Remember Euro will not be accepted in many places make sure you exchange your money at the Airport before exploring .
The City has a lot of historical site to offer and it is very diverse population.
a city to give you the understanding of how a country without heavy industries, manufacturing goods and pin sophisticated commerce can survive under severy restrictive condirptiis,,,m
Geneva has a ver realxing place but if you ar elooking for a city that has mroe to offer Geneva isn't that much like most touristly spots, like Paris or Prague
This is a fantastic city. Its natural beauty is unparalleled and memorable. City is clean and fresh.
It was our first time i love geneva and the friendly neighborhood who was helpful to tell us where to go i will definitely come back after saving money.
Beautiful city, unfortunately we did not get to see the Jet d'Eau for all 3 days because of the strong winds.
People are pretty helpful when you approach them though some immigrants who work there do not necessary speak English.
Beautiful and reasonably clean city. Tourist will be given free tickets for local transportation by bus or tram which is very convenient.
In general, train service in Switzerland is reliable and comfortable, but expensive. However, if you stay in Geneve, the hotel would give you a free pass for public transport during your stay.
This kind of service should be replicated in Tokyo.
Geneva is not for tourism. Way too expensive. Population very rigid, yet ramping poverty city is slowly declining soon not to being safe if poverty settles in
Geneva is clearly a busy metropolis-type city. You will find a old classic town that is worth taking a day-trip.
UN and Red Cross are two spots you cannot miss. However, shopping is not recommended because everything is expensive - I mean all are even more expensive than in Japan or USA. One more thing: be careful on your belongings here. A thief steals my laptop bag with my laptop, tablets, cell phones, money, etc all gone. I eventually retrieve my bag when someone finds it in Lake Geneva in Lausanne.
Lake area, Patek Philippe Museum, Olympic Museum in Lausanne, walking trail to Chillon Castle from Montreux are highly recommended.
We went for the Fete de Geneve in August so saw the best of Geneva. The Botanical Gardens are lovely.
Restaurants were good but very expensive! If you want a steak, you can't beat the Cafe de Paris. Don't forget to also have fondue and raclettes!
A centre of international organizations. There're a lot of good museums and watch shops. Excellent connection of buss-trains.
Tourist friendly, english speaking. Convenient public transport Tourist transport card is very useful
Great city. Just the right size for visitors to see many attractions. Great shopping and cultural interests.
A good holiday. Some shops can be expensive, so its best to compare prices.
Geneva is an amazing city... if you're lucky and visit Geneva in Autumn/Winter pray for no fog around the lake - although the atmosphere is more mystical, the whole view is lost - anyway.
If you're on a city break or simply on a stopover please, please take some time and go to the old city area of Geneva, wander around the small streets and enjoy the friendly Swiss hospitality. Near the Cartier shop is a brewery where you can try homemade beers, while the Kempinski Hotel offers an amazing 'rooftop' bar and a (very expensive) nightclub, which however is still worth visiting.
We spent 4 days in Geneva and it was a very enjoyable experience. We visited one of the casinos near the airport but not impressed.
We enjoyed walks throughout old town, meals in many different restaurants and walking by Lake Geneva. We arrived by High Speed Train from London/Paris and quickly learned the city transportation structure of Trams,Trains, Buses and Cabs.Would love to go back for an extended stay.
I have only a 2 nights stay in Geneva thus I could only do shopping and no access to Lake Geneva but I expect it should be a good outdoor activities.
Will re-visit Geneva in future.
Nothing much to see here. Just few old buildings & that's about it. Most interesting will be getting on an excursion to Mont Blanc & Mar de Glace (glacier) which is in France & 1 hour from here.
Amazing view here.
excellent city with lake view. shopping & restaurant easy to find.. and good for history education for children.
clean, diverse, friendly, great transportation system. We especially appreciated the free transportation offered to tourists.
Very impressed with punctuality of transportation. Love boat on Lake Leman. Enjoyed proximity to France.
Check the hours of operation for everything. Most things closed Sundays and most restaurants closed during afternoon hours till 7pm.
Geneva is a very international city. As an example the television had 80 channels from probably 20-30 different countries around the world.
Geneva is a manageable city - free transport with most hotels plenty of bars and restaurants. Geneva does not stay open late - so think more about a nice evening meal with friends.
Have a blonde beer in the Brasseurs pub opposite train station to start your evening.
Places which I find it good is for sightseeing is Lake Geneva. For shopping is Molard. For Is around Navigation, Alpes, Monthoux & City Centre at Old Town.
The public transport bus & tram is very convenient and well maintained.
Geneva is really a nice friendly place with all its green parts and eco-system, but shopping is very much expensive.
Same products, same brand is cheaper in other countries. Also there is a lot of difficulties for muslim people and muslim tourists there, no halaal food. Also dogs everywhere even in cafetaria, buses, lifts, trams, trains etc. Also i have been victims of a fake police control officer who wanted to drag me along at Migro found on Eaux vives street. She put me in a small cubic room pretending to check my receipt etc, wow, really a dead city.
A good stopover place if you would want to relax in between your journey. However things can be really expensive, especially food.
I loved the cleanliness of the city, the diverse cultures and the easy access from my Hotel. We walked a lot and enjoyed the beauty of the old buildins and Lake Geneva which is the main attractions.
We felf very safe and at no stage felt intimidated. Drinks in bars is generally expensive and if you want to shop definitely visit in July for the summer sales. If you love watches, there is something for everyone and you can find a watch shop on every corner.
