i WOULD CHOOSE THE BELLAIRE HOTEL ANYTIME OVER ANY OTHER HOTEL IN DURBAN,BREAKFAST AND FOOD IS DIVINE, COMFORT OF ROOMS ,HOSPITALITY OF STAFF IS EXCELLENT, VIEWS IS BEAUTIFUL, CLEANLINESS ES EXCELLENT,THE BED IS THE BEST, I HAD THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND RELAXED SLEEP. THANK YOU FOR THE EXCELLENT SERVICE STAFF OF BELAIRE SUITE

Hi, I had a fortune to visit Durban for a Business conference and I booked Hotel Pavilion through agoda. I was shocked to see the location, the clean hotel and comfortable rooms. I was now happy because what I paid was nothing against the services I got. I wish Hotel Pavilion best of luck for this future business. I would visit Durban very soon with my family and will ...

The hotel is in a lovely location, and in a wonderful city, maybe it is because i have a certain bias towards Durban, but it is certainly my favourite city in South Africa. I have found the staff to be very friendly and always willing to help. Safe location next to all the restaurants and pubs (oh yes!). The room i had occupied is a very spacious, beautiful and above a...

The staff is very friendly and helpful. You immediately receive a sense that you are a welcomed the minute you set foot in the hotel. The rooms are stylishly furnished and airy. The city view from the deluxe room balcony is one of the best city views a Durban hotel can offer.

I really loved the location, it changed my dbn visit for the first time in my life....... facilities was good.... I visited and called the hotel for an early check in which I was advised the hotel was fully booked, which is understandable. ...However the room was still not ready by 2:30..... What i did appreciate was being upgraded to executive room.... Another point t...

I'm telling it like it is, not biased at all. That place it's a dream. I really had a great time with hubby for our Valentines' get away. Clean, quiet and convenient. Loved the bed and the bedding not forgetting the towels.Next to everything. We got our money's worth. Thank you Coastlands Durban.

The Royal hotel in Durban is conveniently located in the center of the city. From the hotel, you can walk to the harbor. You can take a stroll at the square featuring the city hall. You can also take the people's mover bus to the major attractions throughout Durban. There is a business center where you can gain access to the internet. There are a couple of fine dining ...

This is by far one of the best hotels I've stayed in South Africa. THe service is great, the room is very new and big, with great equipments and definitely clean. The most notible thing on this hotel is its location- it is actually connected to the biggest shopping center in South Africa- the Gateway Mall (you exit the side entrance of the hotel, to enter gate 8, c...

This hotel is a great new addition to the Durban beachfront. Although it is not directly on the beach, it is only a 5-7min walk to the beach front. It is centrally located to all major highways, Florida Rd, and central Durban. Great hotel with friendly and welcoming staff, and modern, new amenities. Will definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at the City Lodge even though the Trainee wrongfully charged my card while i had already made the payment. The next time we travel to Durban again it will be our 1st hotel to book. We only struggled with food as the light meals on the menu were not appetising. But for a 3 star hotel it is the best. We will come back again very soon n the WiFi is sup...

We were warmly greeted upon our arrival to Hilton Hotel, Durban, South Africa. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and courteous at all times. Our room was absolutely beautiful and quite large with a gorgeous view of the Indian Ocean. The food was bountiful and diverse to meet our individual needs, and the restaurant staff were attentive to our every request. The Cl...

Magnificent views, beautifully furnished rooms with lovely bathroom. Bathroom includes large jacuzzi bath. For a five star establishment I did not like not being allowed to leave the hotel before my room and minibar was checked, even though a credit card authorisation was taken on check in. But I guess this is South Africa!

We were picked up by Stephen. He was our first impression of Africa. We explained to us the city, culture, language, and the list goes on. He provided smooth, safe and friendly transfer service. His service was impeccable. We can tell that he loves his job and that makes the difference. In addition, your F&B manager, Augustin, kindly spent time explaining to us the c...

