More about Grampians

Grampians National Park is a wilderness lover’s retreat in western Victoria. The Grampians form the western extremity of the Great Diving Range and put on a spectacular display from both near and far. The only town here is Hall’s Gap, and it serves as the main access point. The village of Dunkeld also serves as an alternative entry point.

The abundance of wildlife found in the Grampians make for exciting times, and popular hiking and camping areas like Jimmy Creek Campground and Chimney Pots Hiking Trail are usually crawling with visitors. Kangaroos come to feed in the park, and it won’t be a surprise if you find a koala or two in the trees. Emus also make an appearance in the areas around Hall’s Gap. To capture views of the city and its incredible surroundings, several lookouts provide excellent vantage points. These include Rieds Lookout, Boroka Lookout, and the Balconies Lookout. Trekking the land introduces the adventurous traveler to more flora and fauna as well as natural beauties such as Mackenzies Falls and Silverband Falls. Exploring the history and culture of the area also makes for a captivating experience, and many sites that contain rock art are found here.

Be sure to check out the interactive map of Grampians National Park for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
