Leeden Hotel
Tianhe District-Zhujiang New Town,Guangzhou - View on map
"All the better Guangzhou hotels double their rates and more during the CantonFair. I have the advantage of being able to avoid those dates. The Leeden is a relatively new hotel in the newest (New Town) section of Gouangzhou. You can visit your rich friends at five star hotel in a short for a third of what they are paying. And you get four stars, plus a full sized indoor pool, workout facilities, a good buffet breakfast, and unusual in China, fast elevator service."

Hilton Guangzhou Tianhe
Tianhe District -Teemall / East Railway Station,Guangzhou - View on map
"Close proximity to Guangzhou East Train station was the main reason for choosing this hotel as we came up from Hong Kong on train, taxi only costs ¥11 to hotel. There's a free shuttle bus but needs 30min advanced booking so easier to take a Taxi, otherwise it's a 15min walk. Facilities wise more or less the same for a 5 stars chain hotel. Didn't eat at the restaurant or use the gym or spa but they look nice enough. Check in staff was very kind to upgrade for a deluxe room since I was travelling with my father to visit relatives in Guangzhou. The staff gave us a bigger room in case we want to invite relatives up to the room which we never asked for. My experience with 5 stars hotels in Guangzhou is that if you are a member of their loyalty programme they usually will give you a nice room. It happened with Hilton, Hilton Double Tree and Crown Plaza. "

Langham Place Guangzhou
Pazhou Exhibition Center Area,Guangzhou - View on map
"I like to try luxury hotels in different cities I travel to, and we were going to Guangzhou so I thought we'd try this Langham. The hotel is design-y in terms of the architecture and the interior design, our room on the 13th floor was spacious and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable and I loved it. Overall I think it was worth the money, however, there were a few downsides. Location is a bit off. It's not difficult to get a taxi when using a taxi app, but it is a bit far so once you are at the hotel you probably don't want to venture out to town. When taking a shower, the drain of our shower was blocked, although after I mentioned to the hotel staff they had it fixed that day, this kind of situation should not happen in a five star hotel. There was a bath next to the shower, but there was no bath salt. Another thing about the hotel is, the hotel pool policy required people to wear a swimming cap in order to enter the pool to have a swim. I witnessed a few hotel guests spending hundreds of RMB just paying for swimming caps and trunks in order to have a quick swim. We also tried the hotel seafood buffet, 238 RMB per person for hotel guests with service fee included. I think the food was good quality and wasn't bad to spend that money to have a meal there. Breakfast was just so so: pastries were not great and limited, coffee was filter coffee which wasn't even hot. I would say it was not up to a five star hotel standard breakfast. "

Pullman Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Hotel
Baiyun International Airport Area,Guangzhou - View on map
"I stayed at Pullman Hotel in Guangzhou when I was traveling from Urumqi to Zhanjiang, and this hotel was a perfect place to stay for me because I was supposed to be on the plane the next day.The hotel is beautiful and modern, I specially liked the bathroom in my room, it was with a glass wall and you could see it from outside, but of course there was a curtain. There was one thing that I didn't like very much: the hotel doesn't have any shops where you can by drinks and snacks, so in the evening I had to go to the airport to get all that. Another thing is that I wanted to use the swimming pool at the hotel and I was told that I had to pay for it which I thought was inappropriate because I already paid to stay at the 5 star hotel to enjoy all thinga that I cannot find in 3 or 4 star hotels. And here I was disappointed. But my overall experience was wonderful and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. "

Oakwood Premier Guangzhou
Tianhe District -Teemall / East Railway Station,Guangzhou - View on map
"It had been hard to find a genuine non smoking room in China, we have been staying in Guzhen and another intl hotel in Guangzhou prior to Oakwood, however both hotels had failed in rated a non-smoking room as advertised as the rooms are heavilly smelled with ciggaretes smoke. Oakwood premier really walk the talk, the room is free from smoking smell plus the cleanliness is marvelous. A very classy reception and staff."

