Best hotels & accommodations in Bohol

This review is hard to start because I loved everything about this place. I took my wife and young son to this hotel as it was our honeymoon and we wanted to see her family from Bohol. This review is hard to start because I loved everything about this place. I took my wife and young son to this hotel as it was our honeymoon and we wanted to see her family from Bohol. From the time I made my reservations on Agoda, the staff from the hotel contacted me via email to confirm if I needed anything and to confirm transportation. I booked the beach view suite with breakfast included. The suite was perfect and we woke up every morning with a beautiful view of the beach. The hotel was very well maintained and you could always see the staff performing various preventive maintenance around the grounds. The beach is super clean and there is security there as well so you can just relax and no worry about anything. In fact you could often find me sleeping on the hammocks on the beach and I had no worries. If you are going as a couple for a honeymoon or romantic getaway, you don't even have to leave the hotel as everything is there. We got out alot as my wife's family is from Bohol. The hotel can arrange transportation or you can yourself (which we did). The best way to see Bohol is by moped/motorcycle. Plenty of places to rent from in fact one is located right down the street from the hotel. In fact that is why I didn't give them a five for the staff because of the conflicting information we received. When we checked in the receptionist told us just let her know what type of vehicle we wanted and they could arrange. The next morning the receptionist told us they did not have any POCs to contact for rentals. If thy can get small things like that together I would definitely rank them a five. However, that won't deter me in the future, I can't wait to go back here next year!

This is the greater part of the former Bohol Beach Club Hotel, beautifully transformed into a fabulous beach resort with upgraded bungalows, pools and hugely improved food. The BBC 'acquired' one of the best beachfronts in the Philippines many years ago as the family were best buddies with the horrendous Marcos. They ran the BBC as a 3 star hotel which was okay but always a massive under realized potential. Now that a professional hotel company has taken over one can immediately notice the difference and this is now the resort that the BBC could easily have been! However, this is strictly a place for relaxing and chilling out, the sea isn't good for swimming and there isn't a lot to do although personally that's part of the charm. The staff were fantastic, the bungalows fine and everything including the tv and Wifi worked well. The two hotel sites almost merge and one can easily wander between them although you wouldn't choose to eat at the BBC but might enjoy strolling along the beach and feeling grateful that the original owners didn't over develop the site.

They have airport transfers; they’re only 10 minutes away from the new Panglao airport. The place was away from beach front but they had a shuttle service. They can also make arrangements for day tours and beach tours, which we both booked. It was brilliant! I went to the Loboc river cruise and the Chocolate Hills among other things. Wow! The staff also helped us surprise my friend by helping with the logistics of the surprise bridal shower. They allowed us to decorate the room and sneak a cake in. This was just one of the many instances they accommodated requests from us. Their overall service and treatment of guests was beyond exceptional. Kudos to all the staff! The food was delicious and generously served as well. Worth every peso. ☺️ Will definitely come back and recommend to friends.

The Good: 1. Location - As our final night's stay in Bohol, we've decided to book a room with Ocean Suites Boutique Hotel Bohol as it is more convenient to get to the airport from there than other hotels located in nearby Panglao Island. FREAKIN' INFINITY POOL!!! 4. Free transfer to/from the airport / seaport - This is available upon request. Just confirm your arrival or departure date and time with the friendly and playful receptionist team. 5. Friendly staff - They are everywhere! The Bad: 1. The annoying shower - It takes a minute or two for the water heater to respond, so I ended up scalding myself. No need to worry since everything was still under control. 2. No elevators - A word of advice... Better pack several small bags or suitcases when staying here. I brought along a big suitcase with all of our things in there and regretted it. I would recommend Ocean Suites to my travelling friends.

It was our best experience out of 3 places with a great property, infinity pool, serene surroundings, quiet and peaceful environment. The pool is great for everyone overlooking ocean. The staff is excellent and very accommodating. We had dinner in the outside gazebo which was amazing. Another HIGHLIGHT of the stay was FOOD. Starting from Buffet, everything was cooked fresh and delicious. The German Chef also cooked delicious Indian chicken curry, Daal and Aloo-palak with naan on special request... which was sooo delicious. He has many years of experience and he takes great pride in his kitchen and cooking. If and when we come back to Bohol, this is the place we are going to stay!

I didn't expect much about this resort because it is not a luxury hotel. But when I arrived, this resort looked fine thinking about its location and grade(3star). It is just in front of alona beach and located in the middle this area. You can go every where by walk in alona area. Room is clean, hot shower is always available though water is a little bit salty like all other resorts in Bohol. Air conditioner is very quiet and brand new. You can see the beach at modern standard room in third floor or partly at modern standard room in second floor. Never book 'standard room' because it is terrible with virtually no windows. I think the best room for couble is Modern standard. (moder deluxe is at first store, so you can easily access to pool or beach, but can't see the beach in your room). Maybe more expensive rooms better, but I'm not sure about that. There are other more expensive resorts near here. But if you are not going to stay in the room very much because of diving or touring around bohol, but also if you don't like unexpected bad rooms, the Lost Horizon Beach Resort will be one of the best choices. Dinner buffet is also reasonable, and there are band music in the night. Although it is a little bit more expensive than other restaurant, I think the buffet is pretty good for your everynight dinner. I'll choose this resort if I go bohol again. Everything is good thinking about its price. If you are not mad for luxury resort, try Lost Horizon!

