"I have zero complaints on the room, simply due to the great rate I was able to get it for last minute, compared to everywhere else. Do not expect or demand a 5 star hotel a budget. A few notes: I traveled alone, without a vehicle. The employee checking me in was very pleasant and informative, it was clear he knew what he was doing and enjoyed doing it. The bathroom looks very nice as if it were recently remodeled. Very impressed. It really stood out compared to the rest of the room, almost like I were in different hotels. The rest of the room was pretty standard of an older hotel, needing restorations and remodeling done- which looked like they were in the process of doing. I was on the fourth floor and checked out before midnight, so I'm not sure about overnight noise, but I did notice many of the room doors, including mine, had to be slammed shut. If I am in the area again, I'd stay here if the rate were comparable, but I wouldn't pay much more for the room I had as it was. "

Magnolia Hotel Downtown Dallas

"This was a great hotel and location. Really top notch. Having said that, the city of Dallas allows street racing virtually all night in front of this hotel. Our room overlooked the street. If we ever return, we will request a twentieth floor or above and facing away from the street. The receptionist said the city of Dallas is aware of the issue and sometimes block the road to prevent the racing. I would not stay here again unless I knew I would be immune from the road noise. It was literally like being at a speedway. Soooo, sooooo loud. We were 13th floor facing the road."

"I really enjoyed my stay here. During my recent trip to the Dallas area, out of all the hotels I stayed at booking through Agoda, it was the best. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was furnished with more modern furniture. Very clean and friendly staff. My only gripe was the elevator maintenance room on the second floor. The noise coming out of it was extremely loud. My room was close to the elevator and every time the elevator would be used for the entire building it would make this grinding noise. I went up to another floor to see if I could hear the elevator and the noise only was on the second floor. So if you get a room on the second floor and are a light sleeper ask them to change it until they fix it. "

More about Dallas (TX)

This iconic city in Texas has maintained a strong reputation for business and finance, serving as the home base for one of the country’s largest airline companies and many other Fortune 500 companies. The city is served by two major airports, the bigger one being Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, a massive airport located within walking distance of the city and serving several flights from all over the world.

Visitors will find Dallas unabashedly independent, serving up a fantastic selection of shopping, museum-hopping and late-night entertainment alongside the usual Texan confidence and outgoing spirit.

Accommodations in Dallas are spread across several downtown neighborhoods, and visitors are wise to consider where they'll be spending most of their time before committing to a particular hotel. This is a city that has staked its reputation on a 'bigger is better' approach to life, and hotels tend toward the large and luxurious.

Dallas may not be world-famous for its sightseeing, but it still has a variety of worthwhile sites. Among these is the Sixth Floor Museum, a particularly compelling museum that explores the facts and theories surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy, which took place in Dallas in 1963.

Uptown Dallas is where the city’s fashionable people go to have fun. The area is full of modern city high rises and chic dining places, as well as the majority of the trendy nightlife that isn’t found in Downtown Dallas. Of course downtown has its own appeal, especially for travelers who want to get a more classic feel for the city and explore the restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues that made Dallas what it is today. The best way to get a real feel for the city is to really explore these different neighborhoods.
