More about Cannes

From a small fishing village to one of the world’s most glamorous cities, Cannes is a destination that enthralls all. The luxury of this seaside town certainly appeals to the rich and famous, but it is not out of reach of every budget, with something that will allow all to enjoy the splendors of the city. The Cannes-bound traveler will arrive via Nice’s Cote d’Azur International Airport, and the train from there to Cannes provides the cheaper alternative along with amazing views along the French Riviera.

From people watching to gala dinners, Cannes is a well-rounded tourist destination draped in Mediterranean bliss. There are historical sites, markets, incredible architecture and cityscapes, culture, and a chance to see the stars. The Festival de Cannes held at the Palais des Festivals in May is the highlight of the city and an excellent time to visit if you don’t mind the crowds. To explore the city and its origins, head to the Tour du Masque, Art and History of Provence Museum, and the Old Town. The Lérins Islands make for a great day trip with castle ruins, a monastery, shops, bars, and restaurants. If looking for a true dining experience, there is no better place than the Covered Market at the end of rue Meynardiers, one of Cote’s best gourmand streets. Round out your itinerary with a trip to one of the beaches, a stop at the port tor International Yacht Club to spot some mega-yachts, and a visit to the perfume manufacturer at Molinard.
