"We have a special place in our hearts for this quirky 1960's-motel-become-hotel. We love its location, sandwiched right between the CU campus and the major new shopping area in Boulder, and the prices we can often book are a good value in expensive Boulder. Its entrances off Hwy 36 (going south) or off Colorado (into the delivery alley) are strange, but the parking lot is spacious, and has shade trees! The rooms are spacious and clean, but no frig or microwaves; beds are comfortable. Breakfast is not included, and you can only get the buffet($$). But the food at the restaurant is good, and the ambience pleasant. The outdoor patio/courtyard in the back is a treasure we love - with a bar for food/drink service, tables to sit in the shade of old trees and read/relax, tennis courts and pool, all bordering on lovely Boulder Creek and trail. A gem for those who can tolerate less than perfect service and maintenance, but don't want either the cheapest motels or the expensive hotels."

"We are Senior citizens who travel on a budget. We try to pay no more than $100 per night total for room. We do not need a pool, spa, or weight room. We do require that the staff be genuine and the facility be clean. Our room as more like a studio apartment. The facility is old but I felt comfortable, safe, and cared about. "

"I've stayed in many hostels over the past year (traveling around the world) This one was one of the worst. It was filled will homeless people and since it's all mixed dorms ( Males & Females) I was stuck with sharing a space with 3 guys. 1 was an older guy (nice as can be) but basically homeless. I asked the receptionist if she could change my room to another one with at least 1 other girl in and she said no, they don't do that. It might have been better if they had curtains for each bed for privacy but that still wouldnt make up for the homelessness and dirtiness. The bathroom floor had tons on pubic hair and looked like it hadnt had a proper cleaning in a while. Its all carpeted and people walk in with their shoes. Old furniture. Sink had standing water in it, I left without taking a shower since I would have felt more dirty if I had to use theirs. It is however in a fantastic location right in the canyon with hiking right outside your door. Also has a peaceful river. "