I went to Durban for a conference (at the ICC Durban). I used my own funding to support this trip to South Africa, so to save money I stayed at the Albany Hotel instead of the conference hotel (Hilton). I am happy that I made the right choice. The hotel is within walking distance to ICC Durban, only 1/5 the cost of Hilton, and it comes with a nice breakfast buffet. ...

Simply, a fantastic hotel. My wife & I often stay in Durban on short breaks & have stayed @ many of the available hotels. However, this is now far & away our favourite. This is not just a place to lay your weary head, but an experience in itself. Very unusual but awesome decor. Great food & drink. Wonderful service, all finished of with a great, relaxing breakfast. We ...

WHAT STOOD OUT FOR ME:- How non-intrusive your staff is. They actually leave you alone to be at home yet they are always on hand to promptly assist. I LOVE THAT. Very few hotels get that right. PROS:- Cleanliness, tea/coffee, comfy bed and a good quiet environment for night's rest-just awesome. I was also impressed that everything in my room actually works ie applian...

My booking wasn't in in the system and was asked to move to another hotel but couldn't as it was 20 minutes away so I got a room eventually but the TV and kettle didn't work, so were replaced, there was no hairdryer but when asked I got one and when I eventually took a shower, realised it leaked water onto the bathroom floor. The WIFI signal is so weak, it keeps losin...

Gateway is the best shopping centre (many clothing shops etc)in South Africa and it is only 400 meters away. Five minutes in car to the beach and 15 minutes to downtown Durban. All in all very convinient if you have your own car and you do not mind that your not staying at the beach front. I woukld choose staying in Umhlanga anytime compared to staying in Durban

Myself and manager spent a night there after a hectic week of driving around the whole South Africa and it was really very nice. When we entered our room we had a sherry compliments from the B & B, and just relaxed. When we woke we woke up over looking the ocean which was extremely beautiful. It is safe, clean and comfortable. I would definitely use this B & B again wh...

Booked a king bedroom but was assigned a standard bedroom. The hotel charged up front like a budget accommodation. All other things are just ok, nothing is outstanding. I would give it a 3-star, not 4 as advertised. Hopefully, I won't be staying here again.

The visit to Essenwood House was much too brief! Paddy and John are fantastic, really fantastic hosts and they ensure that the establishment provides a good experience. I would recommend Essenwood House highly and I have already moved it to the top of my list of establishments in Durban.

we both enjoyed the stay very much. the rooms are very appealing and clean. has all the amenities one would need to be able to enjoy a restful stay. it is very central to many main locations and the host is extremely helpful in giving you directions.

We had an awesome stay at the hotel on 17 March. Clean spacious rooms. The fan and aircon didn't work and was brought to the hotels attention. Only fan was repaired. Was disappointing as Durban was scorching hot. The breakfast was scrumptious and the staff were great. Special mention must go to the chef on duty in the restaurant. She was lovely. The location was pri...

Only stayed one night. Booked a room for four and were given two rooms on arrival which was great. Building is old and quaint but wooded floors creak a lot. Only one cup and glass in each roof for four of us! Staff were friendly but it would appear that there is no one on site overnight. You have to arrive before 5 or you pay a fine if arriving before 6. No late arriva...

Really great location, especially for younger visitors to Durban, for easy walking access to restaurants and bars all around. I felt fine walking until late because there were so many other people out and about. The unofficial parking guards may tail you a bit, thinking you are going to your car when you walk back to the hotel, but they're just looking for their tips...

I enjoyed my stay. The room was large and had everything I needed. The included breakfast was wonderful (more than I should have eaten but it was so good). The only problem I had is that it is very much our of the way. There is no public transport near this property and every taxi driver I hired had difficulty finding it. It is on a small street that is not well trave...

Great. We were expected and service was friendly and efficient. Our group numbers had changed so we needed a different room configuration to the booking and this was sorted out easily. The security guard was efficient in opening and closing the gate at the busy entrance and assisted ably with parking. The swimming pools were great fun for the kids. Finally, the full bu...

makaranga is most definitely on our list of places to go back to. we loved our brief stay at your hotel, everything exceeded our expectations and we would definately recommend this hotel to others. we sent our kids out for a quick peek about while we ordered breakfast, we had to call them back after not returning for more than 15 minutes. they had plenty to chat about ...