I wasn't really planning on booking Amarela resort but because of the positive reviews, I just have to let our family experience what other guests are saying about this resort. They have a complimentary airport transfer which not many resorts or hotels in Bohol would offer. The staff was VERY courteous and attentive. I made arrangements for our anniversary in advance and they did not fail me. It was very well set up, romantic and we had the beach to ourselves in a romantic set up. I could not say anything negative about the resort itself from staff to facilities (they have a volleyball area, beach bar, table tennis and darts, library and game boards which we enjoyed!) Food was superb too! If you are looking for something worth your money and you are after a silent retreat looking to de-stress, this is for you!! The place is not crowded which gives you some 'me time' I would definitely recommend Amarela and YES, I will be back!

It was our first time to travel to Bohol. I wanted to book 2 nights at Bohol Beach Club but the resort was full due to renovation. Dumaluan Beach Resort is just beside Bohol Beach Club and they share the same beautiful beach. My friend who recommended Dumaluan Beach rather than Alona Beach (where the nightlife is), was a genius. I got the Junior Presidential Suite at Dumaluan Beach Resort which was just perfect. Our room was a few steps from the beach and the restaurant. Though they serve many delicious dishes, the free breakfast buffet was simple and not comparable to the breakfast served when you stay in a hotel. The day tour and island tour offered by the resort were reasonable in price but I still managed to find a cheaper one outside the resort. The driver we hired for the day tour looked like the late Filipino actor Rudy Fernandez but with lots of tattoos and earrings. Though he looked tough and mean, he was a sweetheart, funny and a true family man. We enjoyed his tour. (Never judge a book by its cover.) The resort offers plenty of Aquatic Sports you can avail. The resort has a small dog named Goliath. The dog can swim and snorkel. If only I can share my video. At night, they have an excellent band playing good music, rock, bossa nova, jazz, classic old songs. What a way to unwind and drink up. The resort is 3 kilometers away from Alona Beach where all the bars and restaurants are located. 20 minutes away from the airport and Tagbilaran City. This place is just wonderful. If Bohol (Panglao Island) is like Boracay, Dumaluan Beach is a station 1 resort. Alona beach is like Puerto Galera. Tagbilaran City is like Kalibo, Aklan.

My wife (a Filipina) and I (half Filipino, half European) stayed at Amun Ini for a belated 4-night honeymoon and were very pleased with our stay. We had researched many different places around the Philippines but were confident in our choice of Amun Ini based on the many positive reviews of previous guests on TripAdvisor. I am pleased to say our confidence was justified! Amun Ini is about 90 minutes coastal drive from Tagbilaran airport. However due to the fact that Bohol's roads are of good quality compared to most of the provinces in the Philippines, the journey is a pleasant one, and definitely worth it. The resort can arrange transport for you if required. Although being half-Filipino, I am not as forgiving as many of my compatriots when it comes to offering my opinion, and I pride myself on having an eye for high quality. I am happy to say that Amun Ini offers just that! The resort is less than a year old, and as such there is much more to come, however, what they have today is more than adequate. The resort is perfect for the discerning traveller who wants peace and quiet, to be in a beautiful location, to be fed with exceptional quality cuisine, and with the sole agenda of lazing by the poolside or on a private beach with nothing more than a book and a loved one to keep them company. Top that all off with a sleep-inducing massage at their spa, and you have the perfect romantic getaway. The more adventurous can also be catered for as Amun Ini can also book things like boat trips of island tours. My wife and I opted for one of the latter and were able to take in the best of what Bohol has to offer (from the Chocolate Hills, to seeing the tarsiers, to lunch on the Loboc river). If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, then you cannot go far wrong with a stay at Amun Ini. My wife and I will certainly be back!

Arrived in tagbilaran by ferry and before even getting off we look out into the city and saw a building that was higher than the others. Had a hunch that it was the Belian hotel but wasn't sure. We were thinking that if it was that, then we had scored because it was very close to the port. As we exited the port, it became clear that it was the hotel! So that was good. It is a walking distance , however, like anywhere in the Philippines, you get tricycle drivers who would persist in taking you somewhere. And since it was hot and we were tired, we did ride the tricycle. Also saved us from having to carry out luggages. First impression of the hotel - very clean and modern. Especially for something in the province! They provided welcome drinks and the staff were very polite and helpful - we hadn't been to Bohol before and they were helpful in giving us directions and tours. Room was very clean too and so was the bathroom. They were both very spacious for two people. I requested for a late checkout over the phone as we were running late coming back from panglao island. But they were strict on this because they were apparently booked out. Came back to the hotel and we couldn't access the room with our key even with our luggages still inside. Had to go back to reception to ask for the key to be resetted. It was understandable that they couldn't let us check out late because it's booked for after but I would have appreciated it if they tried to understand that we only needed an extra 15 mins since we were to catch a ferry right after anyway. Instead she turned me down straight away. Also there were heaps of people who checked out even later than us. It was a very pleasant stay and good value for money. Another plus is they actually have a free shuttle service to the port so we were able to avail that. Just disappointing that we hadn't known when we arrived and had to spend money on a tricycle.

