  1. More about Coron

Coron is a large and densely populated city on the island of Busuanga, located in the Palawan province of the Philippines. Although it is an interesting location on its own, Coron is also a gateway to the rest of the beautiful islands in Palawan, some of which can be easily accessed by a short ferry ride from Coron.

Local and regional flights arrive at Busuanga Airport, mostly from Manila. Coron is also served by ferries which arrive at the Seaport, which is also located in Coron Town. There are many hotels and resorts in Coron Town, making it easy to find the right accommodation either for a relaxing few days in town or island hopping around the area.

Coron is a great place to start an exciting island hopping vacation, as islands such as Culion, which is a former leper colony and features a unique medical museum, are easily accessible by boat or ferry rides from the main town. If choosing to stay in the city, a day spent hiking Mount Tapyasis a must-do for anybody looking for a physically demanding and rewarding activity. The views from the top of the mountain are definitely worth the few hours of climbing up.

Those who enjoy snorkeling and taking in beautiful scenery of stunning rock formations and clear waters will certainly enjoy a day at Barracuda Lake. The lake, which is located on Coron Island and near Uson Island, is easy to get to and offers a great deal of activity and excitement for groups or individuals. There are many hotels near Barracuda Lake, conveniently located in areas surrounding the lake, offering a wide range in selection.
