Discover the neighborhoods of Broome

Broome is a popular tourist destination for Australians during the dry season thanks to its beaches, atmosphere, and history as a pearling town. The city sits on a peninsula in the north of Western Australia, flanked by the Indian Ocean, Roebuck Bay, and Dampier Creek. Broome International Airport is conveniently placed for quick and easy access to the city with several airlines catering to the region.

Broome boasts some excellent beaches, and Cable Beach takes the crown as the best there is. It even has camels to ride. There are also the beaches of Redell and Town. The historic pearling industry can be visited at Pearl Luggers in the heart of Chinatown which includes the last two surviving pearling luggers as well as an authentic pearler’s store. A working pearl farm, Willie Creek Pearl Farm, can also be visited. For some natural beauty, check out Gantheaume Point or head to Roebuck Bay for bird watching. For those wanting to explore the surroundings, a number of national parks are close by and make for good day trips.