Pyramid is approximately 80m away from the drop off area of Alona Beach, no direct access from main road but it is manageable. The room we got was a superior pool view room, loft type room with balcony so it is really chill. The rooms here can easily get fully booked because of their great staff and service, super clean property, great food at their restaurant and strategic location so make sure to book 6 months earlier if you can, we booked ours 8 months in advance. The pool is 7 feet deep, not suitable for non swimmers. Wifi is fast and free. No complimentary breakfast. In front of the property is where the fire dance performance happens every weekend nights yet the property is still quiet and safe. Bohol is generally safe, minimal to zero crime rate. Local neutered and vaccinated cats and dogs are friendly and welcomed well along the beach. No sun beds in front of the property as advertised in their photos. Will stay here again!

Before booking, my friend and I were rather nervous when seeing the negative reviews. I honestly have no idea what they are talking about. This hotel was an amazing choice for our vacation in Bohol and the staff made the difference between it being great to perfect. Perks: The resort itself is beautiful. It is located about 15 minutes from Tagbilaran City, and has its own private beachfront. There are beautiful trees, flowers, and buildings all around the grounds. Staff are extremely aware of making it clean. Their friendliness is infectious and everyone smiles all the time. The infinity pool is AMAZING. Most importantly, the restaurant staff were fantastic. They were attentive, polite, respectful, and very friendly. We saw other people who were staying at the resort treat them like servants, which got me rather upset. The level of attention to each guest was unparalleled to any place I have been before. Treat the staff well and tip often. They deserve it. We enjoyed Jupiter, Ahmed, Albert and Marc the most. Star treatment was given here and I am extremely happy with our stay. Cons: We envisioned a deserted beachfront, but found it to be a little different. Not bad, just different. The beach itself on either side of the resort is beautiful, but the resort property has a sand layer built above with stairs leading into the water. We assumed it was to prevent erosion as the waves could be a little high on windy days. We were not disappointed, but just didn't get that view on the website. The water was still bright blue and it looked stunning when sitting a little further back to enjoy the view. One more con would be the high prices of the Spa. We loved going there, but after comparing prices locally, we saw that the prices were extremely jacked up. I assume the resort pockets most of it, and gives a small portion to the women who commute to fill appointments. The same goes for the restaurant staff, who were the highlight of my stay there.

They told me that if the other guest wouldn’t continue to check in, I’ll be first on the waiting list. I explained to them that if they didn’t promise to me that they can extend my stay for a night then I should’ve booked for another hotel before we came in Bohol. I think one of the staffs is guilty that she was not able to note what I requested. Also, the rice smells bad of the free breakfast.

Immigration office is across the street for anyone needing to extend their visa. It took less than an hour to get an extra 29 days. That saved us a trip to Dumaguete or Cebu. Staff is totally on point! This property is perfect for those entering or leaving Bohol. It is also ideal for those who need to decompress while planning their next move in the Philippines.

We stayed for 4 nights in the Sherwood Bay Aqua Resort and Dive School. Booking is including transport from the airport, but from the boat terminal can also be arranged (if you come with the boat from Cebu for example). We were welcomed by the owner of the hotel (former British) and it felt like a cozy family hotel. Rooms don't have numbers, but names of flowers. We stayed in 6 hotels in the Philippines (incl. Marco Polo), but this one stood out from the other hotels on nearly all areas. The good things: - Rooms are big, the bed is enormous, the furniture is modern, the bathroom includes a shower and a bathtub. We had a room with a balcony, with an amazing view on the ocean. - Rooms are more clean than European standard for Hotels. - The hotel has 10-15 rooms and is located out of town, so it is a very nice place to enjoy the piece/silence. - The food is very reasonably priced and of very good quality. There is a decent amount of choice and all dishes are made of good quality ingredients. The cook ain't the fastest, but if we want fastfood we would go to Mac Donalds instead. - The hotel offers tours and diving at very reasonable prices. For about 60 euro (3000 PHP) we toured through Bohol, which is an amazing island, with a private car with airco and driver for 6 hours. Another tour we did was dolphin watching and island hopping (with the possibility to do snorkling in an amazing area). We had a big boat (for easily up to 15 people), a captain and a seaman for 12 hours for 120 euro (6000 PHP) which is a standard price for the tour that can be shared with multiple groups. If you consider that the boat already uses about 60l of fuel, you realize that this is a very reasonable price. - The price/quality rate is very, very good. - Last but not at least: the people are very friendly, they know who you are, you are not a 'number' to them.

We enjoyed the excellent service and very good food with daily specials that were the best. The snorkeling and scuba diving was excellent but best to have them take you by boat to nearby island but it is possible to dive near the hotel. Kyaking was great cruising along the shoreline. Going to the local village for things was easy and the local church for Sunday mass was very nice. A tour of Bohol was great seeing Chocolate Hills, Tarsier reserve, butterfly zoo and other places We always felt very safe and comfortable. The spa was great and massages excellent and not expensive. This was our second trip to Bohol and we enjoyed Ananyana Resort the best and we will return there. It was only missing a gym or work out room found in larger resorts.

Paragayo is a perfect place to stay in Panglao, Bohol. If you are looking for a place that you can relax with out alot of noices around you but accessable to any place you want to go like, restaurants, bar and transportation, Paragayo is the place. Price is really cheap compared to other hotels or resorts. If I will go back in Bohol, I will still stay in this resort.

