"Caesar is a great member of staff and a credit to the hotel. The food has improved since our last visit but I still think the hotel needs to go further with hygiene such as using different tongs for meat and vegetables. The chefs are often slow at serving guests in the buffet. They also touch the top of plates, I feel they could use a napkin, seems unhygienic. Reception staff very slow. Rooms are small however the whole place has a nice atmosphere, the beach and sea are stunning and we would return."

"My girlfriend and I stayed at El Cozumeleño for four nights. It was our first time in Cozumel, so we thought we'd try an all-inclusive but would definitely opt for an inexpensive downtown hotel next time. I think some people would really like this place, but it just wasn't for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the lobby staff was competent and efficient if not overly friendly, and the pools and beach were clean. Food and drink servers were very friendly and watchful for an empty cup. The issues for us were the truly poor Mexican fare, undrinkable coffee, and noise level at the pool. The all-you-can-eat buffet had plenty of American food and some local dishes, but it was all cafeteria-quality. I know that's what one should expect from an all-inclusive and some people don't mind eating hamburgers, hot dogs and nachos with squeeze cheese, but after exploring the town and finding some truly great places to eat, I'd rather invest the money I spent on an all-inclusive on a cheap hotel and lots of eating out. A matter of preference, I guess. The awful coffee was probably the worst part - after the first day, we started getting up early and taking a cab into town for coffee and breakfast. The pool - starting at around 11am, the loudspeakers started going, playing the same 20-30 songs. The cd - seriously, cd - would regularly skip, and/or start the song over. Pharrell's "Happy" must have been playing for 20 minutes straight one time, skipping around the whole way. Sort of sets the nerves on edge. I'm in my early thirties, am accustomed to city life, am not a huge drinker and am pretty adventurous. If you're like me, you'd probably be better off at a smaller downtown hotel - Cozumel itself is magical, we will definitely be back. If you're into the all-inclusive thing, El Cozumeleño is a good value. "

"Tropico is modernly built and has all the facilities you need. It is as well very clean. There is a terrase to sit and talk, but no real place to meet people, every one seems to be on their own. You can reach the hostel within a couple minuites walk from the Ferrystation. The main square from the town and lots of restaurants are very close tool"

"A nice hotel with a good location and nice staff. A small but nice pool. A fine breakfast. But, it is not fun to ask for a king size bed and realize that the only room with a king size bad shares a glass door with the breakfast dining room. Thay gave us a diffrent room instead with 2 sprate bads though. Other than that, big and clean room, and very good value for money. "
