Traveling to New Zealand? Find Hamilton hotels

Stayed here for the long weekend as my fiancé had a training course to attend in Hamilton. Free parking was a major plus. Staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, even when we left his uniform behind and had to have it couriered to us. Did not use gym or pool (it was winter). Breakfast was mostly variations on toast and cereal which was a little disappointing but as it was included in the room rate we weren’t too put out by this. Would return if in Hamilton again.

i had booked this hotel as i was heading to hamilton on business but had to end up taking my wife and 3 month old baby girl. from my entry the staff were very helpful offering to help carry goods and pram to my hotel. they even offered me a free upgrade to a room with a baby cot but i declined as i planned to leave within a few hours. i was pleasantly surprised that the hotel staff had come to my room and offered a fruit basket as complimentary. on the next morning i had to leave at 5am and i had a staff member at reception who was helpful in opening the parking gates at such an early hour. definitely would come back to this hotel and will look forward to going to other hotels as part of this chain.

The room was cavernous! Makes me wonder what local dignitaries and their families lived in "Wesley Chambers" as this building was originally called. Wireless internet worked well as long as door was left open (!) Furnishings a bit dated, but room was very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful (courtesy umbrella for the one rainy day during my visit!). A couple adjacent restaurants (delicious!) allow chargeback to room. Smoking balcony very pleasant and appreciated! Free parking also very much appreciated, as there is precious little downtown. This is the place to stay if you want to immerse yourself in Hamilton nightlife.

rooms are big and clean, and have a almost full facility kitchen- 4 cooking stoves, clean pots and pans, plates and bowls, and cutlery, all off which are clean and still look relatively new. For the 5 nights that i stayed, always came back to a well made-up room. Toilets are clean, and sufficiently big. Although i was travelling alone, i think this is a great room for families with kids who need to prepare some meals at the motel. The manager is very nice too. The hotel is also close enough to the Wakaito river, so if you like a good exercise with a good scenic view, you can just run there from the hotel. (about 500m) Totally enjoyed my stay and will love to come back whenever i come to Hamilton.

Had a lovely over-nighter at the Ibis Tainui Hamilton Hotel. Decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant instead of going down the road - great idea as the hotel restaurant was quiet (ie not noisy), and the food and restaurant service was excellent. Our room and bed was comfortable. Was surprised at the extra cost for parking (valet parking only at $20); and was politely directed off-site for self-parking down the road at $15. The extra $ for parking made it less affordable and competitive. Wouldn't spend the extra again for the river view; a big oak tree blocks the view from many rooms; had to lean over the counter and put my head on the window to see the river further along. Clean and quiet though.

We had a great experience at this hotel. It was great value for money, in a excellent location for the main entertainment strip in Hamilton. The staff were helpful and the 24 hour reception made the valet parking an great addition. Room was comfortable (big big and all the extras). We didn't eat in the hotel but it had a good looking range. We would stay at this hotel again when in Hamilton.

I stay in this motel every time I travel to Hamilton (6 times so far) and it is consistently good value for money. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and helpful, great location: walking distance to CBD, restaurants and shopping. Flat screen TV with good selection of channels and comfortable working desk with plenty of space and lots of power points to plug laptop/cellphone

Nice, new Motel near the University and only a few minutes by car to the Downtown area or Hamilton gardens. Lovely large rooms with good sized ensuite. Excellent kitchen favilities in room with both a microwave and a hotplate. The bed was very comfortable and we were nice and warm with the heat pump. Although there were no SKY digital channels, this has to be the best value stay in Hamilton. We would definitely stay here again. Thankyou to Yolanda who was friendly and helpful.

We arrived Hamilton late at around 9pm but it would cost us a lot to take a taxi to the town for dinner. The dinner was over but when we got into the bar, the staff helped to ask the cook if he can cook something for us. It was so nice to have their help. The location is good, just 2 mins walk from the hotel. The cleaningness is ok but can be better. The room is big and well equipped. If the weather is fine, you can see the stars all over your hands in the car park.

