Hilton Chengdu
New International Conference and Exhibition Center,Chengdu - View on map
"The Hilton Chengdu is a fabulous hotel with well appointed rooms and gracious staff. The staff were professional, courteous, and spoke impeccable English. The language piece for me isn't a requirement (and enjoy practicing my beginning Mandarin), but the stay at Hilton Chengdu was enhanced by the ease of communication. We loved the comfy bed, the beautiful bathroom, as well as the gym and swimming pool. Perhaps the only drawback is that it is far away from the city center. Taxis are readily available, however. Overall, I would stay there again and recommend it to friends."

The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu
Tianfu Square,Chengdu - View on map
"We picked the Ritz-Carlton for our stay in Chengdu as it has a reputation for impeccable quality and we were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived to our departure the staff of this hotel exceeded all expectations. If we could give them 7 stars we would! The level of customer attentiveness, courtesy, service level and professionalism was a joy to see and together with the quality of facilities at the Hotel this is the place to stay when you visit Chengdu. In particular we would like to recognise the contributions of Yuki and Amy at the Front Desk, Aison from Room Service, Aiden from Flair and Louis the amazing Concierge. To the GM of the Hotel keep doing what you are doing this ranks as one of the best stays anywhere in the World Thank you Ritz Carlton Team we hope to have the pleasure to stay and see you again soon. More about Chengdu

Chengdu is the largest city and also the capital of Sichuan Province. The city is the cultural and economic hub of the province. The city is served by Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, which is only about 16 kilometers from the modern and cosmopolitan city center.

Chengdu has a very rich history, much of which is displayed not only in the museums and historical buildings but also along famous streets such as Jinli Street.

The nearby Leshan is home to a giant Buddha statue from the first century. The forest surrounding the Buddha is just as much an attraction, with dramatic cliffs and wild rivers setting the scene.

Sichuan Province is famous its spicy and highly flavorful cuisine, so travelers to this area will do good to experiment with the local restaurants and food carts that are available in most neighborhoods. Explore the exciting shopping and cultural displays found at the popular Chengdu Hehuachi Market.

Perhaps Chengdu's most popular attraction are its pandas. The site of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is where many international and domestic tourists often go to see the over 600 pandas currently in residence. Tours operate through the center in Chinese, Japanese, and English. Chengdu is an exciting balance of a historical city and a modern metropolis, one that must be explored by any world traveler.