We stayed for 6 nights and had free private transport from the airport offered by the hotel but the regular price for the transport is also fair. The hotel is about half an hour ride from the airport. The resort is quiet and sparkling clean, rooms are huge, lovely and very well equipped (description on their website is very accurate). They also provide pool towels that can be changed whenever you wish. We had room #1 which was the best room in the resort for us (because of the location, right at the pool!) but as far as I could see the rest of the rooms were just as nice. The “infinity”-pool was perfect size, cleaned regularly with a good water temperature (the pool is important as you cannot enter the sea because of the algae), the beach chairs are freely available, the bar has everything you might want and Rey makes very good cocktails! The restaurant has a very varied menu and their cooks are good! For the 7 days with 2 people we never ordered the same thing twice and we didn’t find anything we didn’t like. We did not even get to the pizza/pasta section but we bet those were just as good. Don't even get me started on the beautiful sunsets... We also went in tours arranged by the hotel (Wonders of Bohol tour and Island hopping/Dolphin watching) and everything was smooth and nice at a decent price. This is a perfect place in Bohol, away from the crowds and the noise but still close if you wish to visit Alona Beach. Thank you Rey, Charlie and the rest of the blue-gang for the wonderful stay!

The Alona Northland Resort was one heck of an experience in Bohol. The hotel was very relaxing and it gives you a temporary getaway from the slums of our nation's capital. It is a 30- to 45-minute drive from Tagbilaran Airport. It is quite hard to find, so it is advisable to avail of their transfer service for only Php 600.00. It is a 30- to 45-minute drive from Tagbilaran Airport. It is quite hard to find, so it is advisable to avail of their transfer service for only Php 600.00. But once you are there, the modern design of the hotel will give you a sense of plush yet affordable luxury. The swimming pool is amazing, as well as its bar area. Though some parts are still under construction, it didn't compromise our stay. The Alona Beach is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The surrounding is serene. The rooms are clean and spacious. However, they lack an area for dining. There's no food warming equipment, but the ac unit works amazing. This is highly recommended. Once the construction is complete, this will certainly be a hit and a perfect getaway in the island of Bohol.

We glad that we choose panglao as our hotel in bohol it just more than what we expected before. We booked 3 rooms in main building and the price is worth it with nice swimming pool as one of the facility, and the price range for food is still afordable. We definitely love our experience with panglao

The circumference of the island is approximately 1 mile round. The resort is clean, rooms are clean, staff friendly restaurant is satisfactory. Not nearly as rustic as other reviews led me to believe. For snorkeling i'm yet to find a better place in the Philippines. Electricity is sometimes limited from 6 am til 10 am and then from 2-5 pm, but while we were there they only shut it off once. Shower pressure is extremely low. shower before you arrive. You will need bucket and pail to get soap from hair. Other than snorkeling/diving, swimming pool, star gazing, eating, sun tanning; There little to do here. If you don't like these you will be quickly bored even if you like these you might be ready for a change after 2 or 3 days. Overall I was very pleased with the resort but I love snorkeling. BTW The beaches here are mostly corral and hard to walk on.

We stayed here for our first two nights in Panglao, Bohol. The hotel is in one of the most beautiful locations. Situated on the top of a hill the rooms offer panorama views of Bohol and Panglao. We wanted to avoid the busy area around Alona Beech and this is exactly what the hotel offered. The hotel is on the top of a hill, but very easily accessible from the port via a tricycle or motorbike. I cannot express how priceless the room views were! We had a deluxe double and the room was just amazing! The room was a fantastic size with a very comfy bed and great facilities. The infinity pool was incredible. Only a small pool, but the views over the mountains are incredible. The hotel is perfect for getting away from crowded areas around the beech. We rented a motorbike from the hotel which was awesome! I would highly recommend this! The roads around Bohol are great quality and perfect for exploring via a motorbike. Fuel prices are just unbeatable too! A shock to the system from Western prices. All tourist spots are very easily accessed and within driving motorbike distance from the hotel. The restaurant offered incredible views with great food! Dinner and breakfast were good prices and great quality. Again I cannot express how amazing the restaurant views were. Honestly, money could not buy this view! The staff were extremely friendly and there to help out. They went above and beyond to help us out with transfers and trips. They gave us great spots to visit with our bike. The locals are also so friendly - we love the Philippine culture! We ended up loving this hotel so much we extended our stay! Well recommended.

I guided junior camp to Bohol 2 days 1 night, we stayed in Blue Ocean Bohol. Including me, the total is 17 pax. At first, even the travel agency didn't know how to park their vans. We felt crazy that how come the resort doesn't have the road to arrive it. But it's true! Because Blue Ocean Bohol resort is in front of the beach in Alona. We walked the shortcut. When we arrived there, all the kids were surprised about it. It's a really nice location. All children love to play at the beach and crazy about it. Second, the excellent part is that we had to departure at 7:30 am cuz of island hopping. I emailed Blue Ocean Bohol about this, they replied me immediately. And all 17 meals didn't delay. They served it on time at 6:3o am and we departed to island hopping before 7:30 am. In short, Blue Ocean Bohol is clean. Although there are many ants. But we like their kindly serve it and good location right on the Alona beach. I would like to recommend this resort to everyone.

My friends we're really happy with their stay. The hosts we're really accommodating with their requests, which made their stay really comfortable. The room and the facilities are good. Though the location is far, they had a call-in tricycle if ever guests want to go somewhere. Overall, it was a very nice weekend for my group.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean with hot shower. The location is great - only 5-10 minutes walk to the mall. Our only complaint is the wifi which wasn't always working well. Would definetely recommend this to others who need a cheap but nice place to stay while experiencing Bohol.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The beds are comfy, the location is in walking distance to the plaza where you can find some 24/7 shops and during the day a lot of good food options. Still it's very quiet at night. The restrooms and shirts are clean all the time, downstairs you can just hangout and drink free water. And the staff is amazing! They are so friendly and lov...