Rosedale Hotel & Suite
Haizhu District,Guangzhou - View on map
"i visit guangzhou almost once a month, and i always stay in this hotel. this is my 2nd review. location the location is not at the center of guangzhou (like tianhe, etc), and is in the haizhu district. but i still love the location since it is surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping places, and is not in a touristy area. mcdonalds and kfc are right beside the hotel. and there are several chinese restaurants worth a try. skip the breakfast buffet and have dimsum and tea at the chinese restaurant beside the hotel (near 7-11). another must-try is the chinese hot-pot restaurant near mcdonalds. you will need to wait for a table though if you want to eat at peak hours. with the newly constructed metro station right below the hotel, it is now very easy to go around guangzhou. i always take the metro from the airport to the hotel, even if my flight arrives at 10pm. way cheaper and faster than taking a taxi. the airport express bus (#3 if i'm not mistaken) also drops off / picks up passengers near the hotel. rooms the rooms here are hit-and-miss. if you get the newly renovated rooms, you are in luck because they are really nice. the interiors are modern and very clean. can be compared to other more expensive 4-star hotels in guangzhou. do not be tempted though with their cheapest rooms that go on sale at agoda. i got a room for 300-350rmb only, but they gave me their oldest room - dingy and musty - with very old furnishings. tiles are broken and dirty, clogged shower heads, moldy bathtubs, dirty ceilings, old toilet seats, you name it. i just took this in stride since i know i got the room at a promo rate. good thing i stayed only one night, and that it only happened to me once. but next time i will definitely get the upgraded room. value this hotel for me still ranks as one of the best value-for-money hotels in guangzhou. that single incident will not dissuade me from staying in this hotel again."

Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou
Tianhe District-Zhujiang New Town,Guangzhou - View on map
"I stayed for three nights on the 95th floor and the views from my room of the Guangzhou skyline was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable although the air conditioning tends to run a little warm for my liking. Nevertheless, the hotel staff were pleasant and courteous whenever I interacted with them. Unfortunately, I weren't able to sample the dining options at the hotel but I was able to visit Tian Bar during my visit and the drinks accompanied with the views were worthwhile. Can't wait to stay again upon my next return to Guangzhou! "

Park Hyatt Guangzhou
Tianhe District-Zhujiang New Town,Guangzhou - View on map
"Only stayed one night, the room is kind of small for the same price you get much bigger at Four Season. However the breakfast at Hyatt is a lot better. Only one issue we found is that the floor lighting is so dark, hardly to find the room number, would suggest hotel to add background lighting for room number. "

Traveler impressions of Guangzhou

More about Guangzhou

Guangzhou has been a major settlement for many centuries, but it’s the city’s modern successes that make it one of China’s must-see destinations. Major manufacturing and industry jobs have been migrating to Guangzhou for years, and it has become especially well-known for hosting the Canton Fair, which is the biggest international trade fair in China. The fair takes place every year in April and October, and hotels in Guangzhou become a lot harder to book as they’re only available to those with advance bookings.

The city is a favorite among those in the business and trade fields, but vacationers will also find plenty of things to see and do, many of which revolve around the city’s rich and ancient history. Places such as Shixiang Mansion and Guangzhou City Museumare great ways to explore some of the city’s rich history.

Guangzhou’s new urban center is Tianhe, which is also where some of the best accommodations can be found. For sightseeing adventures, tourists are better off heading to the East and West Yuexiu. Historic attractions including Portuguese churches, Buddhist temples, and ancient mosques can be found in the old city.

The city is served by Guangzhou – Baiyun Airport, which is less than 20 miles from the central business area and features a selection of business hotels and a metro line which connects to the rest of the city.

There’s much more to see and learn about Guangzhou, and the interactive map on this page is a great way to find out where the attractions and hotels can be found in this exciting city.