This hotel is highly recommended for both couples and families with children as it is suitably located [close to the largest shopping mall in Durban and 5 minutes from beautiful beaches]. Enjoyed my stay and all the people I was with young and old.do not worry if you do not know Durban the manager will tell you everything you want to know all places of interests ,dining places/restaurants to suit all the taste buds.We were driving but I saw the receptionist organizing a cab for one client. It is safe area especially for those who would want to have early...

Vincent is such an able and supportive host and he rallies his team magnificently. I've stayed in many BnB's in Durban and this one has the best breakfast by far. The rooms are big and very well furnished and the price reasonable. Good wifi. The only negative is the poor tv channel choice and poor reception in the rooms. Disappointing as the rest is si good.

There was a confusion with the payment. When booking in I was informed that the payment had not been made, so paid using the credit card. Once I confirmed that the initial payment to you had been made, I returned to the reception desk. The system still did not show the intial payment made to you "EGODA". The supervisor came out highlighted that EGODA will be receiving ...

However I would never book through Agoda again. What a useless means of a booking system. No help when you need it. Always closed. Then they call you from Hong Kong and Singapore and cannot talk propper English. Keep asking the same question and nothing to assist the situation. Would never book through Agoda again!!!

From the moment we booked until we checked out we received a tailor made customer service experience. The room was as exceptional if not better than what we saw on the internet. My fiance and I were looking to find faults but couldn't. The breakfast was delicious, we also made use of their steam room and jacuzzi both were lovely. A big thank you to the staff from the ...

I booked this guesthouse for my brother very short notice and the feedback he gave me was very positive. Staff super friendly and the rooms clean and very comfortable. On his travels back he will def try and book a room with the Grange again. He felt very well taken care of.

We will definitely be returning to this BnB on our next trip to Durban. From the yummy delicious breakfast every morning to the helpful and lovely staff and owner. Our room was modern and equipped with everything one could need and it when it came to hygiene the room was serviced every day. We could come and go as we please, without any hassle , the overall experience ...

The lodge is a hidden unexpected gem in close proximity to malls and highways. We truly enjoyed our stay and felt welcome from the minute we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the carafe of sherry. The owner and staff went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. The scrambled eggs were the best we've had! The garden is lovely and create a tranquility...

The location is in a quiet neighborhood yet close to whatever you would need in walking distance. A short taxi ride will take you almost anywhere in Durban. The hosts are friendly and helpful. This is a place with many repeat clients of which i will become another.

Would stay here again. I am usually a fussy guest and am particular about cleanliness. The apartment was well maintained and serviced daily. Found it a bit too small for 2 young kids but adequate given we only stayed 2 nights. Only problem was that an entire panel of the shower door was missing - would have rated higher if not for this.

The staff was some of the best i have experienced in south africa. From the desk staff to cleaning staff to management they were superb. The dinner was excellent showcasing great durban cuisine and the breakfast and high tea were amazing. The views from the room were phenomenal and the access to the beach was great

The value cannot be beat. The breakfast was incredible each day. The staff was always ready and able to help, whatever your need. A quick walk to the best restaurants in the area or the beach. I will never stay anywhere else when visiting Durban. We are now lifelong guests of Sandals.

Beautiful b&b, wonderful large room (ground floor) with one of the best showers I've ever encountered! Open the doors onto a covered patio, and take a short walk down to a pretty much private beach. Breakfast was a mixed affair, plenty of choice but pretty weak service, with staff clustered in the kitchen talking amongst themselves. Cappuccino machine not the best I'...

Our stay at Sanchia was fantastic. Me and my family loved it, we were a group of 9 and nothing was too much trouble for the staff excellent customer service. From driving onto the hotel grounds to departing the service of the BH was impeccable. Reception seem exceptional. The valet parking of the vehicle a pleasure. Breakfast buffet as expected but special requests...

