Crete Island hotels & accommodations

Avra is a great resort with great service but I would recommend it more for family trips. We went during the peak season in summer and the resort was filled with families and children. We were 2 couples and we did not really need the private pools in our bedrooms as we were out and about most of the time. The beach that Avra is on is wide, big and clean but not the w...

We came for 4 days just to relax, read a book and enjoy the sun.. I have to say that at first we were in shock of how nice the people and the stuff treated us! and than when we took a look a round it was so amazing! The hotel is isolated and have the best facilities with the best view! a private beach, multiple swimming pools, some are for adults only so no chance o...

Very relaxing stay especially after we obtained the mattress toppers from reception which made the very hard brds much more comfortable! There is not a lot to do in the area but a bus right outside the hotel takes you into Chania which is worth a visit. The food in the hotel was really good .

We came during the winter season so the hotel was relatively quiet and we had the full attention of all the staff present, who were really helpful from the outset. Not only did they sit down with us and provide us with suggestions on the places to visit, they also helped us to arrange all our transportation for the 2 days we were there. The restaurant's food was absolu...

The apartments are beautiful and very well equipped. Having breakfast made every morning is a great bonus. Elina and her staff are just perfect. the air conditioned rooms are haven from the August sun and the pool is big enough to swim properly. We had a great stay- there is lots to do nearby (water parks, golf, open air cinema etc) as well as many beaches but you do n...

Our family of four really enjoyed our visit to Crete and stay at the Aquila Atlantis Hotel. As four adults, we appreciated being close to the main square and restaurants. We were able to walk everywhere. The showers at this hotel were the best! The big breakfast was included and omelets were made to order. We wound definitely stay here again.

A lovely hotel in a perfect location just a short walk from the centre of town and close to a lovely stretch of good bars and restaurants. Well located for parking if you hire a car with street parking available and car parks close by. Very pleasant stay with friendly helpful staff and good facilities. Nice pool with both sun and shade, a small beach nearby and larger ...

the area is not the best to look at especially on the back of the hotel there were abondon bulidings. Next to the hotel there was a house with a pit bull and it didn't stop barking day and night the rooms need a serious renovations especially the bathrooms, our the toilet sit was broken from old age,it was nothing like the photos from the website. The good things its c...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We stayed in the executive suites which are just to the side of the main hotel. The hotel itself is far enough away from the main town to be peaceful, but near enough to walk to (15mins) for evening meals and entertainment. Whether you want to buzz of new town or the ambience of old town the hotel sits between the two. The hot...

It was a very nice stay with the very attentive staff that helped in any occurrence. The place is wonderful, the only downside is that it's uphill and if you go without a car it can be a long walk. The rooms are awesome and the views amazing. It has been a very good stay and I would certainly repeat

On arrival at this hotel we were told our room would not be available until the next day! We were transferred to another hotel, no where near the same standard and given a small, shabby, sub standard room the worst We have ever stayed in! It over looked a busy road that along with air conditioning not working made it impossible to sleep! The following day we were tran...

Fantastic staff, Sofia at the reception is really excellent. Hotel has very good buffet breakfast. Really nice garden with palm trees, parking private area, and is amazing view towards the mountains too. Only in the hotel you can hear anything from other rooms... which was disturbing. We got some discount by booking, and even more we got room update for free. So all to...

We spent a week at the Kydon and were wonderfully cared for. Their central location in Chania is a perfect location for visiting various sites and tours on Crete...and their buffet breakfasts are the best we encountered during our 4 weeks traveling in Greece! We can't say enough about the quality of the staff; their prompt and efficient responses to our emails, request...

We stayed two nights here and wished that we could have made it longer. The location in the charming old town area of Rethymno was exactly what a tourist would want of a romantic Cretan town. Less overrun than Chania, equally charming and accessible to beaches. The reception was kind and helpful, recommended great itineraries to nearby attractions and beautiful beaches...

The stay was great. The reception staff are a real asset to the business. They are helpful, competent knowledgeable and can not do enough to help. The hotel is beautifully clean, the cleanliness is faultless.Once again well done to the staff. We enjoyed the trips that we arranged through the hotel. I do not have one negative point to make about the hotel and would happily ...

