The one thing however that stood out for me as a negative is that the Fancourt advert as shown on the tv channel is not representative of the demographic of South Africa at all. It features only white people in the advert. This to us was disturbing

It was a last minute booking, the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is little far from N2, but The stay was perfect for us. The rooms were spacious and clean. We loved the breakfast, with so many varieties... Best stay in our trip to the Garden route. I would definitely stay there again and recommend for everyone.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is near the centre of George and beautifully laid out; but by far the best aspect is the hospitality offered by the owner and the chef. The care they take with guests is exemplary. I had a wonderful stay there and would recommend it highly to all travellers.

Do not expect more than what you pay for......houses are close to each other but neighbours were great and everything did quiet down at 22h00 at night. We had nice braai almost every night and the cottage and braai eare were cleaned every day. Althouw not close to the sea it is in a reachable distance to everything in the Garden route..........definately good vallue ...

If there is one thing I can complement, It is definitely the staff members. They are very helpful and friendly. They always try to assist. From the reception, to the bar, the security and the porters. I will definitely only come back for your staff service. There must be something you do right with your staff.

Calm, good environment and village feel. Good place for stay. The breakfast is good and enjoyable.

We really enjoyed our stay in the self-catering Sugarbird accommodation. Beautiful bedroom + kitchen/living room space. Rene is a superb host. Location is good, nice neighbourhood, close to restaurants and grocery stores. George is a good location to explore the local sights

We stayed overnight here on our way from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. Check in was very fast and staff were friendly. We found the a/c in one of our rooms was on full blast and the room v cold. I had a great experience at this place. The room was very clean and the owner was kind. Will be coming back if I visit George again!

The guest house was more then my husband and I expected we know George is cold but they had electric blanks and fan heaters. The owner would check up on us once a day and was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

When I asked about the air-condition which took so long to warm, because it was very cold in George, we were not only given immediate attention, but was upgraded to a luxury suite. The staff especially the Reception Management were fantastic they were helpful, friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Thank you George Protea Hotel!

The good stuff: the staff were fantastic. I asked where to have my nails and hair done and they phoned and booked for me, and arranged a driver. I asked where to purchase certain items and they found out or advised me where to go. Negatives: the water from the pipes was brown for the first two days.

This B&B is just off the N2 in George. This location is very close to a good selection of takeaway food outlets and restaurants. The Turkish theme restaurant had food other than Turkish. The food and the wine menu was good. I would stay at this B&B again.

Definitely the place to go if visiting George. Will recommend it, 5*!

Tamaryn is a wonderful hostess. The room was great and THE breakfast was wonderful.

All I can say is, one needs more time at the B&B to fully enjoy the facilities. Superb.

What a joy to stay at this place. Was great to have a fully equipped kitchen with a spacious living room and separate bedroom. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our stay very much. Would stay again if ever in the area.

The room was very spacious and clean. The atmosphere in the guesthouse was great, we felt like home. I will never forget the smell of the fresh bread, which was baked by the lady-who is owner of the guesthouse, and served for the breakfast. After such great breakfast-almost everything was home made, we enjoyed our time in a beautiful garden. I definitely recommend this...

Room is next to smoking area. This caused smoke to filter into room as room is in corner of this area and the door has large gaps. A lady also came and sat here to smoke at about 6 on Friday morning while chatting on phone. I would suggest that people that are smokers are booked into this room and not non-smokers.
