Having been to Bucharest three times in the last two years, I'm getting accustomed to its ways. If you are polite and not too critical, the Romanians are charming, and they have a sense of playfulness that runs across everything - from their menus to their museums to their clubs to their gun ranges.
As Romania is in the EU, but not on the Euro, it's all good value for money. The city is changing quickly, and there are new restaurants and cuisines appearing all the time, so you don't want to wait too long before visiting
The city itself is pretty gray, noisy and full of annoying ads. There aren't that many things to see, with the exception of some historical, cultural or administrative buildings.
I was surprised by the amount of homeless persons, and the price of restaurants is higher than what you would usually find in Romania or other neighboring countries. The most ridiculous part was the bus system: you cannot use it unless you buy a special card, which they were out of stock at every stand. Lots of people were rightfully complaining about this issue. If you don't have this card, the only way to get an airport is by using a taxi. Ask at the hotel you are staying for a good cab company. In conclusion, I would not go there again unless I really have to.
at the first time, you may don't like this city. the economy classes are diversed as I see. the city is getting modern but because of the inflation, the things price cost lots.
it is not so nice for shopping. but there are lots business chance.
too big with too many run downs and attraction is not tourist friendly. city map provided by hotel and at airport is not very clear for direction .
people are not so friendly or at least they don't look friendly and most are not tourist helper. road signage is poor and hard to find. public toilet also difficult to find. the park is nice right in the middle of the city
Good place to eat, drink, party, meet new people! Crowded, not a lot of stuff to visit except the PEOPLE'S HOUSE, bigest building in the city!
Bucharest is a historical city, especially the old town. But the building are lack of maintenance, thus the appearance are not very well.
Also, if you stay there more than 2 nights would be a bit bore.
the general population of Romania is so much more than we know from our side of Europe. Absolutly something I will recomand to my friends.
Great city with very firendly inhabitants. Of course there are lots of gypsies who are annoying people thats a part of the country.
Beautiful place to to go to bars, restaurants, shopping... lots of things to do there...
Bucharest is FULL of history. Parliament house is very interesting. Old Town is quaint. other than that, there isnt much to do.