For one night in Rethymno old town this was a very interesting property. We enjoyed a last night having travelled around western Crete. We had the small room which was adequate for one night. The larger rooms are more suitable for a longer stay. Really pleased we had this experience

Service was subpar and often unhelpful with many extra fees. When I picked a beach resort for a part of our vacation, I thought this place would be a nice retreat at a moderate price given that it's suppose to be a "4 star resort" but we were really disappointed and will never return. So many extra fees --5 euros per day to use the empty lounge chairs across their priv...

Hotel is located just 5 minutes (or less) walk away from Heraklion port and the main “market street”. Food options around the hotel are aplenty. Public buses (bus stop) is just a perpendicular corner from the hotel. My mom and I walked everywhere and it was fun. Staff was polite, helping us to brown bag our breakfast when we had to go out early to other parts of...

There were three of us traveling so we booked a triple room and were pleasantly surprised by the easy and swift check-in, friendly staff, and the size and space of the room itself. There was an extra bed in its own little area and the room as well as the hotel in general was clean, modern, and comfortable. The air conditioner unfortunately was a little on the slow side...

We had an amazing time on Chania thanks to Olga at the front desk! She was extremely helpful and had great recommendations for restaurants. Location of the hotel was great as well. Walking distance to the old port and from the bus station. Would definitely stay there again

New hotel with modern rooms and very comfy beds - clearly a step up from what you usually get in this price range. The owners are extremely nice and warm-hearted, so it felt a bit like staying at friends. Just one suggestion: The rooms could do with a bit more storage options (e.g. wardrobe). However, the fresh and airy room design made largely up for this. We will ...

An unforgettable holiday! The room (master suite) very cosy, super-comfortable and spacious and a large terrace with a fantastic view. Quality toiletries, fast wifi, a Hifi and a TV sets guarantee entertainment in the room and are especially important in winter, as the resort is open 12 months a year. Breakfast is entirely home-made and all the fruit, vegetables and eg...

Very good value with dinner and breakfast included. We never really do "all inclusive" or like to eat in the hotel, but we arrived at 8:45pm on a delayed ferry and were ushered downstairs to ensure we got to eat before dinner finished. Great service, walking distance to everything you need and they have a mini gym - enough for a creative workout!

We chose this hotel based on their review on booking. Although the rooms were nice, the tv was very old and the airconditioning never really got the room cool. To use the airconditioning you have to insert the room key which is also your front door key. So it becomes annoying if you lock the front door you have to turn off the airconditioning to unlock you door. The sh...
Cheap places to stay in Crete Island

Maria that co-owns it,was in the reception desk to help me with whatever I wanted to.She was very kind and because I arrived late in the evening for the check-in and I did the check-out earlier than I should have, she told me that I can come later if I have time to enjoy the pool, which I think that happens very rarely to hotels. For the staff that runs the hotel to be th...

Booked in a panic for a late night, and enjoyed the place so much I stayed another. The facilities served me well, the location was INCREDIBLE, and I enjoyed meeting my roommates. I stayed in the dorm, which opens directly on the street. We shared meals and drank at a table across the way. It was a very enjoyable stay.

set on the hillside overlooking the city and sea and its own little villages of shops, restaurants, it was great to relax, by the pool and recuperate. The staff was great and very helpful in every way, and as I had a hip problem at the time they put us in a unit close to the road which was spacious and great views, so thank you very much. Also, great wifi and satellit...

We had an awesome stay at Heliotrope. If you can, ask for the top studio as it has the best view but you have to climb lots of steps to get there! Big living area, balcony and room. Only downsides were no cold water during our stay and there never seems to be anyone around to check in or out, or ask for help especially if you don't have a cellphone to ring them. Dimitr...

We had an amazing time at Villa Diasselo! Banos the owner was spot on and helped with anything we needed. The apartments are a great size and very clean. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay, whether a group of friends like ourselves or a family or even solo. Excellent location also with a supermarket and car rental just around the corner.

We had a great stay at Revekka! The location was great. Just steps to the waterfront where there are restuarants and tavernas. The rooms themselves were spacious, clean, and airy. Our room was a double and it was enormous and very functional. Our little balcony had a peek-a-boo view of nearby mountains. We had an issue when we were checking in, as they overlooked our...

