Fort Lauderdale is a nice city where people can enjoy the beautiful beaches, canals with boats , you can feel very relaxed in the city.
Las Olas Blvd has the best Italian restaurant: Caffe Europa. It's fine dining but in a friendly casual atmosphere.
The service can only be described as perfection, and the food is so good I am already planning another trip just to eat there again.
Watch out for a resturannt on the beach that is handing out %10 food discounts. Once the bill arrived it was not honored.
This was a classic bait and switch. Since we got a two for on DRINK we were not allowed to use the coupon. This was never told to us and the card is very vague at best.
I went on a small tour with a local, and she showed me around town which was awesome. It's really easy to feel like a local in Ft.
Lauderdale, because people I found are really friendly and open. Thanks for the tour btw Carol Ann ;) We found Fort Lauderale very friendly, open and in good spirit.
There is not much on offer for a tourist in Fort Lauderdale apart from a disorganised public transport system and the beach.
Lots of big boats and fast cars and people who are more interested in extracting your tourist dollar. We were only there because we were embarking for a cruise from Port Everglades otherwise there was nothing much to see or do and the service people including taxi drivers were not really sincere or customer oriented. If you don't have a car, forget about visiting Florida as a whole.
