Discover the neighborhoods of Foshan

Foshan is a modern, industrial Chinese city that boasts thousands of years of history. The home of Chinese martial arts, ceramic arts, and Cantonese operas, the city is set 20 kilometers from Guangzhou on the Pearl River. The distance from its neighboring city is ideal for travelers who will utilize new Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport before taking a bus or the metro to reach Foshan.

Mixing industry with tourism, Foshan has plenty to offer both the leisure and the business traveler. The city center is truly an ideal place to stay with a wide range of accommodation and access to shopping and attractions. Plazas and large shopping malls thrive in the Zumiao Commercial Street area. Those looking for local souvenirs will find all sorts of local handicrafts here. Local delicacies can be enjoyed at a number of popular restaurants, and teahouses, pubs, and cafes are aplenty. There are a number of sites to visit that explore the history and culture of the city, including the pottery-making village of Taoci Town, Ancestral Temple, and the centuries-old Shiwan’s Nanfeng Ancient Furnace. In between shopping expeditions and sightseeing tours, a stop in one of Foshan’s many parks can be a refreshing endeavor. The scenic Zhongshan Park and Liangyuan Park as well as the family-friendly Leigang Park are excellent selections for a visit.
