It is easy to visit montagnard villages and the very large Raday Christian church about 10 km out of town on the old 'Saigon' Road.
The growth of Christianity has been very great in recent years and the phenomenon is worth observing.
It is a unique city that deserves a stay for a few days. A city full of potentials and friendly people A city full of history and very agreeable climate A city full of things to do A city to become a highland hub for all exceptioanlpersuits
Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak) now is very developing but it's still nice, peace with some beautiful place. It's a wonderful trip and I think I'll come back here.
Please visit and discover Buon Ma Thuot, you'll not regret :)
Buon Ma Thuot is a nice city in the central highlands of Vietnam. Do visit the Trung Nguyen coffee shop for some coffee, or a light meal or snack.
It's architecture is absolutely stunning and makes a perfect place to stop off and relax for a little while whilst in town. Most of the area's attractions are actually located outside of town, including visits to minority villages, elephant rides, coffee plantations, waterfalls and motorcycle rides to Dalat or Nha Trang through hilly or mountainous terrain.
The main attractions are out of town- Dak Lak lake is worth a visits, especially if you appreciate non-touristy places.
You may not see many otherWestern tourists around so hire a guide.
The people are rather friendly, and will shout hello to tourists, but you may get tired of the constant stares.
Buon Ma Thout is not much of a tourist town, and as such, there's not much to see or do, and it can be rather unaccommodating, as compared to places like Saigon or Nha Trang. If you enjoy seeing smaller city life, or "real" Vietnamese life, swing by for a short visit. If you prefer beaches, bars, and shopping malls, skip it.
it's very hot at nood but a cool evening, but the food is fine, take a view to waterfall or maountain, bangalow.
very good for sightseeing. it is good for old children to know the culture of people staying in the highland
The food at night market on Tran Nhat Duat street is very good and reasonable price. There is also a beautiful lake named EA KAO (12km from the city center) which provides almost fish for the TAy Nguyen area.
This lake is not listed on the attractive places to go in Ban Me Thuot city, but the local people are very familiar with this lake and it's a good lake to relax.
Buon Ma Thuot is a small city, though rapidly developing and growing, it still retains the charm of a small city.
To our surprise, the streets are quite clean, with lots and lots of greens. I actually like Buon Ma Thuot much better than Da Lat, as am attracted by the quietness and relaxing atmosphere of the city. We walk around a lot, just to enjoy the fresh air. Unlike Da Lat, tourism is not the main source of income for Buon Ma Thuot and the development of the city caters more to its own citizens than to tourists, which is what I like most. We do plan to come back many times more to explore other places around the city.