They are so friendly and lovely, they make you feel like you are staying in the house of a friend. You also can rent a scooter for the usual price on Bohol. For sightseeing, the location is one of the best on the island because everything is in scooter range.

I planned to stay at the Hammock hostel for just 2 days. Right now this will be my 5th night and I'm planning to stay longer. I recommend to stay here for a while! I do think that Bohol Coco farm is the best place that I've stayed at throughout my travels in the Philippines. It's small and cosy and everyone knows everyone. Staff members are really friendly and I have no doubt to go back to Bohol Coco farm if I ever go back to Bohol again.

I think the owners welcomed me that night when I arrived. They are very kind. I felt like I’m at home. They also provide free drinks (water and coffee). The lady owner also helped me to book a habal-habal driver who toured me around the province. I will definitely book again this place when I visit Bohol again. Thank you for being so nice and keep it up. God bless!

The staff are super nice, had a nice chat with the owner Jesse in the evening. The location is right by the water, so prepare for amazing breakfast views. Big bonus for animal lovers is that there are several super cute and cuddly dogs and cats. Super great, relaxed vibe - I really liked this place. Not a place for people who like luxury accommodation though.

We've been travelling quite a lot throughout the Philippines and for sure, being at Natura Vista turned out one of our best experiences. And unlike anything else. You've gotta love this place; the cottages are mostly made from local wood and each has it's unique design. It feels like being at the Lord of the Rings Shire. They also have a wonderful enchanted garden, dozens of luxury hammocks and really great music (which is rare in the Philippines). On top of that, they have a very friendly staff who are really concerned about your well-being and do everything to make you feel like home. Check out the extensive menu too; food's good and ranges from meat, fish to vegan. Natura Vista is located in a remote area, 30 mins away from Alona's party beach. Do not expect wild parties here. To the contrary, this hidden gem was made to relax and hide from the crowds. There's a public beach within a minutes walk (used by local fisherman too); the private beach at Panglao Island Nature Resort is next to it an can be accessed for a small fee. We wish we could stay longer and for sure will return to Bohol's Best Kept Secret!

Pros affordable very acommodating staffs With wifi cozy lobby Con The don't offer any food, you gave to go out and find a place to eat. Not near Alona Beach you have to take a tricycle. The comfort rooms are old and needs improvement. Although they are very clean. I'm not sure if they have rooms with their own comfort room since it was a last minute booking and we only need a place to sleep for the night.

I boooked this hostel for 2 nights but ended up staying 4 because there is quite a lot to do and see in Bohol. The hostel was really nicely designed with loads of seating areas and hammocks. The dorm room was basic but well airconditioned and a comfy bed. The guys who work there are all really nice and are often cleaning or doing the garden.

The hosts are really warm and accommodating. They will make you feel at home. Andy and Ate Vicky were really nice in helping me to book my tours. Hassle free for me! (It's the little things) we had Aircon too and the food was cheap and tasty! The cook - Angelo an italian chef was also the coolest guy!! So accommodating. We had been there 2 hours and already extended our stay by another day ( 4 nights total) and would easily stay a whole week! We had the best stay here. We felt right at home and felt as if we've known them years and would defo stay again when we return to the Philippines! We could rent a moped from roberto to get about and it's the way forward, much cheaper than getting a tricycle everywhere and Angelo told us to visit The Best beach. It was paradise! And so close to the resort. I would highly recommend staying

The house is very old but is beautiful and has a rich history - there are signs of it everywhere (furniture, newspaper clippings), but dont be surprised to see some ants and bugs around (its the philippines!). Mosquito net on my bed was helpful. Was surprised at how strong the shower pressure is - best shower pressure ive had in the PH. Breakfast is affordable with very generous portions. The staff makes this place home, and I have to thank them for such a memorable time in Bohol. If there’s anything I could say to improve, I would rec’d brighter lights in the dorm rooms. Most people say to stay on Alona beach, but visiting it for a day and I didn’t enjoy being harrassed by so many vendors, on a subpar beach. Just visit for a day to be surrounded by tourists. You’ll enjoy Bohol much more from your stay in Tagbi, then travel around at your own convenience. Will certainly stay here again next time I’m in Bohol!

It’s in a lovely quiet spot but to access u need a motorbike(Veronica rents these at a good rate) so if you can’t ride u may need to reconsider staying here. My room was small, but ok...but no warm water as hws not installed, no television...could use a shared fridge and kitchen which was fine. The bed was comfortable but it was noted the sheets had a few holes in them. It is also very quiet at night and in the morning unlike much of Alona Beach. It’s not on Google Maps so you will have to ring the host for pick up after you get to Alona. Would I stay again? Yes but it is a work in progress, but I repeat u really need to be able a motorbike to stay there.

The wooden bench and hammock on the porch put a nice touch on things. The worker made a bamboo raft the day before we got there and not only encuraged us to use it to jump into the warm river that runs just in front of the hotel but also offered to take pictures for us while we were swimming about the area

It was good 5 minute walk from Alona beach. The airport bus also stops in front the hostel so it's very convenient going to and from the airport. The doors in each room are equipped with digital door lock with passcode. I was amazed with how they came up with the idea of the DIY oatmeal for breakfast. Will definitely book with them again when I come back in Bohol. Also, I've already recommended them with my friends.