We stayed there during our tour of Kwa Zulu Natal. We wanted somewhere safe near , but not in, Durban. We spotted this hotel on Agoda and it seemed to fit, so we booked it. Real reviews for hotels
I am a Cape Tonian & currently staying in Gauteng, i must admit for the short periods of time i have been in Durban, i considered relocating there.
Historical buildings are not well kept, the hotels and apartments around South beach all look dilapidated.
Durban is good for all ages and cultures. There are a lot of places to go or just to relax at the beach.
City with beautiful beaches, but centre of town is a mess and very dangerous with lots op young children just wlking around and doimg nothing.
Easy to get around without own transport - easy walking distance to all beachfront activities, uShaka World, restaurants, Moses Mabida stadium, etc.
Good attractions - Ushaka Marine World, Mangrove swamps. nice malls for shoppers. City centre very busy and bustling, though museum and art gallery in city centre worth a visit
OVERALL, DURBAN HAS FANTASTIC WEATHER AND A BEAUTIFUL BEACH LIFE. JUST AN ENERGY ABOUT IT WHEN IT COMES TO THE BEACH.
Durban is disgusting and dirty thic city has nothing on Cape Town the Anc should take tips from the DA how to run a city
this city has something for everyone no matter what age, religion, race, social standing - its probably the most underrated city in south Africa.
Visit Ushaka Marine world when in Durban. Beaches are lovely with hot Indian Ocean water and free from sharks and other dangerous marine creatures.
we truly loved the city, its clean at the north & south beach and most of the areas. Down town seems to be a bit unsafe, but we never had any problems.
the city is a nice travellers destination. every good beaches and nice places to see. funny city. but city needs to step up their game when it comes to house keeping.
THIS IS THE CITY TO PARTY. The people are friendly, fun, crazy, inviting. All they want to do is have a good time and dance.
A place with a great deal of variety outside and inside activities sport sightseeing entertainment and relaxing great food fantastic beaches and great views.
CITY IS GOOD FOR BUSINESS PEOPLE, LOTS OF INDEPENDENT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, BEAUTIFUL BEACHES AND RESTAURANTS, PUBS AND FUN ACTIVITES
Ricsha Bus Tour and Ushaka Marine a must do. As well as Moses Mabida Stadium and the sky car.. beautiful and clean beaches.
Lovely place to visit with great weather and lovely entertainment. Sports is available and sight seeing places are also available.
Easily accessible by car not far like Cape Town. The weather is also nice and warm. There is lot of fun for the whole family.
If I have to relocate and I m ask to choose the city, it will definitely be Durban. I t has the second biggest mall in SA.
You need to have transport to move around Durban for all the site seeing. There is a lot to see and to do.
A cosmopolitan city with a diverse ethnic and cultural background, converging into a unique lifestyle.
The best place in the world to go for a morning stroll, cycle or jog. A golden mile to showcase to the world.
ITS FABULOUS! THE BEACHES ARE CLEAN WITH AMPLE PARKING SPACE, THE HARBOUR AND CRUISES, THERE IS LOTS OF SOPHISICATED NIGHTLIFE ACITIVY, LOTS OF MALLS AND SHOPS FOR SHOPPING.
If you like the holiday atmosphere of lots of people around enjoying themselves, then Durban is the place.
Durban city has a lot to offer. The beaches are very close to the city. The people of Durban are friendly and always willing to assist visitors of the great city.
Best for families with small children; great marine park, good beachside promenade, great beach (good for paddling or for surfing but not good for swimming.
Travel light and shop till you drop. Fairly good prices. Ushaka marine world and the Moses Mahbida stadium are places to visit.
There is a wide variety of activities for families on the beach front although the rest of Durban appeared dirty and crowded.
Durban is a very attractive city with the best weather during Winter. The tourist attractions are wonderful and the harbour with the boat rides is something special.
It is a great city, with lots of attractions, nice clean beaches and the Gateway is excellent for shopping.
