The old port city of Fuzhou today serves as the capital of the Fujian Province in China. It is a well-rounded destination that provides both natural and manmade sights. The city is also a major center for light industry and has factories for Nike, Adidas, and Reebok. About an hour from town, Fuzhou Changle International Airport
serves as the gateway for travelers coming from afar.
Set on the Min River, the city has access to mountains, waterfalls, and sandy beaches that are adorned with cultural and historical sights. Gu Mountain, Baiyun Mountain, and Wu Mountain are three areas that attract many travelers with unique experiences such as tea in a cave, a visit to a Taoist temple that houses archives written in monk’s blood, and incredible city views. The historic district is known as Three Lanes and Seven Alleys and includes more than 200 ancient residences. More history can be discovered at the museum of Hualin Temple. For leisure, there would be no better escape than a trip to one of the popular hot springs the city is famous for. Relaxing in Wuyi Square
or visiting West Lake Park also makes for a laidback day with rewarding opportunities.