The customer service was beyond my expectation especially the owners , I really appreaciate Mr & Mrs Yap (sister of the Owner ) for their kindness. They are still revamping the facilities to give every tourist a place to stay and be more comfortable. I think they also offer free airport/pier - hotel tranfer if you book directly to them. ( if Im not mistaken )

The best for me was that i didnt feel like a guest or customer, it was more like staying at a friends house or having dinner with my family. They have excellenty contacts to guides doing canyoneering, know everything about the area around, help me with everything in a way i rarely expect from my friends... Renting a motorbike is about 30% more cheap than in any other place, and what i also really liked, you just have a bill they put on everything, so there is no need to carry they wallet all time with you...the beach is like 50m away, theres a natural lake... Arriving in moalboal its easy and cheap to go there by taxi, and as soon as you are there all the tricicles cost just 20 pesos instead of 50 or 100 when you take them in moalboal center... Thats it! If you like to enjoy go there 😉

Stayed in the newly opened resort for 4 nights. The kids loves the big pool. Check in and check out went very smoothly. Nice reception and bar with outdoor seating. Similarly the remote control of the AC has all the functions only in Chinese. Probably good if one reads Chinese. The Chinese electric shower proved to be defect and the staff came to fix it. But it was an operation that was about to take time, so after 15 min I told them to fix after my check out. The hotel has a huge swimming pool which unfortunately was close for treatment on my stay. Otherwise the staff and the Chinese manager were very nice and friendly like most of the people in the Philippines.

the hotel is about 1.5h away from the bohol airport, in the quiet area of anda. facility wise: jacuzi, swimming pool, pool table. lobby and eating area taking great advantage of the fantastic view. rooms were clean, well maintained. no aircon in the room though. staff was polite, well informed, attentive and discreet. hotel food, if priced above local standards (at about us$ 10-15/meal) was excellent. reason to go (and come back): one of the most astonishing views in bohol. on the edge of a small cliff over the beautiful sea. for divers and snorkelers: hotels is very well equipped. equipment rental is painless and cost effective. the house reef itself is a sort swim away. caves, corals; tons of nudibranches, star fishes and other frogfishes/lion fishes await you. also excellent for snorkeling as the house reef is 50m away from the hotel. on the low side: enjoying the local filipino food was a little difficult as the local villages have very little choice in terms of eateries. that would be the only small negative point. i would also not recommend the place for party goers. this is a great quiet area, lost in the bohol nature & local villages. wonderful, wonderful place. the perfect quiet retreat.i will definitely be back. p-a

Carafe of filtered water refilled each day, water bottle per day, good mini bar. Bathroom good size. Only problem was no hot water in shower. Friend's room did not have this problem so a one off that needs to be looked at. Western breakfast made to order with limited choices but very good! Owners could not have been nicer along with all staff here! Pool was relaxing for dip at end of day. Close to beach and main road. Would absolutely recommend!

I had only booked for one night, but found Bluewater a beautiful stop off on a 2 day trip to Bohol and Panglao... A real sense of peace in the resort, with marvelous rooms (I have stayed in bigger, and fancier, but not sure I have ever stayed in one that gave me such a sense of peace. The pool and pool bar were small/medium, but beautifully formed! The restaurant food was excellent (and reasonably priced too). cons: only a few... 1. wireless internet is poor. Didnt reach my room. As someone who needs to connect daily for work, that was a big minus. Easily solvable with a cheap booster AP at the poolbar end of the hotel (as I suggested to reception)... 2. it is off the beaten track (literally!). It is not on the main beach or socializing zone, and as such you will need to use the courtesy minibus of the hotel to get to the busier, more attractive beaches.. I guess if I was summing up I would say that it is perfect for a romantic getaway, or for a solo traveller, or family just wanting me/us time...it suited me down to the ground and I thought it was lovely. Thoroughly recommend.

Magic Oceans is a great resort. However, it is primarily tailored to hardcore divers and wealthy tourists. The excellent quality of the rooms, modern style, and affordability of the price per night for a bungalow defines a Magic Oceans stay. The staff is extremely knowable and friendly. The pool and grounds are clean and well maintained. BUT the cost of the amenities and facilities are much more expensive than other hotels in Bohol. For example, the motor bike rental price per day offered at Magic Oceans is almost double than other places nearby Anda. Pickup in Tagbilbaran and shuttle to the resort is $60. Lunch and Dinner at the restaurant is typically $20 to $30. So it might be advisable to find alternative services nearby the Resort during your stay to keep the overall cost of your stay more affordable. In saying that, I highly recommend this resort if you're traveling to Bohol. Magic Oceans and the surrounding area contrasts with Alona Beach in Bohol. You will have a more relaxing and intimate experience away from the crowds in Alona Beach. Although Magic Oceans doesn't have sandy beach access there are several options nearby in Anda which are quite beautiful.

Boffo Resort is a place we found to be absolutely amazing. The exquisite design and elegant decor are accentuated by the robust woodwork. The bridged entry over the koi pool to the lobby is a beautiful touch that, for us, was the genesis of the serenity that we experienced at Boffo Resort. The landscaping was immaculate and the pool was crystal clear, we enjoyed the view of the sea while listening to a tasteful selection of music provided by the outdoor speakers. Our room was spacious and sparkling clean. And the oversized bed was very comfortable after a day of traveling. We enjoyed the very thoughtful amenities and the convenience of the minibar. We cannot say enough about this amazing resort. The best way to understand its serenity is to book a stay and experience it for yourself! Many thanks to the professional, friendly staff for helping to make our stay one we shall remember for a lifetime. Compliments to the owners on a beautiful vision transformed to a reality.

