Where to stay in Bukit Lawang
Bukit Lawang hotels & accommodations

Our group of 4 adults (2 couples) stayed in the family suite for 1 night only. The room is very impressive! A stunning outlook from a huge balcony to enjoy the view and a shower overlooking the rainforest. But as all the other reviews say, be warned if you book this room, the steps leading up to it are seriously STEEP! It's so worth it and if you're fit and healthy it'...

I would recommend this to everyone. We had ân amazing stay at this place. The rooms are big en clean. The guesthouse is right next to the water, which gives it a really relaxed vibe. The food is really good and you can arrange a lot of trekkings here. But the best part is the owner, Bob. Ân awesome young guy. Thanks to him, the place felt like our second home. So if y...

Definately the most beautiful place to stay in Bukit Lawang ! The small, very nicely decorated hotel lies at the river bank with a great jungle view. The rooms are very clean, spacious and you find everything you need. But for me the best was the garden next to river where you can enjoy your breakfast or a drink in one of the sunchairs. Staff is also very friendly a...

We absolutely loved our stay at the Brown Bamboo homestay. The staff was very friendly and the owner (Gia) is a really funny guy. Highly recommended if you're in Bukit Lawang! Very, very good value for the price. We also had a guide named Baik for the jungle trek & he was amazing! He spoke really good English, was funny & very knowledgeable. Thanks again for everything...

Early in the morning the monkeys (macacas) made a lot of noise on the rooftop, on New Year weekend a lot of local guests were at Bukit Lawang so it was crowded and noisy too. Don't expect any comfort and and too much cleanliness in the room (it is a zero stars Guest House). But you can expect friendly and supportive stuff members.

I would like to say thank you so much to Putra, it was the best experience I could ever imagine in Bukit Lawang. When we came by bus he was waiting for us in the bus station, he bring us to the hostel and since then we felt just welcome. We book a 2 days trek in the jungle and we were very lucky, -he said- because we see almost everything you we expect. The trek was ex...

Backpackers stay, eco friendly, fortunately we had an old but strong car that brought is up the hill because the road was gone. Hammocks but no chairs but hey, this is about going back to nature. Friendly owners, passionate about their love for animals, especially snakes.

Good location above river, very close to bridge to jungle. Friendly, helpful staff and good restaurant. On our return they allowed us to use a room to shower without asking for anything. We tipped them well of course. Rooms are simple but clean. Great value.

We arrived in Medan and Dewi met us at the airport. After arriving at Bukit Lawang, it is another 5 minute motorbike ride or a 30 minute walk to get to Batu Kapal. This gets you away from the tourist throngs of Bukit Lawang and places you on a village trail with locals passing by Batu Kapal, collecting durians, tapping rubber and delivering supplies. The accommodation...
