There were not many visitors rushing here and there. We met many energetic and friendly Brisbane citizens.
They also enjoyed talking with us which made us feel at home.
We found the Brisbane citizens are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their style of living and the nice food.
We were re-locating to Brisbane after living overseas for years. We found the people of Brisbane friendly, helpful and very patient especially with our lack of confidence with driving on the roads.
It's a vibrant, busy city with some really great infrastructure. We especially enjoyed travelling on the City Hopper ferry, walking through the Botanic gardens, the Southbank precinct and parklands.Looking forward to exploring more when we've settled in.
Fair mix of nationalities that seem to intermix well, not too much rush, staff are mostly helpful and friendly.
Beware of cab ripoffs!! But overall a nice city to visit, some sidewalks are a bit grubby, but this appears to be Australia wide. Ex Territorian so Brisbane is doing okay
Lovely city centre that revolves around the river. Good for starting early in the morning and just walking along the entire river bank.
Simply gorgeous to have the river right in the middle of the city.
road system designed by a lunatic who has never travelled by motor car. easy to get the car into a car-park but almost impossible to get back to the car park to retrieve the car.
forget the two-second gap between cars, the rule in brisbane is to drive in the boot of the car in front of you.
Brisbane is a great city and find it very clean and tidy and very easy to get around we just love to visit.
Decent place, the city itself doesn't have much to offer other than being a laid back city. Southbank was a really nice and chilled place to hang out.
Had a very nice experience watching "Dirty Dancing"in the Ben & Jerry's open air cinema. 2 thumbs up!
Including Brisbane's CBD, its suburbs, and surrounding day-trips, Brisbane seems to have just about everything except snow sports.
Its weather is mild, its people really friendly (we saw few if any sour faces on our visit), and found more places of interest than we could possibly handle in a month of Sundays. This city spoils for choices.
great city the maps were very easy to follow and so we got around walking and using public transport.
the go card for travel was so convienent and cheap and we even got a refund or our deposit.
Brisbane is a city that is growing up offering great food, restaurants wines and coffees. The city cat service is amazing very reasonable and very friendly staff, found majority of locals only to happy to help.
Staff a the big department stores were amazing. Taxis were easy to get around the city Loved Eagle Street Pier not just for the restaurants but also the walk. Southbank always have something to offer. Did not get to the beaches this time but next stop a definate.
Mainly travel to Brisbane for business. Certainly has become cosmopolitan over the years and has grown up from a sleepy centre to a quiet vibrancy.
Many new buildings and a high population growth.
Brisbane is a vibrant city with much to offer. There is Suncorp stadium for the footy fans , Museum and science centre for the history buff ,beautiful old buildings, nightlife and a multitude of dining options.
This was my first visit to an Australian city. I was impressed by the orderliness, everything (public transport, airport, taxis etc) seemed to function.
The city seemed to have a young, racially mixed population which gave the place a sense of livliness. At the same time it was not overly hectic and the locals were welcoming and friendly.
easy to travel by bus train and ferry, good food and shopping. Southbank worth a visit and close to stadiums for football.
Brisbane is one of the best city, mostly you will find High rise buildings. Brisbane City center is one of the landmark location.
other locations near to Brisbane River is also worth travelling to.
Fantastic shopping; great art gallery and museum; great trips along the river in the river cats; get yourself a hotel or motel near the river and watch everything at night lit up - it is very beautiful.
Can highly recommend the South Bank for leisure and time out wandering in the sun. Nature and wildlife parks are amazing and worth a visit. As a newcomer to driving around Brisbane it is sometimes difficult without a navigator as roads tend to be one way and confusing. Walking across the various bridges is lovely. The food options are amazing and worth going out for. Overall a great time and plenty more to return for.
Enjoy Southbank - the markets are great. Catch the ferry and enjoy the Brisbane River in both directions and plan your trip to get the free ferry too.
Brisbane has become my favourite destination for holiday travel from my home city of Sydney. It has plenty to offer in its own right, and also serves as the 'gateway' to the rest of Queensland, which has plenty more to offer.
Unless your primary interest is snow sports (in which case, look elsewhere) Queensland is an ideal holiday destination.
An ideal city for stopover for five days on the way home or to spend a week and enjoy the shopping and sightseeing.
Brisbane, being the captical of Queensland. It's easy to get to "Gold Coast" from here Throgh Rail Way.
If you love nature, Queensland is definitely your place. Brisbane would be the best place to stay. Outback, historical tours, cultural exchanges. Many things are happening in this Sunshine State. People here are friendly and lovely. They're really helpful everywhere we go. Totally Love this place!
Brisbane is the capital of Queensland, this is where the University of Queensland located, I was here, just to show my kids the University and also visit an old friend who move over here.
Overall it is a nice place to stay, good shopping mall, clean city, people are very friendly.
Walking, bicycling, bus, train or ferry so handy to get around to view all the sights. My neice and i used all transport minus bicycling or car as i find concentrating always important for safety.
We stayed 7 nights needed probably another 2 or 3 days. Thank you Brisbane sharing your lovely city.
Lots of areas to walk, botanic gardens beautiful, hiring bikes and riding around the river is lovely.
Eating out in beautiful weather amongst great scenery was lovely.
loved the southbank precinct with shops, food, and entertainment for the kids. Loved the Caxton street area for nights out and the casino for a flutter.
Easy to negotiate city, mostly friendly people
The access to City Cats take you up the river with the option of paying for a two zone ticket that allows you to do the full river trip with the options of getting on and off over a two hr period.
Your final destination being the one you want, South Bank Markets, Museum, Art Gallery, Queen st mall, Ten Pin Bowling, laser tag, every nationality of food options and plenty to see in the shopping sectors. Bridge climb for those that don't have vertigo and unlimited walks along the waterfront and memorial gardens. Kangaroo point is a stroll over the good will bridge and the naval museum along with the picnic areas make Brisbane a wonderful place to visit especially on the weekend.
Do visit the gold coast theme parks, harbourfront market and Queens street for some shopping (however many shops are closed very early so do go early instead).
A very pleasant place that has been overshadowed by her big sister Sydney....not as much grace her but she is a god looking lady.
Lots of pizzazz, very modern and sleek I hada a wonderful 10 days and will return one day.
Attendant on Cat was not well informed about the closure of certain points. Consequently we arrived at the city when the shops which we wished to visit were closed.
Instructions to board the P & O cruise ship was very inadequate. Definitely more signage is required. Information on the internet regarding shopping at the wharf was misleading. The Conxtion transport service is highly recommended. Safe, accommodating and easily contactable. Thank you.
