The city is very well linked up with the Metro. You can easily find food. You should not miss visiting the Xi Han Nan Yue Wang Museum (Tomb & Palace sight)
Busy city, with many attractions of all category. The food is excellent, and guandong food is very delicious.
GZ if worth the visit.
Liurtong Temple is under renovation. Shamian island is worth to visit by foot, is very quite, clean, green and has nice restaurants.
Pearl river cruise is nice.Beijing street is just for expensive, but quite good food.
be warned that your temper will be tested by the locals where ever you good. people in the city is unfortunately do not understand the term manners, so loads of queue jumpers which will make your blood boil! in saying so the city is a brilliant and vibrant place, that has loads of things to do and places to visit.
the food is awesome....
Not many attractions. Those attractions like chen jia ci, yeliu park, museum and shaxiajiulu can be combined into a day.
The canton tower is quite impressive though. Many people who seem to be consistently rushing and pushing. High security with two guards equipped with handheld scanners at every exit of each metro stations.
1) Temples (Da Fo Gu Si; Guangxiao temple; Liurong Temple) 2) Cruise on the Pearl River 3) Kids liked the horse riding at Feng Huang City (Vegetarian restaurant there too).
Try to get directions to Luo Ba Bus station (at Shi Pai Qiao Zhan Metro station exit A) and there are buses from the shopping centre there to the new residential city. 20 min walk from there to the horse riding and vegetarian restaurant. 4) Baiyun Mountain - big mountain, try to get the directions to the correct entrance.
its very nice place to relax and shop. Will definitely visit again and that would be my 3rd visit to the city.
Unfortunately it was unpleasant for me and my family. People were rude and will stare at you like an exhibition and making rude remarks at your big size.
It was unfortunate that most of the people we bump into were not open-minded and make remarks about our sizes in Cantonese (especially when they think we don't understand. I speak Cantonese by the way).
Very modern and busy city. Lots of things to do and places to visit. Shopping is excellent. Food is inexpensive and quite good.
try to use mrt system, not taxi, that is very expensive & un safe transport, driver is crazy drive with fast and careless.
the famaous place to visit is Guangzhou tower,Beijing lu ,pearl river, bai yun mountain and Yuexiu park also sun Yat-sen memorial hall.it also good for food ,shopping & entertainment.
We came to Guangzhou to look at building materials. There are a huge number of places selling just about anything one would need to build a house, indeed just about everything for any purpose.
We found the people very friendly and helpful even though we can't speak Chinese. There are also a variety of restaurants to try, many of which have picture menus.
There is this restaurant near our hotel that sells chicken pot (along Beijing road. They have a slogan in Chinese direct translation, "you called chicken, we be chicken wholeheartly"
normally we are on business trip to guangzhou so after work we will be back at the hotel so cant comment
Guangzhou is a very vibrant city. There are a lot of cars and people on the road even in the early morning of 1am.
The weather is hot even it's autumn to winter. There's no need to bring thick jacket during autumn as it is still hot.
A bustling city with a lot of greenery. Good for business people looking for goods to sell. Not recommended for individual shoppers.
Guangzhou is a good place for business. However, people give fake money especially the taxi drivers. We also got fake money from Bank of China.
Guangzhou is great place for Business and Shopping , Night life all so beautiful, people are very friendly and foods very tasty.
there are a lot of places of historical interest! sometime hard to find the free maps not always give the exact location but if you ask and find someone that can speak english most of the time you will get were you want to be.
taxidriver cannot read the english names and photo from where you want to go helps a lot!
Its not a great place for vegetarians if you are a strict vegetarian then please bring your own stuff and also take a translation app otherwise you will be in a fix also download in google maps in english before you go.
oldest mosque, oldest temples, oldest highway. Shopping what ever you want, eat what ever you like !
Great city and delicious food. Be sure to bring you photo album, its hard to find that speaks English.
Do not change your money in airport money changer, find a bank instead. Airport have low exchange rate plus they have service charge.
guangzhou is a large business area in asia, you can find many wholesale market and nice sightseeing especially during winter.
Big, dirty city. Maybe I was in the older part of town, (Liwan District) but I hated the experience. I walked and walked looking for a subway - just couldn't find one.
When I did, no-one spoke English to help. Not for tourists!
After 8 years of travel here and throughout China Guangzhou is a typical large Chinese city. People are in a hurry and therefore manners and respect are lacking.
You really need to act like a local to survive especially in the subway or public areas. That's not a criticism just an observation. Mostly Guangzhou is untidy and not what I'd call a tourist destination. Subway is the best mode of transport for westerners but taxis are generally honest and get you to your destination using the meter.
Guangzhou is filled with good chinese food, especially cantonese food. Transportation is also quite convenient around town.
If you want to find certain goods in Guangzhou it is good to do your research on where these specialised markets are.
Certain areas specialise in different goods and will only sell these items in the area. The Chimelong Theme park was worth visiting. We went there in summer and it was blistering hot. Furthermore the theme park was crowded and we were not able to try all the rides.
a vibrant city where transportation is easily accessible. food in the eating place are very good. you can get everything from here
Guangzhou is the place for a wholesale person. If you are planning to buy lots of things and re sale it again, Guangzhou is the best place to shop.
They have their own building for each items and the shopping place is very convinience.
Guangzhou is a very big province of China where almost all the factories are there. Also, the markets in Guangzhou are trading posts for everyone one around the world.
Therefore, it has almost everything one need, from auto parts to leathers. Etc.
Unfortunately I didn´t experience Guangzhou as a the wonderful city it is said to be. So I had much higher hopes of it than I should´ve had.
I found it very chaotic and the air was too humid and polluted. Very few locals spoke any English or where willing to help. But I think it is a very good city for shopping and dining though.