Emilia Apartment is not a luxyry holiday home, but we like to stay there over a week on late October. Everything was like we expected, price was ok, location was really good, staff was fine. And our studio was always clean when we came back in the afternoon from beaches or around. Balcony was big enough for two adults to have breakfast there or sit with bear or wine gl...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at faragi. Our huge room overlooked the beach and we slept with the doors open each night enjoying the sound of the ocean. The staff at faragi were extremely kind and helpful with great service and advice. Would highly recommend to someone looking for a few quiet days with the ability to do some great hikes and beach swims.

Despite not being quite what we expected, as the hotel is the village rather than being in a village, our 6 night stay turned out to be very enjoyable. Our room was clean, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the ambience of the place was outstanding. The pool was a great asset and the outside dining area under the wonderful fig (not olive) tree canopy trul...

I arrived off the Ferry at 6am expecting to drop off my bags, but I was greeted and taken to my room immediately. Imagine that after travelling all night! Nothing is any problem to the friendly owners of Pension Anna. Anna is there with helpful information and delicious Greek delights to share with us. The hotel is attractive and spotlessly clean, light and shining. ...

I cannot express enough how delightful was our stay at Eliros. It's perfectly located: close to beautiful Chania and more "busy" towns like Agia Marina and Platanias. You can get to any of them with a quick bus ride (the bus stop is located at the main street, a short walk from the hotel). If you have a car then you're in a perfect spot to visit the entire west part of...

Spacious rooms, cleaned on daily basis, well equipped kitchenete including toaster. The pool was nice with plenty of sun decks and umbrellas, never difficult to find a place. There is a little playground for smaller children we have used a lot. The restaurant in the hotel serves very good Greek meals. The only downside is beach in Maleme which is not realy suitable for...

The Eleni is a small family run apartments and you are made to feel part of the family - although the area, Analipsi, is quite quiet there are plenty of tavernas and the family have one across from the apartments called Zorbas, where the food is second only to the service. The apartments are very clean, a good size, quite traditional in style and about a 5 minute walk ...

Niki and Katherina made me feel at home and gave me a lot of tips about places to visit, and things to take into consideration before leaving for my daily excursions. One morning when Niki saw that I was leaving for a day at the beach with no water she gave a big bottle of it to take along with me. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable and had a little balcony wi...

The location couldn't be better. Right next to one of the best beaches on Crete. The rooms have the bare necessity but are cheap and clean. No problems, friendly staff and close to good restaurants. Go there and try to relax because that is what Crete is for.

On quieter back streets yet only short walk to Fort , restaurants and sites of interest. Family run, brothers both helpful and contacted me on booking via email with confirmation of booking with useful info on how to get to hotel. We taxied both ways to airport 12-15€ Small room and bathroom

The Ionia Suites should be proud of their whole staff team. They are all so friendly and helpful. The beds are comfy although the pillows could be just a bit better. The whole place is exceptionally clean - cleaned by yet more super friendly ladies. The breakfast is good although I would have liked more cooked and fruit options personally. I would definitely stay h...

We travelled through Crete and by far, Eli the receptionist was the best we've come by. She went ABOVE and beyond to make our stay special. Her knowledge of places to see and places to eat made our time in Crete perfect. Do not hesitate at all to visit Molos Bay and deal with Eli and if she's not there Despina is just as awesome. Both 5 star in the business!

It is 3 star hotel in very good location, near sea and middle of City. Rooms are bit small for 2 person but cozy and clean. Caffe maker and fridge and big LSD TV in room. Wifi was not good in my room. Breakfast was nice, warm and cold fdishes and staff is friendly. I will give 3 star, not 4 star.

You'd find it hard to have a bad time on this beautiful island, but Creta Blue made our stay completely unforgettable. We woke each morning to a hearty breakfast of breads, meats, cheese, and eggs; followed by an indulgent serving of fruit, Greek yogurt and honey. The rest of the day was spent pool-side, admiring the lush gardens and ocean view. Invigorated after a g...

It took me a while to be able to find this hotel from the bus station, it's a ctually a 10-15 min walk in a straight line, opposite the town center. It's horribly situated, nearly out of town and most people I asked had never heard of it apparently. I found the staff to be unhelpful, polite but not really caring or willing to assist more than the bare minimum. 3 euro...

