we were absolutely delighted with our accomodation at bicheno east coast holiday park. the cabin was beautifully clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. conveniently located within walking distance to a well stocked supermarket for supplies, and riight next door to the departure point for the bicheno penguin tours. we had excellent friendly and helpful se...

I really enjoyed my stay at this motel. I stayed in many motels during my Australia trip and this was by far the best. The room I was in had clearly been recently remodeled to a very nice standard. The heat lamps in the bathroom were an especially nice touch for chilly mornings. The couple who runs it were very helpful recommending places to eat and helping us book tic...

Just back from a week holiday at Tasmania and... wow! Bicheno was a nice and quiet town. And this hotel should be the best place to stay, factoring the price and location. The room decor exceeds my expectation! Try to get room with kitchen as restaurants nearby close quite early and pricey. Would be good if hotel have its own restaurant.

Everything was fine with the room, it's clean, the bed is comfy, the kitchen is stocked with most things you could need, but be advised there is no wifi in the room. Only in public areas. I also want to share that if you opt to use the hotel's platform for penguin viewing, you cannot see them come up from the beach (if this matters to you). Some birds will walk past ...

We arrived at this lovely spot in the middle of nowhere after a long day's drive from Hobart to a charming welcome and were shown to our 'beachhut', which turned out to be an extremely well-equiped and comfortable cottage in the dunes. We spent two delightful days there, only going out to shop for dinner to cook at home, much more relaxing than the restaurants in Bic...

Relaxing, wish we could stay longer. Everything you need is there, even a washing machine! If you want to have a relaxing seaside BBQ, Remember to bring your own oil and gas as these may not be supplied. Best part was watching penguins arrive in the evening, bicheno doesn't run a monopoly business to cash-in on this spectacular natural event

Firstly, thank you for the warmest arrangement from Tom. We supposed to arrive at the apartment at about 3pm but end up we arrived at 5:15pm due to traffic issue. Upon we arrived, Tom was waiting for us there. He was so thoughtful, he turned on the heater in advance in the apartment for us. He also gave us a discount on the rental. When we booked the apartment via ...

Amazing sea view, whole apartment with 3 bedrooms and a functional kitchen and living room. Located very near Bicheno glass bottom boat, Bicheno blowhole and fantastic blue edge bakery. Came with laundry and dryer which was soooo helpful for us travelers. The driveway took some maneuvering, and there were quite some steps up to the apartment but that’s ok. Just take...

Instead of staying in the expensive hotels Freycinet national park area, I decide to stay in Bicheno. I left Hobart early in the morning to do the Wineglass bay walk before continuing to Bicheno, I still had a time to have a rest and a dinner in the hotel before going to see the penguins. The hotel is a short walking distance from the Bicheno Penguin tours. Though the ...

Do yourself a favour - skip staying at Coles Bay and stay at Bicheno instead! We stayed "Charm on Douglas" within Bicheno Apartments for a fraction of the price. What we got was an entire (gorgeous) cottage a short drive from the Apartments themselves. It was an easy trip from the cottage to the Penguin Tours and local coastal attractions. We'll definitely be looking u...

Traveler impressions of Bicheno
Shops close up early so do the grocery in advance. A few wild penguins show up at the Blow Hole around 6.
We loved our stay in Bicheno. The people in town were very friendly and it's a lovely small town to visit.
The penguin tour is a must join! The staffs are friendly and the penguin gets really near to us. The staff explained to us about the life of the penguins in a relaxing way.
Nice area with all you need for excellent and relaxed holidays. Close to world-famous Freycinet national park but also full of local attractions.
Bicheno is the place to stop before going to Freycinet. Travellers must do the Bicheno Penguin Tour. We saw about 50 penguins during our visit.

Take a stroll on the beaches, try to check the tides as you can walk over to Diamond Island when there is low tide.
This sleepy little bayside town is fast growing. There is a lot of building of homes. The bay which the town surrounds is truly beautiful.
Bicheno is a nice small town with soul. The town of Bicheno was a real surprize with a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Near to national park. quiet and relaxing. free penguin parade and close encounter with wild animal at night.
Nice small town. shop close at 6pm and must reserve to dine local. It is cold in november and very windy.
all shops close at 6pm. Restaurant close at 9pm and must reserve to dine. November temperature waa nice but must travel with warm clothing.
Lovely well kept area with friendly inhabitants fabulous beaches and a great base for touring. The shops cover most things that you might require for a stay in the area with a good bakery, butcher, general store (check out the Log Cabin store), and a good choice of eateries.
Bicheno is one of the most beautiful places on the East Coast to stay. The town is so clean & the people very friendly & helpful.
