Chateau Beachside Resort
Surfers Paradise,Gold Coast - View on map
"Chateau is nto a 5 stars hotel, but definitely a hidden jewel in Gold Coast which have given us a lot of surprises. The hotel is cleam & simple enough to meet your daily requirements. Nothing can beat a super seaview room sitting right infront of the beach, which makes me relax at night & eager to wake up next morning enjoying the lovely seaview, listening to the waves & feeling the sea breeze. The location is super. Famous Surfer Paradise is right infront the moment you step out. LV, Rolex, etc. are located next to it. Famous nightlife Orchard Avenue is sitting right behind. 5 mins walk to major shopping center Centro with varieties of restaurants & bars. Supermarket is 5 mins walk as well. Beachside night market on every Wed, Fri & Sun is right infront. All major city attractions like Skypoint, Infinity, Jetboat, Ripley, 7D cinemas are all locating nearby. Bus access is 2 block behind. All these show how Chateau is strategically located. The self-claimed best buffet breakfast is not up to the standard, but the 2 cafes across the road are well aclaimed for their food quality & coffees. The most important is all these come with a reasonable price. I won't say is chear, btu with all these features, what else to complain. "

The Star Grand at The Star Gold Coast
Broadbeach,Gold Coast - View on map
"The rooms at Jupiters Casino are as I would expect from a 5-star casino, so I won't comment much on that. Staff were helpful when asked questions. Most of the property is undergoing renovations at the moment because the casino has been there for a while and is due for an upgrade, so if you are staying just be prepared that there may be some noise in certain areas and not all restaurants or areas will be open. Having said that I really enjoyed my stay, the outdoor heated pool and surrounding area was beautiful. The casino floor pretty much looks like any other casino and if you are a gambler you'll find all the usual games available. The location of the casino and hotel is great... or maybe I should say... it will be great when jupiters and the rest of the gold coast has finished renovations. Currently the casino is located on its own little island. This isn't so much of a problem because you can take the mono rail over to broadbeach... if it wasn't for the fact that the monorail is also undergoing renovations. The casino is however a very short walk (just across the road in fact) from the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. Great for shopping and going to the cinemas and outdoor dining.... except that Pacific fair at the moment is udnergoing a massive renovation which includes the cinemas. Once renovations are done all over the gold coast and in the casino I have no doubt that this will be an excellent place to visit again."

Woodroffe Hotel
Southport,Gold Coast - View on map
"Pros: - Close to so many Gold Coast attractions and shopping centres via car (approx. 15 mins away from the theme parks and malls) - New hotel so it was clean and tidy - The male receptionists were friendly and helpful - After hour calls were picked up quickly and action was done to resolve issues promptly - Room was brightly lit from big window - Bed and towels were clean - Carpet was soft - Air con worked well - Shower head produced hot water fast - Many body towels, floor towels and hand towels were provided - Ample street car parking nearby Cons: - WiFi is very slow - No slippers provided (not a big issue but could prevent possible stains on carpet and maintain cleanliness) - Blanket was quite thin - No pools/gym - Shower glass isn't wide so the water flows onto bathroom tiles - Reception desk isn't available after hours - Cleaning service doesn't run on Sundays and Public Holidays - Secure underground car parking is $20/night and is very tight-spaced"

"We live local and was looking for a mini break. We got the best deal with Seaworld Resort. Beautiful location, great pools and grounds, exceptional food (and not over priced) plus rooms fresh and modern. I know this sounds like an ad out of a Virgin magazine but we where all super impressed."

Novotel Surfers Paradise
Surfers Paradise,Gold Coast - View on map
"One of the best hotels during my OZ trip. Had the Resort Room which overlooks the city (and construction) with a bit of the sea view. Room itself is spacious with lots of storage, full length mirror and room to move around. 5 mins walk to the beach, and round the corner is Cavill Ave where cafes and restaurants open late. Bus from Nerang Train Station stops a block away (less than 3 mins walk), and bus to Sea World is diagonally opposite hotel (or opposite Hard Rock Cafe which is next to the hotel). Has a shopping complex adjacent to hotel. About 10 minutes walk to the night market along the beach. Check in and check out was a breeze even though there was a crowd. Concierge was very helpful pointing out places to eat and relevant bus stops. Restaurant food and service is extremely good too - definitely must try especially their seafood platter and chips. Will stay here again the next time I'm in Gold Coast."

"This was a great place to stay in Gold Coast. The check in & check out were a breeze: very efficient! People at desk very helpful, security was very good & place was spacious & clean ( first time I was surprised the actual rooms were bigger than they looked in the pictures ) ! The mini apartment is well kept, better than the elevator or the corridor. Garage was secure & very handy. The beach is just a short walk distant. "

"There are tonnes of Hotels in Gold Coast, but why GT Gold Coast? Reasons are simple: its very Clean and organize! Its very welcoming by having unlimited Ice tea and Fresh lemonade at the Concierge. Very little detail set in this hotel has been very thoughtful and humorous. Kat, the lady at the Concierge is very helpful and made all of our last minute arrangements at Gold coast. Thumbs up for her ;) Room cleaner takes alot of effort in cleaning and is concern if your room needs cleaning as she noticed that we do not want to be disturb for 2 straight days. The room Tv is big, LG 42 or 46 inches. Ironing board, 2 umbrellas, stylish bathrobe etc provided. The only Cons is the toilet basin: very difficult to use as its too small and impractical eventhough its designer's style. But i love the shower area eventhough theres no door to prevent water from splashing out. This is the only hotel stay that i bath everyday and even twice a day! No coffee provided, only tea bags. Hotel is 1 block away from Beach. 5-6 min walk from Convenience Store and all the restaurants and cafes. Well heck all the dining out! U should try the Hotel restaurants "Stingray" has great food! I tried bbq chicken pizza and Hotdog with fries. Both are very tasty, buffalo wings you can forget about it.. "Bazzar" restaurant breakfast closes very early and punctual! till 10.30am. We were told last call for food at 10.30am and within 2 mins most of the food has been cleared?!! The non-eurosian looking lady at the omelette section is the 1st person i encountered unpleasant thrgout my aussie holiday so far. Poor attitude. She just doesnt fit right in Aussie culture where people are mostly friendly, welcoming. Generally a MUST STAY in gold coast! You wont regret."

More about Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is a popular destination, not only for foreign tourists, but for Australians as well. The 20-mile stretch of sand offers high fashion, pleasurable activities and attractions, and more than 30 great beaches.

Surfers Paradise is certainly one of the city’s greatest draws. It’s pretty much easy living here with budget accommodation hosting visitors for lazy days on the beach and wild nights on the dance floor. Student, surfers, and backpackers are the ones ideally catered to by this area.

A classier option to Surfer’s Paradise would be Broadbeach. This area offers a more mature night scene with restaurants, bars, and casinos offering a more mass appeal. A step up from here would be Burleigh Heads. This area boasts one of the most popular beaches on the Gold Coast as well as luxury resorts and entertainment facilities.

The family-friendly side to the city can be found amongst the several theme parks. Sea World graces the city center, and Warner Bros Movie World, Dream World, and Australian Outback Spectacular are more favorites visitors can enjoy.

Visitors to the region will be welcomed via Gold Coast Airport. A Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle can help get new arrivals to their hotel, and public transport options are excellent in central districts.
