"I regularly need to stay overnight in Cooma and accordingly I have staid almost everywhere available. The High Country Motel is the best motel I have staid at in Cooma. It is perched up high on the highest hill with sweeping views over Cooma and the ambient countryside. Motel rooms are always clean and come with large windows and individual views of the arid Cooma landscape. The Chinese family who run the motel are a delight to deal with and are popular amongst their regulars who stay there. I don’t think you will get better value in Cooma than the HighCountry Motel "

"Pros include great location, clean rooms, good service, common area which had a microwave and fridge (no fridge in room!), Nice toiletries, decent sized room (we had a deluxe triple room), value for money. Cons include flight of stairs to any of the rooms (not accessible friendly), poor water pressure in shower, weak signal for tv( took 10 minutes to get going). Nothing that was a deal breaker for us. Expect budget room that is comfortable. Only thing is that you need to call the owners to let you in to the reception area (it is locked) when you check in first so you need calling credit in your phone. I am Aussie so it didn't matter but for an international traveller it may be an issue."

"Stayed one night in Cooma on the way to Selwyn. Not long after booking, I got a call from Agoda to advise that the room was double booked but luckily Susie at the motel was able to give us another room immediately which could fit our family of 4, including 2 young kids. The room was a bit squishy especially with our luggage but we didn't mind as it was cosy. Really appreciated the heating and carpark right in front of our room. Bathroom was spotless. Some toiletries were provided but not shampoo and shower gel (but we had our own). Would definitely stay here again :) "