The Argent Motor Lodge was there perfect place for us. We usually travel and stay in big hotels, so when we booked our trip to Hamilton, New Zealand, we looked for those accommodations first. I am glad that those places were booked as it caused me to look around for other accommodations. The Argent not only meet our needs but far exceeded our expectations. The room is modern and new. We loved the mini kitchenette and the bathroom is large and modern. The bed was very comfortable! The entire facility was clean and welcoming. We will be back!

new establishment, spotlessly clean everything, spacious well designed modern comfortable room and shower with attention to every detail even correctly placed TV set (no straggle with pillow adjustment for watching in bed), fully equipped kitchenette, friendly, helpful staff, makes you feel a guest invited to their home, nice extra: freshly ground coffee (for self brewing in your room). Perfect accommodation - nothing to add.

The breakfast in the restaurant was one of the best during all my travels. The bathroom in the Business Studio room was awkward in design, not easy for one person to move around. The room has no "day" curtain on the window for privacy, had to close the heavy curtain for privacy. The room heating was great, plenty of room for suitcases. The room is sold as a business studio however bathroom toiletries were very basic. Overall a good stay for a tourist, reception and restaurant staff were excellent.

I really enjoyed my stay at Quest London street Apartments. Check in was quick and efficient and the staff are friendly. The room was very new and clean and had everything I required to make my breakfast and dinners each day. Free passes to the Les mills gym which is a 2 minute walk away was a fantastic bonus. The hotel is beautifully central in its location, which is a must in Hamilton if you don't have your own transport. I will definitely go back on my next visit.

This is a great hostel in Hamilton for the location and price. They also have a central area where you can watch TV/movies and just hang out with other travelers if you need a break. They also have a kitchen if you want to make your food while you are traveling. The staff wasn't the most helpful during my stay there but the other travelers around me made up for it. It is in a good location and walking distance to a lot of restaurants in the area which is very nice.

We have stayed at the Kingsgate on another occasion, which is why we booked in again. We love the big room and the fact that the two beds are queen sized. Room and bathroom were immaculately laid out and were of the highest standard of cleanliness.All staff were very polite and helpful.On this occasion we did not dine at the hotel as we were in Hamilton for a family occasion but on our previous visit found the restaurant meals to be of a high standard with a variety of food offered. We look forward to our next stay at the Kingsgate!

The apartment is centrally located and a few minutes walk from the main street of restaurants. We stayed in a studio apartment. The view from the back of the apartments was of a car park. We were informed that all the studio apartments had this view. Free street parking around the corner is available between 8pm and 8am as well as 2 hours free parking a day and $6/ hour thereafter.

My partner and I had been travelling for nearly two months and arrived here for our last couple of days before leaving New Zealand. This was the most spacious place that we stayed and we really enjoyed it here. It was clean, there was a kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom with a table, chairs and Sky tv. It was so lovely to have the simple luxury of eating in front of the tv whilst sat at a table. what topped this off was how kind and helpful the receptionist was. I don't know his name, but we were very pleased with our stay overall. Would recommend. Across the road there is a pac and save which was also useful.

This has been one of the best places we've stayed in New Zealand. Both receptionists we dealt with were amazingly nice. We spilled some coffee on our sheets between days and they happily gave us new ones. The maid service was always incredibly thorough. The mini kitchen in the room had some kitchenware and they even cleaned our dishes for us! Also the showers were really nice, and the bed was comfortable. All in all a great place to stay.

What a great motel this is. Better than most hotels I stay at. The rooms are meticulously clean, beds are comfy, bathroom is spotless. There are all the Sky tv sport and movie channels whish is very rare and a great plus for me. There were nice touches as well like decaf coffee, lollipops, nice toiletries etc. There is also a small private area outside each room. Free off street parking, free internet and super nice staff. I have found my Hamilton place of choice.