As people who work in the hospitality and accommodation industry, we were blown away with the thought and attention to detail that Marc and Rose have put into their accommodation. Literally a home away from home, with many added bonuses our every need was catered for. Whether you wanted to just laze around in the peaceful garden setting or get out and about and explore, they had everything covered. We hired the scooter for the whole time we were there and found it ideal for getting down to Alona Beach and days out exploring he island. Great fun but do be careful on the Bohol roads especially at night (not for the faint hearted) although they were better than other islands. We could go on and on about the great facilities, the food, the top class service etc, but don’t let us spoil it for you.. go and check it out yourselves! We’ll definitely be back!

Location: 10 min walk from Port of Tagbilaran. In front of University of Bohol. Place: It has gate. and inside the inn is so cozy and instagrammable. Room: We booked the DOUBLE ROOM and stayed for 1 night. The CR is very very small. EVERYTHNG IS GOOD, EXCEPT THAT SMALL CR. -ThanJoooooooooo

Blue tooth speaker hooked up to amazon - just need to speak out your songs to Alexia! We had a lot of fun!!Ellen was a supurb host and went the extra mile so many times.

I've been to Bohol several times in the past few years and I always choose to stay close to Alona Beach because it has that good balance of both relaxation, peace (with a gorgeous white sand beach), and a bit of fun and activity (not TOO quiet, boring or empty). The Amorita Resort is by far the best resort I've stayed at in Bohol - and I can say it could be one of the best in the Philippines as well. The layout, design and architecture of the resort on the cliff is like no other. The views are breathtaking and access to the white beach is just a few steps away via a secure staircase. The infinity pools are gorgeous and the decks offer a very nice place to get some sun for the day. The rooms are gorgeous. Industrial designed modern lofts that have minimalist fixtures and lavish bathrooms, and a huge balcony facing the garden view. The minibar is well stocked, free, and is replenished everyday. Food is definitely also a highlight, from the breakfast buffet to the ala carte specials (try the grilled pork chops!), while the bar offers a great buy-one-take-one happy hour deal from 3-7pm. There are many things to see and do on the resort itself (it's huge) like exploring the hidden cove, multiple infinity pools, table tennis, viewing decks, biking, and hammock spots to name a few. And the staff is very well-trained, helpful, and pleasant - they even leave you personalised notes each day in your room. I can go on more about this resort, but in the end, it's definitely worth the expense. I leave the rest to your experience. Highly recommended.

I think I had the best time staying in this resort, the pool is huge, I stayed like 2 hrs in it, and the staff were all great. The staff are extremely nice and accomodating, the front desk staff are very helpful and they help me a lot like booking and stuff. The restaurant staff were awesome. I just had a really great stay in Bohol Shores, I will definitely go back.

God bless!

We stay in the hotel from 12 July to 17 July. We choose this hotel as per the picture show and indeed, what you see in the picture does not justify how beautiful the hotel is in real. This holiday if for me and my Bf's anniversary and the staff makes it extra special as they gave us a complimentary cake for our Anniversary celebration. This may seems to be a small things but it does makes a lot of difference. I can say that this hotel is one of the best hotel we have been to. They have the most friendly staff that speaks good English and room itself is well maintained room. If i remembered correctly there was a room service twice to maintained your room. Breakfast is great as well. If you are planning to get this hotel make sure you have it with breakfast as their BF is buffet style and they have lots of variety to choose from. Take note, their breakfast do change every day! The location is somehow located in western part of Panglao Island, I suggest you communicate with the hotel when you will be arriving as they have a pick up service from Airport to hotel which is 30-40 mins drive. Dinner is ok but i suggest you go somewhere that is way much cheaper than the hotel price. We rented a scooter as well to go around. Scooter is cheap PHP500 for a day and pretty much decent. Easiest way to go around the island and go to main city. I remembered that 2 days before we check out, typhoon hit Philippines. I am amazed how Bohol is not that much affected with the typhoon although it does rain but not heavy. After going around the area through scooter, realizing that rain will not going to stop soon, we decided to go back to hotel and stay. Initially thought it was boring but although we are stuck in the hotel, there are so many things to do, go to gym, play indoor sport, play playstation. All are provided. Overall, i am very happy that we choose Bellevue Hotel and will highly recommend it for Family and couples who want to have a great beach holiday in Bohol.

Worst experience ever!!!! Our booking has been redirected to booking.com as an overbooking. We were told by the staff when we've arrived at their front desk. Though they reserved rooms for us at another hotel but didn't inform us before our arrival.