Nestled down a quiet side street right next to the port is this little gem of a hotel. We were looked after with real care and attention by the staff and our room was fantastic, really quiet with all mod cons and a huge comfortable bed. Dinner was delicious - we decided to eat in as it was easy to sit outside in the little piazza. Breakfast the next morning was great t...

Really enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived. We had a bit of trouble finding a way to,the hotel but once there it was fine. Everything was very good about the hotel. It is located a short walk from the old town. It is in a busy city, so a bit noisey, with a produce market setting up at 5:30 each morning. The huge downside is parking. It was listed as having adequate parking. That meant that the public parking lot was a block away with a fee, hourly, or 24 hours. On Wednesday, the...

We spent 2 nights at Blue Beach in October 2012. It was beautiful weather, and the place was delightfully quiet. The staff and owner were friendly and helpful at all times, which contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. The room was more than adequate: clean, comfortable and quite well equipped. The tiny shower was the only drawback (although it is typical for smaller Gr...

It is a good place to relax, with really good dishes, and it is close to 2 beaches (3 min walk). Be prepared for no wifi in the rooms, only in public areas. Programs in the evening are good and quite loud.. :) overall it is a beautiful place to stay in Crete.

The staff particularly the restaurant staff made the stay very pleasant. The food is very geared towards the germans which we as australians found a bit bland which did not perturb us too much as we ate out a lot at local restaurants. The hotel was very centrally located and convenient to go anywhere on the island. All in all a great experience for a couple of australi...

I wish we could have stayed here for a week or more. We enjoyed every minute in and around the resort. Staff were friendly and more than helpful. Both pools were great and the location was just perfect. Close to the beach and many restaurants to have something to eat.

I personally thought Stalida was a dreadful place geared only towards tourism. Unfortunately I mustn't have done my research very well and we ended up there. The deluxe rooms were spacious and quiet even though the hotel itself was close to the main tourist road. The cost of the room was worth it for the space and facilities although I would have expected warmer shower...

The Rimondi is an absolutely fantastic hotel! It is in a renovated authentic building in the old venetian part of the city, yet the rooms are clean and light with all modern amenities. From the moment we arrived the staff (especially Helen) made us feel like we were staying with close friends, they were absolutely the best of anywhere we've stayed and if we're ever bac...

Well-located in a beautiful old Venetian villa steps away from the waterfront harbor of old town Chania, Casa Delfino was a perfect place to start out our visit to Crete. The rooms were unique and cozy, and the breakfast homey, set in the beautiful courtyard. The staff were friendly and very helpful!

Fantastic location amongst the shopping area, this hotel was perfect for us. The rooms were nice and spacious--we had a seating area separate from our bedroom. I paid extra for a balcony which was nice and the building has an elevator, which I'd heard is rare for Rethmyno due to the preservation of the Venetian architecture. The breakfasts were our best all trip--cakes...

The staff was friendly from the first glass of orange + pomegranate juice through the final goodbye. Their language competence was excellent and were open to talking with me in my (basic) Greek. The rooms were fine and an excellent value for the money. (I was there in the off-season.) And the beach is just across the (non-busy) street. The town is a short walk awa...

I booked this hotel with seasonal discount. However, all services such as drink bar are not included.Since the price of room was admended thus they offered you a room which far away from reception without any seaview .Old housing decoration and dark made you uncomfortable. The taste and choices of food in restaurant are fair. The location is not good. If you are the f...

well, its was not the very best hotel we stayed in during our vacation...they sell themselves as 5 star but that is debatable. The rooms are very dated and the bathrooms need serious refurb. the rooms are very much on the small side and not as luxurious as made out to be in the promotional materials, eg website etc, the beach is pebbly and not well maintained for a 5 star resort, for example do not expect your towels to be laid out for you or the beach to be litter picked. nice touches were complimentary fruit, juice, and bottled water round the pool and ...

Ambience, peace and quiet, friendliness of staff,a whole host of activities for every age group...feeling of privacy cos resort is so extensive.Beaches, pools,Sport facilities...something to cater for EVERYONE.uSincere thanks to Managers and wonderful staff

This place was absolutely fantastic. From the location, to the spacious room and that amazing balcony that overlooked the harbour and lighthouse. I absolutely fell in love with Chania and it will not be the last time I stay at this boutique hotel.

Super beautiful beaches, culture places and cities. The best is to rent a car and do a round trip by car.
