to lend their helping hand. So caring. Only in Asia (if not Philippines) this happens. Overall it is a nice place to spend time. Pool is big enough. View is BEYOND AMAZING. And they have so much water activity. It's just fun exciting and serene at the same time. I also liked their food. I did not find it extremely expensive like other closed gate resort. We regretted that we booked just one night. Worth a visit. "

"Quiet clean great staff. Small but cool pool and jacuzzi. Great front desk staff all friendly and easy to deal with. Servers Jun Girlie and Flexie provide service at par with five star hotels. Food expensive but tastes good. Try the fish and chips and Big John Pizza. Food costs around 350 pesos up per person. No other food options around. Nice beach is a few minutes walk away. A bit littered and lots of rafts and vendors. No rocks pure sand beach. More than what i expected. Water not super clear typical batangas beach.Room is clean has bidet hot shower, firm mattress had great nights sleep. Split type ac, cable cignal hd with numerous channels. only downside was a tiny stain in the middle of the bed sheet upon check in but was replaced with crisp clean sheets upon request. No wifi in the room only in resto intermittent. Dont need much wifi in the room cable and conversation was good enuf for us. Public beach so dont expect boracay. Really cool resort for its price very well maintained. Has board games. Enjoyed jenga and scrabble. Has magazines, books. Even the pool guy is nice. Will definitely come back. Great resort!!!"

"I would like to say that this resort is one of the best resorts in Batangas, though location is 4-5 hours drive from Laguna once you arrived in resort you would just say its worth it.. We rented beach cabin and my family really enjoyed staying there especially the beach is only at the front of cabin and children can play and swim. Beach is very clean and clear, quiet and cold which is good in summer. You can bring food and eat outside the cabin and rented barbecue set which is good. Pools are lovely and big. They are strict in terms of how many people who will check in, so be careful with that, I only booked 2 cabins but we exceeded the no. of people so i have no choice but to book another 1 cabin I would recommend to have a sports activities but overall its very good"

More about Batangas

Batangas Resorts: Top Coastal Destinations for a Philippine Beach Vacation

Plan a vacation to the City of Batangas in the Philippines to enjoy beautiful water views, sandy beaches, and diverse marine life. Batangas is the capital city of the province of Batangas and is home to one of the busiest seaports in the country. Book the best Batangas resorts in the city, or hop on a boat or ferry to travel to one of the nearby island destinations or popular tourist cities in the Philippines.

Batangas hotels near Batangas Pier

The busiest spot in the city is Batangas International Port, more commonly known as Batangas Pier. This seaport serves cargo ships and passenger ferries. Several of the best cheap hotels in Batangas are located in the area, giving travelers a perfect place to stay before heading out on an early-morning journey.

This port connects visitors with some of the best resorts in Batangas Province, with several great destinations available to visit daily. Some routes offer a relatively short journey, like Batangas to Puerto Galera or Calapan in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. Puerto Galera is a trendy tourist city that features beautiful beaches, thrilling water sports, and vibrant nightlife. Beach resorts in Puerto Galera are equipped with luxury amenities, like outdoor infinity pools. Calapan does not offer many tourist attractions, but there are a few museums and parks that are worth a visit, as well as many restaurants serving authentic Filipino delicacies.

Beach-seeking tourists may also consider taking an overnight ferry from Batangas to destinations such as Sibuyan Island. This crescent-shaped island is located in the Sibuyan Sea and is rich with natural wonders, including waterfalls, mountains, and forests. It's home to some of the most relaxed beach resorts in the Philippines, with simple structures and basic amenities that ensure a comfortable experience.

Batangas beach resorts on Verde Island

About a half-hour away by ferry from the Batangas City mainland sits Verde Island (or Isla Verde), a quiet, self-sufficient island paradise. This isolated destination offers several affordable Batangas beach resorts that are perfect for adventurous couples, families, or friend groups. These resorts are powered by solar panels and generators and provide basic amenities, encouraging visitors to enjoy the natural outdoor attractions around them. Guests can view a diverse assortment of marine life on a snorkeling adventure, or while relaxing on the shores, they can explore the unique rock formations, and simply enjoy the quiet island life.

Batangas hotels near Montemaria Shrine

One of the most popular tourist attractions within the City of Batangas is Montemaria International Pilgrimage and Conference Center, a Roman Catholic pilgrimage site. This hilltop complex includes an event center, the Santo Nino Chapel, and the St. John Paul II Chapel, as well as several other buildings and small landmarks. The main feature is the Mother of All Asia -- Tower of Peace statue, a 315-foot shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The Montemaria Shrine is free to visit and offers incredible views from the observation deck. Batangas accommodations are available nearby for visitors on a pilgrimage.

Resorts in Batangas Province: Laiya

Since most of the Batangas City coastline is occupied by the port, travelers often journey to other cities in the province to book the best Batangas beachfront hotels and resorts. About 42 miles from the capital city is Laiya-Aplaya, a barangay or village, of San Juan, Batangas. This little village's biggest attraction is Laiya Beach, a stunning coastal stretch with white sand and clear waters. The area is so beautiful that it's often compared to Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan, one of the top beaches in the Philippines.

Aside from tourism, one of the top industries in Laiya is fishing. While relaxing on the beach or participating in water sports, tourists are likely to spot several fishing boats in Tayabas Bay. Since these local fishermen often sell what they catch directly to the Laiya Batangas resorts, fresh seafood dishes are always on the menu. These resorts also typically offer amenities such as private beach access and outdoor pools with incredible views.

Luxury accommodations in Batangas Province: Calatagan

The Municipality of Calatagan is also located about 42 miles from the province's capital but in the opposite direction. It's known for its relaxing beaches and luxurious accommodations. While budget-conscious travelers can set up a tent on one of the many beaches that allow camping, the luxury beach resorts in Calatagan, Batangas offer a much more comfortable sleeping experience. A number of resorts even have unique room offerings, like floating cottages that put you right on the water or treehouse cottages built high in a tree.

Some of the most popular beaches in Calatagan include Burot Beach, Little Boracay in Batangas, and Harmony Beach. They typically allow for swimming and fun water sports like snorkeling, kayaking, and banana boat rides. For extra water fun, book a stay at Aquaria Water Park, one of the top Batangas resorts for family vacations. The outdoor pool area features a sunken pool bar for adults, a giant water slide for thrill-seeking guests, and a kiddie pool with sprinklers for younger children.

Beach resorts in Batangas Province: Lemery

Relaxing beachfront Batangas resorts are plentiful in Lemery, an urban municipality located about 22 miles from Batangas City. Along the coast of the Balayan Bay are over a dozen budget-friendly and luxury Lemery accommodations. They offer amenities such as outdoor pools, on-site dining options, and easy access to relaxing beaches.

Lemery Batangas beach resorts are ideal for travelers who want a classic beach experience and a rewarding tourist experience in one. The municipality is located close to one of the province's must-see attractions: Taal Volcano in Taal Lake. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the country, so it is not always accessible. But when the volcano is on low alert, tourists can travel by boat to the foot of the mountain, then take a guided tour up to the top. While the trail is steep and takes about an hour to complete, the panoramic view from the top of this dangerous volcano is one that visitors won't soon forget.