Traveler impressions of Bohol
Rent a bike and travel around. Bohol is a good place to experience long bike rides. Or take the local bus transport.
The people are super-friendly and very helpful. I personally enjoyed taking the local bus ride. Bohol is quite similar to Kerala, India. Nature at its fullest. Spend atleast 3 full days. Take your own time to travel and explore places. Stay away from the package tours as I believe they take you to lot of unnecessary touristy spots which really aint worth.
Best way going by local tour, if going by ourselves will take longer time. we have paid for only 2,000 peso whole day, going around including Loboc lunch river cruice, chocolate hill, Tarsier conservation area etc, very worthed.
Bohol's main attraction is in Panglao, although there are other parts of Bohol that is yet to be discovered like Anda and Candijay.
I saw the old churches. I just hope they get to restore it soon. I liked Loboc River and Chocolate Hills
FIRST OF ALL BOHOL IS NOT A CITY...ITS A PROVINCE...OR ISLAND....TAGBALARIN....IS THE MAIN CITY ALONA BEACH IS WERE WE WENT.
...VERY NICE
First of all, Bohol is not a city but an island with many cities and towns. We enjoyed the visit to the tarsier sanctuaries and chocolate hills very much.
The attractions such as Tarsier Park and Chocolate hills is a must to see when you are in this island.
Otherwise, there's nothing much else to do here besides sun tanning along the beautiful beaches.
bohol has it all, beach, culture, nature, food. not to mention their kind and friendly people. when in bohol a must visit are the, chocolate hills of course which bohol is famous for and the philippine tarsier - smallest primate.
aside from that, there century old churches in almost every town. marvel at the man made forest that you get to pass by before going to the chocolate hills. never missed out on the dolphin watching, snorkeling and island hopping.
Full of Friendly locals that are genuine in trying to assist you and make your stay memorable. Lots of things to do and explore, from relaxation, to the immense culture, to the hair raising daredevil activities.
Chocolate hills and island hopping are a must.
A bit expensive for the poor structure. Nice place to visit, good dives. Chocolate hills and tarsiers sanctuary is worth it, the rest of the tour (butterfly sanctuary, the python - that is dead now, blood compact.
..) not that much.
This is my second time in Bohol and I think this island has a lot to offer. It survived the earthquake of 2013 but a lot of it's major landmarks i.
e. old churches were affected and some even reduced to rubble. However, they've still got a lot of attractions to see especially if you take the countryside tours and the water tours. Don't miss the Chocolate Hills, Loboc River Cruise, Virgin Island and the Marine Sanctuary.
BOHOL OFFERS BEST MONEY VALUE FOR YOUR VACATION ACTIVITIES. THE PLACE IS SO PEACEFUL AND TRAFFIC IS UNLIKE OTHER PLACES.
THE RUINS OF THE CENTURIES OLD CHURCHES WHICH WERE HIT BY A POWERFUL EARTHQUAKE ADDED TO THE MYSTERY OF THE PROVINCE. THE TOURIST SPOTS ARE VERY ACCESSIBLE. BOHOL HAS A VERY CONDUCIVE CLIMATE FOR OUTDOOR AND SEA ACTIVITIES.
nice place plenty of things to visit just rent a moto for 350 pesos 24 hours and youll be the boss to visit the chocolate hills, honey bridge, the cave, the small tessier, the jungle and many other places.
..by the way youll need the moto for 3-4 days...:)
nice place and a lot of things to see around, medium prices but you have to negociate....its ok for a trip.
..:)
There isn't a city called Bohol so i don't know what your referring to..if you mean Tagbilaran the capital then it is just alright as it is crowded and busy as are most larger filipino cities, i do find that the inhabitants can be alot more friendly towards foreigners and not stare so much and be rude especially the filipino men.
.they need to learn some manners big time!! I expected filipinos to be more friendly but sadly thats not the case!!
Happy to see the place clean and tidy. Loboc river is well looked after. Food is not too great but the locals are very friendly thus making the holiday easier and relaxing.
bohol really nice .. i must back there again .... u can have fun every day .. every night .
Bohol has the richness of its white beaches and clear water and amazing countryside tour, chocolate hills was beautiful.
Fresh seafood and water sports activities. A Dolphins haven. Beautiful minus the noisiest and chaos of Boracay.
I love Bohol, been here several times. But its my first after the major earthquake some two years ago.
I notice that Baclayon Church now has an entrance fee, it was a dismay since this is a church, a place of worship. I would suggest that instead of compulsory entrace fee, it should be a voluntary donation.
Fantastic area but be aware that flights are always late and frequently cancelled. Have a backup plan
The province of Bohol has many tourist attractions to accommodate a wide variety of travelers. Aside from the beach, we saw the old churches that unfortunately were heavily damaged by the earthquake two years ago.
We also saw the Tarsiers and proceeded to the beach which was our main reason for visiting the place. The car hire driver was very helpful too.
We LOVE Bohol! Churches, waterfalls, caves, beaches, attractions, nature, activities! It has everything!
I stayed in Bohol for 4days. I went to Balicasaq for snowcooling and I had experiences for tour some famouse place like chocolate hill and Tarsier monkey and so on.
It's very beautiful Island. I would like to visit again.
Had so much in Bohol , i highly suggest you visit Bohol soon , i assure you will definitely enjoy it here too.
Bohol is a really nice place. It's not too modern and the island has preserved its culture and natural resources.
It's a really good place for rest and relaxation.
It is one of the more developed island within the Philippines. Roads, airport access, tourism places organization are much better than standard in the rest of Philippines.
It's a beautiful place but nothing compare to Palawan & Boracay...But the chocolate hills is something you never see somewhere else but only in Bohol.
..
You've gotta visit the all tourist spots and experience all adventures and fun if possible, you would really enjoy it.
If you have chance to stay in Bohol, I highly recommend you to go Panglao. Great view, and there are many activities.
Also you can relax in the good resort.
