More about Frankfurt am Main

Frankfurt is truly a city of contrasts. Monolithic skyscrapers sit beside traditional half-timbered houses and centuries-old cathedrals. And, though many remnants of Frankfurt's past remain, the city is one of the chief financial and business centers of Europe. As such, it's just as popular a destination for business as it is for tourism, and the high standard of services and technology offered at Frankfurt hotels reflects this. Frankfurt am Main International Airport is the gateway into the city, so hotels near Frankfurt Airport are always close to full capacity, as are hotels in Bahnhofsviertel, where Frankfurt train station is located.

Frankfurt, like many European cities, is connected by a vast subway network that is both efficient and easy to navigate. Trains provide easy access to historical areas such as Romerberg with its gorgeous old buildings from the 14th and 15th centuries, and the area of Museumsufer where the Museum of Regional Historic Art and Culture, the German Archietecture Museum, and the Jewish Museum can be found.

Winding through the center of Frankfurt is the beautiful Main River. One of the bigger tributaries of the Rhine, Main River is flanked by wide pathways and green spaces where visitors can enjoy a brisk walk and take in some of Frankfurt's best scenery.
