Cape Grace Hotel and Spa
V & A Waterfront,Cape Town - View on map
"It's classic luxury with a modern twist. The exquisite painting-like wallpaper, industrial accessories styled like art installations on each floor, and grand furniture make you feel presidential. The concierge is some of the best we've ever dealt with. Absolutely brilliant. The rooms include toiletries you wouldn't normally expect, such as fabric wash and shaving cream. Excellent touch! Breakfast is delicious. The staff at Bascule are incredibly friendly and knowledgable. In-room dining was not as tasty as everything else, but we did order from their late night menu, which may have had something to do with it. All in all, Cape Grace Hotel helped make our Cape Town experience incredible."

"We celebrated our wedding anniversary and stayed for 2 nights. Everything was above expectation - not to mention the magnificent sea view from our room! Thanks to everyone who made our stay so so special. We got surprised with bubbly and rose petals on our bed. So special - thank you again. Hope to see you soon again. "

Happy Rhino Hotel
Cape Town City Center,Cape Town - View on map
"The single rooms also need to have a full length mirror in them and the hotel needs to do something about the wet floors when it rains, I understand it's under construction but the wet floors could cause serious injury. Plus an extra blanket wouldn't hurt considering the fact that winter is very cold in Cape town plus a remote for the TV and cutlery was forgotten in my room. This is just a reminder I reckon they were in the rush to get the room ready I wasn't really bothered but some travellers might be. "

Cape Town Lodge Hotel
Cape Town City Center,Cape Town - View on map
"The hotel is located a few blocks from Bo-Kaap, near a hop on/off bus stop going to Table mountain and the other direction takes you to the waterfront. The staff and facilities were absolutely wonderful. The biggest surprise (we booked the suite) was the 3-level loft with full kitchen/ living room/ dining (level 1), the master bedroom (level 2) with larger closet area & master bathroom and then an absolutely beautiful balcony view. The loft (level 3) was a complete working office and sitting room with big leather chairs - awesome. Lastly the restaurant server most likely the best steaks in Cape Town - a must try for meat lovers..."

Traveler impressions of Cape Town

More about Cape Town

Cape Town has quickly become one of Africa's most sought-after travel destinations by boasting excellent museums, Dutch colonial architecture, and great outdoor activities, including rock climbing, mountain biking, surfing, and wildlife-spotting at Table Mountain.

Cape Town is famous for its selection of affordable guesthouses, but luxury hotels and cozy bed and breakfasts are also in full supply. Cape Town’s city center, known locally as the City Bowl, is shaped like an amphitheater and holds prominent districts like the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Street markets in the city deal in African handicrafts with a selection spanning affordable souvenirs and African-themed fashions from local designers. The cobblestone streets of De Waterkant are especially atmospheric with a dozen boutiques and a selection of trendy cafés. After a day of shopping, the best places to party in Cape Town are on Long Street or along the bohemian back alleys of Lower Main Road.

Cape Town International Airport offers connections to select cities worldwide. There are a few hotels near Cape Town Airport, but most opt for the 12-mile taxi ride to the City Bowl. Transport options within the city include commuter trains and taxis.

Be sure to check out the interactive map of Cape Town for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
