Great location for sun and beach seekers, but poorly maintained city. Some great local food options, hotel we stayed was poorly maintained.
Since cherating is near terenganu deep fried crackers (keropok ikan) are famous here. Keropok cap kapal or ship brand deep fried crackers are nice n sour jeed jard chewy tamarind was also famous here.
There is a small turtle sanctuary here. If u are tarvelling with kids you can go. Free entry.
I am very very disappointed with the highway LPT from Gambang to Cherating. Too many "Reddish" lorries racing & colouring the road.
Very bad & too dangerous when travelling along this highway.
its a backpackers haven. try and stay long and complete an arts & craft project. or spend the day in a hammock reading, soaking up the atmosphere.
The resort and the beach there are nice, is very suitable for 1-2days relaxing trips, but no nightlife activities over there .
And it is just near to Kemaman, Terengganu which a place can find more food and quite famous coffee and stuff crab
a great place to be , away from hussle of Kuala Lumpur or big cities. the beaches offer nice, calm places to reenergise
Cherating Beach is located 45 km north of Kuantan and is one of the most sought after coastal beaches in Peninsular Malaysia.
It used to be one of the favourite spots for backpackers before tourism industry pick up in the nearby islands of Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Lang Tengah and Pulau Redang.
Located between Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan. So you can easily travel to either terengganu or Kuantan after spending your time at Cherating.
Bukit Gambang waterpark is also only 40KMs away from Holiday Villa. Great to spend time with your kids
Cherating is a small town. nothig much at here. you can go to Kemaman to have some nice seafood with just a 15mins drives.
we have stayed in Cherating 3 times now, twice as a couple and once with our Daughter and teenage boys.
So much to do there, Turtle watching, beautiful beaches, great shops, lots of eating places. The people are friendly and helpful and you meet at lot of travelers from all background. Must see place
Hafiz mangrove river cruise is worth to go. Turtle sanctuary is everywhere from Cherating to Kuala Terengganu.
Cherating is a very nice place to get involved in local activities. It is not easy to find expat families or visitors.
Going to Kuantan for one day is worth, the Mosque is very nice and people there quite friendly
It is a great place to visit or come for a holiday with family and your loved ones.It is located near to attraction place and local restaurant.
Best place to come and rest mind far away from busy city centre.Quit surrounding and have a nice view with nice food serve from local restaurant around there.
Gorgeous private beaches. The public beach is quite OK. Shopping - mostly local products. Check out Cherating Turtle Sanctuary and batik tjanting class.
strategic locations with beautiful beaches, sunset and other attractions such as seasonal sighting of turtle breeding ground and sanctuary.
Under developed considering this is one of the best beach I have seen in Peninsular Malaysia. The over industrialization spanning from Kuantan is killing this gem with bushes fires throughout the 3 days I was there, just imagine the air pollution it had created.
Cherating is the best place to have a vacation with your family, children or for couple. This place can offer a lot of variety from different range price and can offer a lot of variety type restaurant with a good quality food.
The price here also affordable for everyone.Nice and clean place to have a vacation here.
A very nice place to spend from 1-2 days, otherwise you will start to get bored as night life is normal and not much of outside activities other than to get to Chukai or Kemaman town.
Hotel facilities very important bcoz nothing much to do in this area accept the beach view from the hotel.
. Relaxing n quiet place to visit.. Highly recommanded for short getaway
It's a perfect place to have a holiday with family, friends or with your love ones. Here they promise satisfaction and money value for tourist that have been there.
With clean and nice view beach.Beside that a lot of hotel from cheaper to luxurious hotel.Tourist can easy find a lot of restaurant there with delicious and unique food. The price also quit affordable to pay.Can learn people culture there that still keep remain their village house and very friendly.
This place situated between Kuantan and Kemaman - along way and good place for relexing and having a break.
The beach is beautiful.. and clean. some hotel share their beach with public, and even have beach motorised games and water game to enjoy.
should try the local food instead of the one serve in the hotel..its affordable, good food and fresh.
nice beaches and sun, nice to relax.. can go turtle sanctuary have a look. see the baby turtle. they are so cute
I like Cherating for its beach, the good foods that available nearby like otak-otak, sata, keropok lekor (fish cracker), nasi dagang, nasi gulai kawah and the famous Hai Peng Coffee House.
You can escape from the business of the city here and forget your diet!
Always loves the Cherating beach. very comforting weather. a lot of swimming activities and seafood.
Cherating located between kuantan town and cukai town, border line for pahang. If you like beach holiday , cherating is one of the nice place to consider, but dun expect much on shopping and night life in this area.
Beautiful and cleans beaches with a lot of hotels nearby such as Legend Resort, Holiday Villa, Suria Cherating, and Impiana Cherating.
The area is only about 10 minutes drive to Chukai town in Kemaman. There is a lot of good food in CHukai.
Friendly local people, and mostly can understand simple english. Local people always welcome foreigners and greet them with lots of smiles.
They will give extra smiles if you can speak a bit of Malay such as "Apa Khabar which means how are you" and "terima kasih which means thank you". The stall retailers will give you extra discount if you can say these two words.
Sleepy old surfer town. Small strip of stores and restaurants. Don't Tell Mama's is one of the better ones.
Budget accommodation can be found down the back road and luxury beach front hotels are North and South of the main strip.
